Quests for Natimbi, the Broken Shores

Cragbeast Queen: Lizardscale Plated Girdle (Normal): Note: This quest is different depending on your class. Casters (int caster and healer) get one quest, everyone else another. Casters go to Lienni not Larsaki

Larsaki may be found in the Wayfarers camp in Natimbi at -677, -1595, +249, next to Magus Releua under a tent. The Cragbeast Queen spawns at the top of the hill in Natimbi at around 12 AM gametime and despawns at around 2 AM. She requires a raid force to kill, and drops various minor items, including Scales of the Cragbeast Queen, Glowing Bile Drenched Jewel, Phosphorescent Bile, and Misshapen Cragbeast Flesh.

You say, 'Hail, Larsaki'

Larsaki smiles and extends her arm to welcome you. 'Pleased to have you in our quaint makeshift camp, ______. Stay as long as you like. The Wayfarers always seem busy, but there's not much for me to do here other than work on my [weaving].'

You say, 'What weaving?'

Larsaki nods. 'Yes. You may have heard of my skill. Among my tribe I was an expert seamstress, the most talented seamstress that has existed for generations. While I can work with a variety of materials, my forte lies in weaving the scales from cragbeasts into decorative attire.'

If you have Scales of the Cragbeast Queen in your inventory, you get this response instead after hailing her:

Larsaki yelps with surprise as she notices the bundle of scales you carry. 'How? Where did you acquire those ancient cragbeast scales? As long as I've lived in Taelosia I've never seen any so enormous. The beast must have been several centuries old!' She pauses a moment to regain her composure, 'It would be my honor to fashion those scales into something more practical for you. They are intact enough to create a scale plated belt. All I need are the remaining raw [materials].'

You say, 'What materials?'

Larsaki hands you a compact box. 'Splendid. This is what will be required of you, ______. Bring me the raw materials necessary to forge the belt. Combine them in this container and then return the box to me. The work will require three Polished Stonemite Shells, a pair of Untainted Spectral Essences, and the Cragbeast Queen's Scales.'

You receive Larsaki's Empty Box, a 6-slot GIANT container. The Polished Stonemite Shells (3x) do drop from stonemites in Vxed and Tipt. The Untainted Spectral Essences (2x) do drop from spirits in Vxed, Tipt, and Uqua. The Scales (1x) do drop from the Cragbeast Queen. Combine the ingredients in the box to craft Larsaki's Box of Raw Materials. Give this to Larsaki.

Larsaki bows slightly and hands you a hefty belt. 'This is my finest work, ______. Wear it with pride and know that it was my distinct honor to assist you in this fashion.'
You gain experience!!

You receive Lizardscale Plated Girdle. Reward: Lizardscale Plated Girdle

Cragbeast Queen: Lizardscale Woven Sash (Normal): Note: This quest is different depending on your class. Casters (int caster and healer) get one quest, everyone else another. Casters go to Lienni not Larsaki

Lienni may be found in the Wayfarers camp in Natimbi.

You say, 'Hail, Lienni'

Lienni nods in your direction. 'Greetings. This is a place of peace and safety. Feel free to have a seat in our camp and relax. The Wayfarers have rescued me from the clutches of the Legion of Mata Muram. We owe them so much. I wish there were some way I could [repay] them.'

You say, 'What do you mean, repay?'

Lienni sighs with discontent. 'I am not a warrior, and that's what is truly needed in these dark times. There's nothing I can do except weave. In our tribe I was an expert seamstress. I can work with nearly any material, but my specialty is decorative clothing woven from scales of the cragbeast.'

If you have Scales of the Cragbeast Queen in your inventory:

Lienni gasps when she catches a glance at the scales you carry. 'Unbelievable! Those are authentic ancient cragbeast scales. Why, they're absolutely humongous. Some of the scales are a bit charred or damaged in places, hmm.' She chuckles, 'The beast didn't go down without a
fight, I take it? There are enough scales in good shape to fashion a sash. I could do so with the right [materials], if you wish.'

You say, 'What materials?'

Lienni hands you a compact box. 'This shouldn't be too difficult for someone like yourself. I will need you to bring me the raw materials to weave the sash. Combine them in this box and then return the box to me. The work will require three Pristine Hynid Manes, a pair of Untainted Spectral Essences, and the Cragbeast Queen's Scales.'

You receive Lienni's Empty Box, a 6-slot GIANT container. The Pristine Hynid Manes drop from "a wary hynid" in Yxtta. The Untainted Spectral Essences drop from spirits in Tipt, Uqua, and Vxed. The Scales drop from the Cragbeast Queen herself. Place the essences, manes, and the scales in the box, hit combine (resulting in Lienni's Box of Raw Materials), and turn it in to Lienni:

Need hand-in dialogues.

