And the Jedi Have Become the Hunted...

In a shocking twist Bounty Hunter players on the Naritus galaxy found a new "Dynamic Mission" appear on the Bounty Hunter terminal listed with the hardest missions Bounty Hunters can get. Naritus is also the home of one of the few new Jedi Initiates..... Zina was confirmed to unlock her FS just late yesterday, the second such Jedi player we have heard of. Now this new "Dynamic Mission" is level 75 difficulty and only has a letter and number code as its name. The reward is 150,000 credits.... One of the Master Bounty Hunters, Nerro Elyst accepted the mission, the Jedi players name was listed on the mission in the targets name section. Nerro Elyst then quickly spoke with the Master level Spy-Net Operative and received the bio-signature. Nerro Elyst then attempted to track the player using droids but was greeted with a "your target is not online message" even though she was indeed online. Perhaps a bug, or perhaps the Jedi player had not yet done enough open displays of the force to give away her position, in the end though with Player Bounties active one thing is certain... It will be the players who will eagerly help keep the Jedi population in check... now the question to you is are you to be one of the hunted or the hunter?

Jealousy, Quick Cash, And those who would do it for the sport. A big universe there is to hide in and it seems everyone is underestimating a Jedi. I believe there will be a rise of Jango Fett like deaths within Galaxies. So may the heads start rolling!

Sweet..

I was going to delay building a BH until I heard the news today...Hold Da'Phone! Time to start working on my Jedi Killer! May the force be with you...as you run every which way possible!

Peace be with you...you'll certainly need it.

I'd also suggest those becoming Jedi's to upgrade their systems before venturing into deep action.

You guys act as if you dont have any friends and when you make Jedi anyone that knows you will try to kill you. Not being in any guild myself but play with several friends online I know we would help one another out if the other gets to be a jedi initiate. (remember the Luke had help from his friends) With a couple BH and Commandos helping out I dont think 'our jedi' would have any problems staying alive against one BH. Maybe a new guild idea here eh? The Jedi Protection Agency (for that just in case moment) :)

# Nov 11 2003 at 4:44 PM Rating: Default
the BH wouldnt be targetable by any number of commandos unless both the BH and commmando are overt opposite faction. the tef for jedi doesnt come from their faction, its from being a jedi and using force powers.
and whats to stop 10 BH's from getting the same mission for the same jedi? im sure its possible for them all to go at once and spam eyeshot at the same time. unless only one BH can get the mission at once, but i guess no one really knows yet.

Aughh the jedi innate on the sunrunner galaxy got his *** whooped by a BH in a duel (the dumb A**). Jedi are not immortal. This shows it. All you bounty out there jedi hunting season is open. Go get um boyz. (ha ha Aughh's a fool....). Lost his jedi char i think...not sure.

What if you wanted to be a dark jedi? Is that possible or do you have to unlock a 'dark jedi force slot'?

I don't play galaxies right now and the only thing that could get me to would be the ability to run around slaughtering wannabe rebels for the Empire.
balance
# Nov 10 2003 at 6:21 PM Rating: Default
I think SO (or sony online) have the perfect balance in the jedi area. By this I mean that the number of jedi's featured in the movies die, those who dont are normally the strongest. So any jedi's out the its survival of the fitest and gud luck cos ure gonna need it.

Anyone who attacks a Jedi should suffer perma death is an extremely stupid idea...

Simple, ok it took you a long time to acquire the FSCS, but think of how long it took a Bounty Hunter to get to Master, 3-5 months is the average, in a short time (I give it a month) there will most likely be almost as many Jedi as Master Bounty Hunters.

Once you get perma-death you stil have the force sensitive slot.

FSCS will be extremely common in a short space of time, this idea was designed to keep the numbers down.

There is ine thing I do not agree with, a Bounty Hunter should not be able to use his droids on you, I find it extremely unfair as you will never be able to hide.

If an MBH asks around, pays people, does the workings, and then eventually tracks you down then fairs fair they've earned the right to have a go at you.

Bearing in mind that once you hit Jedi Knight or even Jedi Master a BH shouldnt be able to touch you I don't see this as being a problem.

If you wanted to be sociable you picked the wrong profession, Jedi's in this era live lonely persecuted lives, you are meant to go and train on your own in the middle of nowhere where you cannot be seen by anybody.

You have the coveted profession, I and many others are extremely envious, it's your responsiblity to keep it, please don't complain about persecution, it should be damn near impossible to kill you once you level up to Jedi Knight and eventually Master....I suggest you get on with it.

Perma death for bounty hunters, no, that is stupid, now that jedi don't have perma death.

How bout, anyone who is a MBH is a yellow to anyone who is any type of jedi.

Or what about if you die by a jedi, you get your skills reset to 0 as they would if they died by your hand.

Or what about a permanent scar, like 5 or 6 unremovable wounds to your constitution.

I agree the jedi should be hunted, I'm looking forward to killing my first jedi as a MD/TKM, I'm looking forward to killing lots of things.

Anyhow, my point being is that there should be some sort of consequence for being db'd by a jedi pc.

I thought Jedi where suppose to have a HARD UNFAIR life during this time.

Somehow, I doubt any "balancing" is going to occur. The only thing that will keep Jedi safe is to NOT be a Jedi openly, period, end of story.

