Horrifying Terrorist Attacks on the U.S.Sep 11th, 2001 at 8:03 AM by Allakhazam

This is not game news, but is more important. I am putting this up here because many people are trying to figure out what is going on and this way we can share what we know. Here's what I know so far: - At about 8:45 a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center towers. 14 minutes later, andther plane crashed into the second tower. - Another plane crashed into the Pentagon soon after that. - A bomb went off at the State Department. - Both World Trade Center Towers have now completely collapsed, presumably killing everyone who was unable to evacuate in time, and also the firemen and police who were at the towers trying to help people evacuate. - Another plane has gone down somewhere in Western Pennsylvania. Possibly just a coincidence or possibly an attempt to hyjack it to another target. Words cannot express the horror.

I can only say that i feel for all those people who lost there live's to some terriost fool. I live in fla near the nasa station i wonder if they have plans for that.... god bless everyone and god speed...

If anyone wishes to help, throughout the USA there will be massive blood drives.

Go to your Red Cross or the local hospital and give blood. It may seem minor, but it is one of the most lacking things in our medical system.

It will be a huge help. Far more then you probably know.

They are now talking that it was Ben Ladden (sp?) who is responsible for this.

The former speaker of the House has said this is an Act of War. There are 50,000 people who work in the WTC. If they killed even a tenth of that many people today, that will be a huge fraction of what our country lost in the Vietnam War.

What can we do but rain fire and brimstone down upon those who are responsible for this? We MUST make it clear that this will not be tolerated nor allowed to pass.

If a government is harboring the people behind this, then they too have acted in cohesion with a group that has committed and act of war upon a sovereign nation.

I don't want War, but they have attacked our population centers in a time of peace.

Our response must be swift, violent, exponentially more devasting, and with extreme prejudice.

Bin Ladden has not been confirmed, Dubai had a report that it was the Democratic front for the liberation of palestine or something along those lines. Bin Ladden is being mentioned because he is the only person that is truly known of that has the resources and network to coordinate an attack like this. While we need to respond, we must use enough restraint to be certain we have the correct people responsible for this act of terrorism.

My mother called and told me I watched the news and cried, and cried. I wish I lived in NY so there was something I could do to help. My heart goes out to all the families of people who worked in the towers, were in the planes, and around the area.

Words cannot describe what just happened today. My thoughts and prayers go out all those who have been touched by such a massive tragedy that has occured, and I hope that everyone around the world realizes that pain and suffering that terrorist acts can cause.

Just to update things.

Camp David was NOT attacked nor was a bomd detonated at the State Department.

The two planes DID indead crash into the WTC, the first has completely crashed, the second has lost it's top third or so.

The Pentagon was struck by a comercial airline.

A possibly hijacked plane did crash 80 miles (approx) southwest of Pittsburgh PA into the ground. This was possibly the second plane rumored to be heading towards Washington DC.

Please, do not spread rumors for there are many of us with loved ones near these terrorist acts who will react poorly to the rumor/report of something else happening in these cities.

Let us not jump to conclusions about what this is leading to. Please, don't speculate yet, it is too early and will only lead to rising tempers and angry panic made decisions.

My best wishes and deepest condolences to those who have or will loose loved ones in this terribly tragedy.

FYI the plane that crashed near pittsburg was from Newark and was hijacked. I dont think it was heading to DC because if you go from Newark to DC you dont go near pittsburg. It crashed two and a half hours after taking off. It flew towards Cleveland, and when it got near there, it made a sharp u-turn away and ended up crashing near pittsburg. It is sad that what is left of the world trade center is some steel beams sticking up from the ground. it was even sadder watching a video tape of it happening plus seeing the towers crashing to the ground. now there also is no building seven either and a hole in the pentagon. :-(

Seems this was a sparcely populated plane with 43 poeple on board, one with a cell phone. The info about the first plane hitting New York was told. A VOTE was taken , then they attempted to re-take the aircraft from the terrorists. Even under extreme conditions Americans were still Americans. What transpired after that may well be told later by cockpit voice recorderr ((but thats unlikely since they knew how to shut off the IFF transponder(a device used for identifying and tracking the aircraft)). Ill bet my flag there were alot of heros monday who died before anyone but them and their god knew of their bravery.

I worked across the street from the World Trade Center just two years ago. From what I can see, my office building is no longer there. I just hope everyone got out in time.

One again the U.S. is going to be forced into a war on the other side of the world. Agreed, we have been supporting one side of the already heated battle in the Middle East, however now we must act. The U.S. will not stand for this and someone must pay. THIS, my fellow EQ fans, IS ONLY THE BEGINNING. There will be horrible, unimaginable tragities (greater than the World Trade Centers collapsing) within the next 10 years. The likelihood of another terrorist attack against the United States, using nuclear, biological or chemical weapons in the next 10 years, is 100 per cent. Who, what, when, where, or how is still to be determined, but it WILL happen.

WW3 IS upon us. And this time, it will be fought on U.S. soil!

You peeps are not gonna like me for saying this but... calm down, yes its horrible but WW3 i think you need to look at this from a biger perspective IT IS only 4 buildings and couple 1000s of lives. In the great shemes of things its nothing but a big riple and even if was enough to bring about something in the range of WW3 then i would think the Americans Idiot for falling into Terrorist trap of causing more deaths. If this turns to a full scale war it is not the terrorist who history will remember as the bad guys here but the nation that transformed it into a real war.

It can't be WW3 without a clear and present target. ATM it is believed to not be a nation but a small group of indeviduals. We can not wage war on a people jsut because a small number of their kind did somthing horable. aka, not all black people are going to rob you just because one has done so in the past.
