First you need to outfit yourself in a suit of [armor], Branaddar. '

Should you slay the peck warriors guarding the druids and obtain a Leatherfoot Short Bow, take the bow, a Black Mamba Skin, and a Lock of Zombie Hair to Andara C'Luzz at The Bleek Fletcher in the Neriak Commons near the headquarters of the Indigo Brotherhood. I have assembled a kit that is used in the crafting of Bone Mail. You must travel beyond Neriak into the Nektulos Forest for the [materials] that compose the armor.'

You receive an 8-slot container called a Mail Assembly Kit.

You say, 'What materials?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Many species of dangerous creatures and even the walking remains of the dead inhabit the Nektulos Forest. You must defeat these creatures and undead in order to obtain the materials. The materials you seek depend on the piece of armor you desire. Do you desire to craft [gloves], [boots], a [bracer], a [coif], [leggings], [sleeves], or a [tunic]?'

You say, 'Tell me about the leggings'

Krivn S`Tai says 'To craft Bone Mail Leggings you require three [silk thread], a low quality wolf pelt, two calcified tibia, and a calcified pelvis. Once you have the necessary components combine them in your Bone Mail Kit with this Tattered Leggings Pattern. '

You receive a Tattered Leggings Pattern.

You say, 'Where does silk thread come from?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'Silk Thread is sewn by a tailor using a [sewing kit] or a community [loom]. Two spiderling silks combined in the sewing kit or loom will create one silk thread.'

You say, 'What is a sewing kit?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

You say, 'And where would I find a loom?'

Krivn S`Tai says 'A sewing kit may be purchased at the Furrier Royale in Neriaks Third Quarter or at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter. A community loom may be found at the Silk Underground in Neriaks Foreign Quarter.'

Gather the items and armor pattern, then combine in the Mail Assembly Kit.

NOTE: The container isn't consumed in the combine, so you can keep it for other armor pieces. Reward: Bone Mail Greaves

Bone Mail Shield (Normal): Visit Ulraz S`Lon in the Lodge of the Dead, Neriak 3rd Quarter. He is one of the Shadowknight trainers in the center room on the first floor of the building.

You say, 'Hail, Ulraz S`Lon'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'So you are the next pathetic maggot I have the displeasure of training to be a useful Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead. First you must get yourself outfitted in a suit of [armor], those rags you wear can not even contain the stench of your miserable hide and will do no good protecting it from the edge of an enemies blade.'

You say, 'What armor?'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'Seek Krivn S'Tai in the Commoner quarter of Neriak and give him this request parchment. Krivn S'Tai has been paid in advance by the Lodge of the Dead for the requested service. Simply give him the request parchment and he will instruct you further. When you have outfitted yourself in a suit of armor return to the Lodge of the Dead and I will grant you [another task].'

Take the Parchment he gives you to Krivn S`Tai in the Blue Flame (BF) in Neriak Commons. When you hand him the parchment he will give you an 8 slot combinable container ('Mail Creation Kit'). Follow the dialog, using the appropriate [Key words] until Krivn lists the types of armour you can make. Then ask him about each piece to find out the recipe:

You say, 'Another task?'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'Ah, you are eager to advance further within the Lodge of the Dead. Although it is my duty to aid your training, do not allow your arrogance to blind you to your lowly position amongst the Queens most loyal subjects. Your next task is to assist the construction of a [weapon] and [shield] worthy of being wielded by a Shadowknight of the Lodge of the Dead.'

You say, 'What shield?'

Ulraz S`Lon says 'The bones of the dead that dig from their graves at the [Ultricle] in the Nektulos Forest have been strengthened by the minerals and ashen soil. Return some of these walking dead to the rest they have abandoned and bring to me four Petrified Femurs.'