You receive Lizardscale Woven Sash. Reward: Lizardscale Woven Sash

Cragbeast Queen: Lodestar (Normal): Mudarik Aletipper is a dwarf sitting between crates in the Wayfarers camp, holding a beer in his hand.

You say, 'Hail, Mudarik Aletipper'

Mudarik Aletipper spits out a mouthful of brew. 'Blast ye, ______! For the love of Brell what possessed ye to sneak up on a dwarf when he's drinkin'? I thought ye were the [Cragbeast Queen] come to have me for a light snack.'

You say, 'What is the Cragbeast Queen?'

Mudarik Aletipper nods knowingly and leans in close. 'Listen to me carefully, Human. Keep a wide berth if ye value yer skin. She's got a jaw as wide as an ogre's backside and as strong as a steel trap. From what I gather from the natives, she made an appearance after the great explosion rocked this island. They say she crawled right out of the ocean if ye can believe that. Rumor has it that she's been sleepin' for ages and the blast woke her up. Now she roams the beaches at midnight. She's not angry so much as plain famished. We've been lookin' for bands of adventurers like yerself strong enough to take her down. If ye have the skills and ye manage to best the blasted lizard, come back and speak to me. There are [rewards] to be had for such bravery.'

You say, 'What rewards?'

If you have Phosphorescent Bile in your inventory, you see:

Mudarik Aletipper says 'Well look at what ye have here. Collected some of the Cragbeast Queen's . . . Umm . . . Bile, did ye? That's without a doubt the most foul wretched nauseatin' thing I've ever laid my eyes upon, and that's sayin' a lot. But wait, it's glowin' like a lamp. That's what ye call bio-lumee-nessence, or so a gnome once told me. If you got your hands on a specially made torch to mount the bile in you might have something, ______'

If you don't have Phosphorescent Bile in your inventory, you see:

Mudarik Aletipper sifts through your belongings for a few moments. 'Nay, friend. I don't see that ye have anything from the Cragbeast. Did ye really kill her and come seeking a reward, or are ye just pulling an old dwarf's leg?'

Combine the Phosphorescent Bile (dropped by the Cragbeast Queen) in the Unlit Ornate Beacon (dropped by various named mobs in Uqua) to craft the Lodestar.

You have fashioned the items together to create something new! Reward: Lodestar

Cragbeast Queen: Loop of the Lizard Slayer (Normal): Mudarik Aletipper may be found in the Wayfarers camp in Natimbi (/loc?).

You say, 'What Cragbeast Queen?'

Mudarik Aletipper nods knowingly and leans in close. 'Listen to me carefully, Halfling.

Need response.

If you have the Glowing Bile Drenched Jewel in your inventory, you get this:

Mudarik Aletipper snatches the Bile Drenched Jewel from you and holds it up to the light. 'By Brell. Look at the craftsmanship, it's unmatched! Ye can tell by the way the gem was cut that it's from a magical ring - mighty powerful one I'd imagine. The rest of the ring was digested in the Cragbeast Queen's stomach so ye'll have to find a suitable replacement. Keep yer eyes peeled for a ring with room for a jewel and reforge the two pieces in a jeweler's kit. Ye shouldn't need any skill as a jewelcrafter per se, so needn't worry about that.'

Combine the Glowing Bile Drenched Jewel and the Gemless Pristine Loop (dropped by various named in Uqua, identifies as "Has an empty setting for a gemstone") in a jeweller's kit to craft the Loop of the Lizard Slayer (no-fail combine). Will any jeweler's kit work? Reward: Loop of the Lizard Slayer

Cragbeast Queen: Visage of the Brute (Normal): Mudarik Aletipper may be found in the Wayfarers camp in Natimbi (sitting between some crates near Magus Releua's shelter, -726, -1661, +264).

You say, 'What Cragbeast Queen?'

Mudarik Aletipper nods knowingly and leans in close. 'Listen to me carefully, Halfling.

Without a Misshapen Cragbeast Flesh in your inventory:

Mudarik Aletipper sifts through your belongings for a few moments. 'Nay, friend. I don't see that ye have anything from the Cragbeast. Did ye really kill her and come seeking a reward, or are ye just pulling an old dwarf's leg?'

If you have Misshapen Cragbeast Flesh in your inventory, you get this:

Mudarik Aletipper says 'What's this, ______? A chunk of oddly shaped flesh that ye recovered from the Cragbeast Queen? It almost looks like a face, if ye squint your eyes and turn yer head like so. An ugly face at that. Hmph. Maybe there's something to it that I'm not seein'. Hrmph, [reminds me]. . .'