To that end, I think Jedi should have the ability to cloak their "name".... and any information BH's get can contain a name OR include a picture... like a little hologram of the characters appearence.... side effect of making body designers important sort of. *Shrugs*

who reads this anyways?
Jedi @ home

smuggs
# Nov 10 2003 at 3:42 PM Rating: Default
first off, i think its a good idea that a jedi can be hunted down and possibly perma death. if not, everyone would be a jedi and the other profs would be neglected. but, is it fair that a hard earned fs slot be wasted the first day by some ruthless BH? probably not. that being said, it would be cool if there would be a certain profession that can aid in hiding a jedi from the bounties and helping a jedi in getting from one place to another without being attacked. what other profession would best fill this role than a smuggler? a smuggler WOULD NOT be strong enough to defend the jedi from a BH in a fight, but a smuggler can sure attempt to outsmart and possible mislead a BH from finding the jedi.

in other words let smugglers be able to smuggle a jedi.

good idea? yes? no? maybe??

There is one way to this "Jedi" thing work fine. Can't exist missions or somewhere that appears the Jedi's names. So the jedis won't be recognized if they doesn't do something in public.... If they walks normaly.. talk like everyone else and other things.. there will be no way to find them (the guy who does everything i said, will be one of those who deserve to be a Jedi)... but if this jedi turn on his lightsaber inside a bar.. everyone will know.. and then his name will be known by everyone...

Plain and simple - Don't be a jedi unless you're willing to accept the fact that you'll be hounded from day one - by Imperial Bounty Hunters to fans to people who just don't like jedi's for one reason or another. Once I reach Master Bounty Hunter - you bet your sweet **** I'm going to keep a very close eye on how the jedis act within the community. ***** up and you'll be on my hit list.

With regards to Perma-Death: Only jedis should suffer this fate and nobody else.

I think it is aawesome idea that BH get to hunt pc. I wish they could have more of it. Maybe the Imps find out your a Colonel in he rebel army? Or when you do a faction quest you get a random chance of being discovered your affiliation; even if your covert. I am not suggesting that a char gets deleted by these BH but just get cloned and let the BH keep the credits you have on you.

just my 2 credits worth

you guys seem to be missing one big detail... the *perma death* has only been mentioned when a PC jedi reaches MASTER status. up to that point, its uber death time. when item decay goes live even that will have its disadvantages. Its my thought that player corpses will also go live with creature mounts. There were no JEDI MASTERS during the fall of the republic, thats not to say there were no force sensitive people running around who either didn't know, didn't care, or where keeping it on the downlow. having player bounties is somthing SOE has promised for a long time. I think its somthing thats going to **** off alot of people, and cause more problems than it sloves in the first few weeks/months its live because SOE is terrible about fixing all the operational bugs before pushing **** out the door. that said, if a BH can wack a jedi, go for it. If other player can defend said jedi, again go for it.

Random question no one has answered (or thought of) A rebel jedi should be able to go both like and dark right? so an imperial jedi could also go light and dark. Would an Imperial Master Bounty Hunter go after an Imperial Master Jedi? I ask you. The same goes for the Rebelion. I think that would make the high-light reels for like three weeks.

This is all ********* Tell you what, you want to let the BH's go after the Jedi and inflict perma-death, that's fine. But anyone that attacks a Jedi should be open to perma-death too if killed with a lightsaber. I think the dev's are complete fools and sit around writing code while smoking big bowls of crack.
The will of the Force
# Nov 10 2003 at 11:22 AM Rating: Default
Such... violent thoughts. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to the dark side. Do they teach the youth of these generations nothing? Tah, alas, the old republic has fallen and many of their exalted ideals have fallen with it. Even the many-times villified Rebel Forces, who fight for their independance, are prone to acts of violence and thoughtlessness. This is saddening.<p>

I will not tell you from whence I hail, or my name, but I will tell you this. I am Jedi. To date, four bounty hunters have sought my death, and each has met his fate in his rightful time. I have a place in the movings of the Force, and I am certain that when my time comes I will know it. That time is not now. Until my time comes, I am certain that more bounty hunters will come looking for me, and more will die. I wish it were not so, for these deaths are meaningless and serve no purpose. However, the Force moves through us as it will.<p>

May the force be with you.

I can t believe people are b***hing about being hunted by BH! Im sorry did yall miss the movies... maybe some of the EU novels? Jedi druing this era did 2 things... RUN and Hide. I advise that you take this skilling into account and mater them rather quick... for there will be a whole world of pain to the jedi who crosses my path.

BTW this is after the jedi purge... so shouldnt vader and a hit squad (say some 30 somthing STs) occasionaly show up to "purge" the unlucky? I think itd be rather rockin to see Vader and his goon squad come storming through Cornet with a Jedi in full retreat from him. Just another thought on how to keep the jedi population at a minimum

RE: Kill all Jedi

Wow, that was very insightful.

And of course, folks wanting to go for Jedi characters has nothing to do with some of us being die hard SW fans and have, since we were FIVE, wanted to be a Jedi Knight, and this game allows us the chance to do it in a social atmosphere, and have it be something special.

Or are you a bitter, PVP'er who doesn't have the time or dedication to go for something that requires time and dedication. Oh wait! That'd be Stereotypeing! Wouldn't want to do that would we?

I think its worth a shot.

i think that it is a really good idea. because if all the servers are full of jedi then what fun will the game be? it won't be any fun. i do agree that only a master bh should be able to hunt them. look im a 0004 bh a 0040 commando and a 3200 ch. im probably not gonna go and give up everything just to hunt jedi and i don't think everyone else that got llc for pvp will either. so master bhs are still going to be rare. good idea soe. keep up the good work.