Off to Ultricle. In the end Petried Femurs dropped from "A Decaying Councilman." I had to kill 76 to get the 4 I needed. Back to Ulraz to hand them in:

Ulraz S`Lon fashions the petrified femurs into a shield frame. 'This will be the frame of your new shield. Return now again to the Nektulos Forest, in the gray ashen region of the forest near the Lavastorm mountains the basilisks often come down from the fiery peaks to lay their eggs in the ashen soil. Basilisk hatchlings can be found there as they make their way towards the warmer interior of the mountains. Hunt these basilisk hatchlings and gather two Basilisk Hatchling Skins. Once this is done take the skins and frame to Medron Y'Lask at the Furrier Royale.'

Medron Y`Lask stretches and fastened the basilisk skins across the shield frame and attaches a leather strap and grip to the back of the shield.

Ulraz S`Lon says, 'There is a forge near the Blue Flame Armory in the Neriak Commons and in the Ogre section of the Foreign Quarter. Sharpening stones can be purchased from vendors who deal in blacksmithing supplies.'

  • Combine the Rough Sword Blade and a Sharpening Stone in a Forge.

The recipe is NOT learned, so I do not know the trivial level. My blacksmithing skill doing this combine was at 322 at the time, unmodified with any trophy, and it said I could no longer advance my skill from making this item:

You can no longer advance your skill from making this item.
You have fashioned the items together to create something new: Sharpened Sword Blade.

This results in Sharpened Sword Blade.

  • Head to Neriak Commons and find Opal H`Rugla.

She is in the Blue Flame building (BF banner outside) in the vendor area in the north-east, and she is findable in the CTRL-F menu.

  • Turn in the Petrified Bone Hilt and the Sharpened Sword Blade to Opal H`Rugla.

Opal H`Rugla says, 'I require both the Petrified Bone Hilt and the Sharpened Sword Blade.'

Opal H`Rugla fastens the sharpened blade to the petrified bone hilt and holds it briefly in the blue flame in the center of the room before passing the completed sword to your hand. 'A worthy weapon for a young Shadowknight such as yourself. Wield it with pride for your Queen.'

It came to pass some years later that a small group of Erudites discovered the lost art of Necromancy. They were branded heretics and great conflict arose. For the first time in several hundred years, the Erudites fought. They engaged in a civil war not entirely dissimilar to that which they had loathed and fled back on the mainland. But there was one very significant difference - they did not use swords and bows, but rather magic, and the result was terrible. Lives by the hundreds were lost, great buildings and structures destroyed, and eventually the heretics were forced to flee Erudin, to hide and regroup in the southern regions of Odus. In one final battle, great mystic energies were released and an immense hole leading to unknown depths beneath the earth was created. Into the sides of this chasm the heretics built their own city which they called Paineel. And while both sides still seethed with anger and hatred toward one another, their fear of what the last battle had wrought has kept any further conflict at bay.

Thus began the Age of Turmoil. Reward: Book of Turmoil

You say, 'why are they dead?'

Lokar To`Biath says 'Perhaps, perhaps not. I cannot remember, but perhaps Innoruuk would help me remember should you tithe him a bottle of red wine from the Blind Fish.'

Give him a single bottle of Red Wine. It can be from anywhere, not just the Blind Fish. Give him four bottles at once (unstacked) for four rewards.

Lokar To`Biath says 'Ah, yes, let me pray to our god.. Yes, Innoruuk has given me wisdom. A Scribe of Dal still exists, disguised as a barkeep in the Blind Fish. This information will not help you though, for she has sworn a [vow] of silence and will not speak of the Dal.'

When you kill Lil, she drops a halfling head (which is what you're supposed to bring back to Paziu Puno for your "kings reward"), a bandage (so you can reverse the faction hit you take from killing Lil by giving it to Joogl later), and a Case of Jum Jum Juice (lore item)(which I guess you can give to the treant). Here's where this quest gets funny. After sneaking/hiding through Rivervale and making the run back to Neriak, you need to give the halfling head to Pazin Punox. He then tells you something to the effect of "Foolish young elf. This was no contract from King Naythox. I wanted Lil Honeybugger killed before she gave birth to my child. Only a naive dark elf would set foot in Halfling territory. Here's your great reward, garbage from other guild exploits."