You say, 'Reminds you of what?'

Mudarik Aletipper shrugs. 'Well, ye see. There was this friend a' mine, goes by the name of Reyna. She was always blabbin' on and on about how wayward spirits see the world differently, sayin' they have mysterious ways of seein' things that the living cannot. Never quite understood what she was on about. Bunch of blooming balderdash if ye ask me.'

The spirit Mudarik refers to is named Caridwi, who spawns in Yxxta at -240, -2115, behind the riddle door near the golems, on a rock near the Primal Reptile.

For information about getting past the locked door to the Primal Caves, see this quest entry.

Caridwi spawns at 4 AM gametime and despawns at 6 AM.

Information needed to connect Reyna with Caridwi.

You'll see an emote in the area when Caridwi spawns:

A haunting song echoes in the dank caverns.

You say, 'Hail, Caridwi'

Caridwi is whistling an unusual tune. As she speaks, her song continues. The overlapping effect of the music and her melodious voice is haunting. 'Greetings Halfling, it is not often that someone visits me here. In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw another person. Ever since that day in the Coliseum my life has been so strange. Time has all but lost its meaning, and I see the most unusual things. Have you come to hear my [story], or would you like me to explain what the world looks like [through my eyes]?'

You say, 'Through your eyes.'

Caridwi says, 'It is difficult to describe. Things that used to be clear to me are now non-distinct, and . . . I see visions . . . that are inexplicably real but defy all common logic. For instance, I see you carry a trophy from an epic battle; a misshapen lump of flesh that you aquired from a tremendous foe. You do not understand. Please allow me to borrow it for a moment so I can show you.'

Give her the Misshapen Cragbeast Flesh.

Caridwi places her hand over your eyes and forces you to examine the Cragbeast Queen's Flesh through her transparent fingers. The skin takes the shape of a hideous mask. 'Do you see now, ______? Do you understand?'

You receive Visage of the Brute. Reward: Visage of the Brute

Fienne's Wildlife Specimens (Normal): Fienne Silverleaf is a High Elf located at the Wayfarers camp in Natimbi.

You say, 'Hail, Fienne Silverleaf'

Fienne Silverleaf nods briskly at you. 'You are welcome here. Have you had a chance to observe the [wildlife] yet?'

You say, 'What wildlife?'

Fienne Silverleaf says 'There is a myriad of strange new creatures in this land, and all are quite interesting. There is one in particular that I cannot seem to decipher. I cannot ascertain what sort of creature they are precisely, we have been calling them stonemites. It is most disconcerting to a scientist such as myself. If you could catch me a few [specimens] it would be most appreciated.'

You say, 'What specimens?'

Fienne Silverleaf says 'That is actually the majority of my problem. They have the most peculiar makeup. I have been unable to capture any alive, and their structure is very delicate. If you could continue attempting to get the pieces intact, it would be VERY helpful. I believe with the legs, shell, meat, and eye I should have enough material to make an astute analysis. I have a lovely string of pearls for your trouble.'

Intact stomemite shell, legs, eye and meat are a moderately rare drop off any stonemite in the zone. Make sure all four items are indeed "intact" before you hand them in, because non-intact parts also drop and are very similar to the intact parts.

Fienne Silverleaf says 'Wonderful! I should be able to garner quite a bit of information with these specimens. Here are those pearls I mentioned.'
You gain experience!! Reward: Strand of Sea Pearls

Kiki's Turtle Soup (Normal): Kiki Mischiefmaker may be found in the Wayfarers camp at -710, -1580.

You say, 'Hail, Kiki Mischiefmaker'

Kiki Mischiefmaker says 'Hello hello! Quite a small camp isn't it? We must be very careful nowadays. There is some marvelous [soup] to be had however. I fear we are growing low, sooner or later someone is going to have to go out and catch some more of those strange local turtle type creatures. I think they have been labeled 'turepta'.'

You say, 'What soup?'

Kiki Mischiefmaker says 'I knew you would do well around here from the moment I saw you! How helpful. You must be very careful when hunting these creatures, or the meat can become quite bruised and inedible. If you can bring me back four succulent meats I should be able to whip up enough soup for all of us that will last some time! If you are the casting sort you may enjoy my book, I would be happy to give you a copy for your trouble.'

Give her four of Succulent Turepta Meat, a rare NO DROP item from A Turepta Cragwalker.

Kiki Mischiefmaker says 'Marvelous! This should do just fine. I can't thank you enough! Here is a copy of my book.'