    You say, 'Hail, Pazin Punox'

Pazin Punox squints as you approach, 'What? How... how did you? How did you learn the dark art? That's impossible!'

You say, 'Who is Lil Honeybugger?'

Pazin Punox says, 'Actually, it is a woman. In the Misty Thicket, within the protection of its walls, there is a honeycomb collector named Lil Honeybugger. She is the one who creates the special life-giving honey jum for the halflings. The king has called upon us to contract an assassin to [teach Lil a lesson].'

You say, 'teach Lil a lesson'

Pazin Punox says, 'I suppose you shall do. The King has commanded me to pay a great reward upon completion of this task. All you need to do is find your way to the Misty Thicket and then into the halfling territory beyond the Great Wall. Next, seek out Lil Honeybugger. She lives with her brother in a mound far from the other little people. Return her head to me and the king's reward is yours.'

New response after handing in the head

Pazin Punox says, 'Ha! silly youth. This was no order from King Naythox. I wished the death of this halfling woman because her brother Joogl slighted me . Only a naive young rogue would dare set foot in halfling territory. Here is your great reward, rubbish collected from Mask activities! Now, go away!'

    You say, 'Hail, Ithvol K`Jasn'

Ithvol K`Jasn says, 'Hail, _____! I sense the gift of hatred in your aura. What status do you hold within these Spires?'

You say, 'I am an initiate of Innoruuk'

Ithvol K`Jasn says, 'Well met, Initiate _____. If you desire to raise your station in this temple, I have a task for you. Are you willing to accept the task I am about to set before you?'

    You say, 'I am willing'

Ithvol K`Jasn says 'As an initiate of the Spires, you have proven your hatred of the halflings who are desecrating our forest with their feeble shrines and camps. They persist in their hopeless task and seem to anticipate many of our tactics against them. Go out into the Nektulos and slay the one called Master Whoopal. Take his head to Draxiz N'Ryt so that he may probe the brain.'

Master Woopal's PH - Quester Dunden - in Nectulos Forest - wanders between 70.0, 786.0, 10.0 and 82.0, 854.0, 10.0 at the druid spires in Nektulos. Kill him until Master Woopal spawns.

I see an armored Leatherfoot moving cautiously through the commonlands attempting to avoid the eyes of travelers and guard posts. Find this Leatherfoot I see in my visions and return any pertinent information he may be carrying to me so that I may decipher it. Return to Draxis in Neriak Commons and hand him the orders.

Draxiz N`Ryt says, 'I see you are more cunning than you appear, _____. These orders to Whoopal bring disturbing news indeed. It seems there is a Leatherfoot spy somewhere in Neriak who has been providing the raiders with information. Eventually you step on an invisible floor (pit) and fall down, and there is the spy.

You say, 'What hematite symbol of Innoruuk?'

Perrir Zexus says 'The forest beyond the gates of our grand city has been shaped by the magic of our Lord Innoruuk to be more hospitable to our kind. There are halfling druids in the service of Karana who have set up shrines there in hopes of restoring the forest to its former state. They could never succeed in their task with their feeble powers granted by their insignificant god, yet still, they are a nuisance. You say, 'I am a disciple.'

Ithvol K`Jasn says 'I have an important task for a disciple of Hate such as yourself. It is no secret that King Naythox Thex wishes to expand the Teir'Dal Empire to the continent of Faydwer. We have a camp established in the Lesser Faydark near the stronghold of the vampire lord, Mayong Mistmoore. The camp is constantly under siege by the Fier'Dal and Koada'Dal and must rely on the support of Neriak for supplies necessary to survival. Are you willing to serve your King and Empire by delivering the provisions?'

You say, 'I will deliver the provisions.'

Ithvol K`Jasn says 'The provisions are crated and prepared for shipment by Dran Slug Rembor. Go to his establishment in the Foreign Quarter and tell him Ithvol sent you. Make haste, young disciple of Hate! The fate of the Empire hangs upon our support of the Faydark Camp!'

Dran `slug` Rembor may be found in the west part of Neriak Foreign Quarter (/loc?).

You say, 'Hail, Dran `slug` Rembor'

    You say, 'Ithvol sent me.'

Dran `slug` Rembor says 'So you're the lucky errand boy, eh?! Let's hope you are more successful than the last chump who was sent. From what I hear, there was something pretty important in that last crate that was sent out. It just looked like a bunch of junk to me. Anyhow, we ran out of steel boning. Bring me two bonings so we can bind up the crate and be quick about it! Both of our necks are on the line!'

Hand in 2 x Steel Boning.

The last shipment never made it here and there is an item of great importance stored in the lost crate. Before you return to Neriak, your services are needed to retrieve our [missing shipment]. You say, 'hate be my guide'

Ennixy Frennor says 'So you work for Szorn eh? It's about time he sent someone to check up on me! The Koada'Dal in possession of the crate is on his way here right now to cut a deal with me. I have been trying to send word to Szorn for several days to send support as I do not plan on allowing the elf to leave these mountains alive. You have arrived just in time. Messages For Neriak (Incomplete): Noxhil needs someone to be a courier. He wants you to seek out three individuals and ask them if they have [any messages for Neriak]. The first person is Kizdean Giz located in the Western Commonlands. The second person Cytodl Krish, is on the second floor of the Inn that is NE of the entrance to the High Hold Keep. I'm not sure where the third one is.

Need all dialogues, faction hits, quest items, /loc of quest mobs, list of quest rewards.

    Kizdean Gix roams in Commonlands.

    You say, 'Hail, Kizdean Gix'

Kizdean Gix says, 'If you have business then out with it! If not, then please be gone. I have little time to waste on chitchat!'

You say, 'any messages for neriak'

If you do not have the correct version of Kizdean:

Kizdean Gix says, 'Inform the Dead that I have no further information at this time. I shall continue with my work as directed. Please return regularly, for I am expecting to break new ground.'

If you have the correct version of Kizdean:

Kizdean Gix says, 'It's about time a courier reached these wastelands of humanity. I have urgent news for the Dead. Take this message at once. Let no one stop you. Be on the lookout for the Feir'Dal [Silent Watch]! They have learned of our quest.'

Receive: Sealed Letter [Letter To Loveal Of The Dead]

    You say, 'What Silent Watch?'

Kizdean Gix says, 'The Koada'Dal have created an elite band of paladins, greater even than our own Teir'Dal Dragoons. They exist on the edge of righteousness. They will perform despicable acts in the name of their deity, barely skimming the edge of evil.'

Loveal S`Nez is a shadowknight guildmaster in Neriak Third Gate. Hand Loveal the Sealed Letter [Letter To Loveal Of The Dead]

Loveal S`Nez says, 'I see my expeditionary unit has encountered problems. I must send a dragoon unit to [Befallen] at once. I must not allow the Thex Mallet] to fall into the hands of some simple adventurer. Here is payment for your quick service.'

He and a few stayed on to seek the lost [Thex Mallet]. All that is known is that he never found it. In the centuries since, Befallen has become a haven for the undead.'

    You say, 'Thex Mallet'

Loveal S`Nez says, 'All you can know is that the Thex Mallet is desired by our Queen. If we are not successful in its retrieval, it will be our heads which adorn her trophy room. We have learned its location and believe it to be broken into three separate pieces.'

You say, 'Who is our Queen?'

Loveal S`Nez says 'The Queen of the Teir'Dal is the most powerful of all. It is she who should sit on the throne and not King Naythox. The Dead are her humble servants. We await the day when she shall finally take her rightful position as ruler of Neriak.'

You say, 'Who is King Naythox?'

Loveal S`Nez says 'A competent and powerful warrior, but a warrior nonetheless. He has suppressed the true glory of the Teir'Dal. Perhaps it is time for a new ruler of Neriak.'

    You say, 'Hail, Cytodl K`rish'

Moss Snakes (Normal): Talk to Hekzin G`Zule in the rogue guild. He will say he is working on some new type of armor.

    You say, 'Hail, Hekzin G`Zule'

Hekzin G`Zule says 'How's it going, scrub? Correct me if I'm wrong, but you appear to be a rogue. If you're a [new rogue], it's my job to test your skill. If you are not, then by speaking with me, I see you show interest in [joining this house of rogues].'

You say, 'I am interested in joining this house of rogues'

Hekzin G`Zule says 'We of the Ebon Mask must first be sure you are skilled with a blade. At the same time, we are attempting to create a new type of armor for our rogues. So it is the test of each young rogue to take this bag into Nektulos and fill it with three moss snake skins and three snake fangs, then combine them. We get the bag and you earn a little respect as well as the [Dark Shield of Ebon].'

You receive an Empty Bag in which you need to combine three snake scales and three snake fangs. This produces a Bag of Snake Parts. Give this to Hekzin.

Hekzin G`Zule says 'Fine work for a scrub. Maybe one day you will be able to test this new snakescale armor out. For the moment you shall take the [Dark Shield of Ebon] if you do not own one already.'

Ring of the Dead (Removed): Information on this is sketchy. There is a female NPC in the Necromancer Guild who will talk to you about a Ring of the Dead. Verant has confirmed that this ring no longer drops.

Scroll of G`Han (Normal): This isn't believed to be an actual quest; rather, some lore that has been around since EverQuest's original release.

Speak with Noxhil V`Sek in Neriak Third Gate...

    You say, 'Hail, Noxhil V`Sek'

Noxhil V`Sek remains silent, uninterested in speaking with you.

    You say, 'Who is Innoruuk?'

Noxhil V`Sek says 'He is the Prince of Hate. We are His vessels of destruction. There are no greater servants of Innoruuk than the Dead. His word is law. Once the Teir'Dal obtain the second half of the [scroll of G'han], all Norrath shall be enveloped by His glorious hate.'

You say, 'What about the scroll of G'han?'

If your faction level with "The Dead" is too low, you see:

Noxhil V`Sek says 'When you learn to serve the Dead, then I will find the time to speak of such things.'

If your faction is high enough:

-- I was able to get this text at Dubious (drool) --

Noxhil V`Sek says 'The scroll of G'han was scribed long ago by the great necromancer G'han. With it, we can commune directly with Innoruuk. Unfortunately, one portion of the scroll was taken from us by a rogue who was hired by the Koada'Dal. In Felwithe, it doth lie. The Indigo Brotherhood now attempts to reclaim it.'

20 expansions later, you can now do something about this missing scroll. See the "Call of the Forsaken" quest/task "The Missing Scroll" for more information.
Sir Lindeal's Testimony (Normal): You say, 'Hail, Loveal S`Nez'

Loveal S`Nez says 'What is this I see before me? A would-be hero of the Dead? You reek of false bravado. I have seen others much stronger than you meet their fate at the end of a blade. I see no reason to continue our conversation. How can one such as you assist with my [delegated duties]?'

    You say, 'What delegated duties?'

Loveal S`Nez says 'Why do you ask? I know why. Glory has captured your affections. Those who seek glory find death. Still, you may be of some use. Before I assign you a task, I must be assured of your power. I require you to [perform a test].'

You say, 'I will perform a test.'

Loveal S`Nez says 'In the Lavastorm Mountain Range there have been sightings of a paladin, one Sir Lindeal. He has compromised our routes between.. well, that is none of your concern. All you need to know is that this paladin of the Temple of Marr must be sent to his everlasting life. Do so and prove your worth to us. I await your proof. Use no assistance. If you are truly his equal then I shall know. I know all.'