You gain experience!! Reward: Kiki's Recipe Book

If you have Soulwhisper (necromancer epic 1.5), find Whiahdi in Natimbi near the undead camp, at +375, -925.

You say, 'I wish to locate the paladin.'

Whiahdi says, 'I fear for you should you seek the staff, but I promised to help you. I can still hear the staff's dark whispers. It appears that the paladin wielding the staff has been killed and the staff returned to its master. The staff's master has broken the staff into three pieces. two of the pieces have been given to his most trusted minions, and the third piece, a globe of discordant energy, resides in a location known as Anguish, in the Realm of Discord. If you wish to somehow rebuild the staff you must find these three pieces. I can still hear the staff begging for its master. The staff tells me the only way the minions will appear is if a certain phrase is uttered at a place where the power of discord seeks to engulf all. The phrase is, 'Sanait Sanaiij Tsulum'. I don't know what it means or where this place of great discord is however. I'm sorry that's all the staff has told me. If you find all three staff pieces, return them to me along with Soulwhisper and I will see if I can reform the staff for you.'

In the Ruined City of Dranik, find a mob called Discord Fluctuation at +2380, +125, in the northeast room of the building Battlemaster Rhorious is in.

You say, 'Sanait Sanaiij Tsulum'

Discord Fluctuation implodes, blinding you with a bright flash of light, Three horrendous creatures now appear before you, and they don't look happy...

Arlagai the Defiler, Gornogg the Awful, and Rargari the Destroyer spawn around the Discord Fluctuation, facing it, all red /cons to 70. They do not see through invisibility.

Arlagai the Defiler spellcasts, has relatively few HPs, hits for 1500, and gates. Kill Arlagai first to loot Staff Piece Number Two. A chest with additional loot can spawn after you loot it.

Gornogg the Awful is a warrior, has a lot of HPs, and hits for 2000. Kill Gornogg second to loot Staff Piece Number Three.

The worst of the three, Rargari the Destroyer is either a rogue or a warrior, has a lot of HPs, hits for 3000, and procs Dark Inferno. You don't have to kill him, as he drops nothing and it's not required for the quest.

You must now go to the Citadel of Anguish and kill Warden Hanvar. Upon his death, an orb of discordant energy may spawn which contains a globe of discordant energy.

Turn in the two staff pieces along with the globe of discordant energy and your Soulwhisper:

Whiahdi says 'It is against my better judgment to rebuild this staff, but I agreed to help you, if you helped me.'

Whiahdi takes the staff pieces from you and sets them down on the ground. She waves her ghostly hands over the pieces and they begin to glow. A bright, orange flame engulfs the pieces as they begin to join, forming the staff. A bone-chilling shriek fills your ears. You look down to see the staff fully formed. 'Take the staff and leave. I have done something that I should not have done this day.'

You receive Deathwhisper and 10 AA, plus access to your epic 2.0 title, Grand Occultist. Reward: Deathwhisper

Paranormal Research (Normal): Misan Rostenan may be found at the Wayfarers camp in Natimbi.

You say, 'Hail, Misan Rostenan'

Misan Rostenan says 'Welcome, adventurous one. You wouldn't happen to be interested in a little [paranormal research] would you?'

You say, 'What paranormal research?'

Misan Rostenan says 'That is wonderful. There are some ruins on the other bank of this channel. They appear to be quite old and are covered in strange markings. It is my theory that they were some form of religious or supernatural ritual area. I don't know what happened, but there are ghostly sightings there nearly every night. I have been studying them but thus far have had no luck in gaining anything solid that I can bring back for extensive study. I have seen some strange essence left behind, however. If you could bring me a few of those, say four? It would be most helpful. I may even have a mace in it for you.'

He needs 4 x Spectral Essence to complete the quest. These drop off of restless souls in the ruins across the river. Reward: Mace of Focused Flame

Siren Hunting (Normal): You say, 'Hail, Lorri Stonesong'

Lorri Stonesong says 'Ahh! It is wonderful to see so many eager to explore this new land and help the Brotherhood! Please, make yourself at home. Feel free to let me know if you are interested in doing some [siren hunting]!'

You say, 'What siren hunting?'

Lorri Stonesong says 'Well, there seems to be a strange form of siren that resides off the coast of this place. They seem similar to the potameids that can be found in the waters of Jaggedpine. These seem to be exceptionally fierce, however. Quite nasty! We discovered them performing the most heinous deeds to those caught unaware. They really are a [menace].'

You say, 'What menace?'

Lorri Stonesong says 'Oh, you really don't want to trouble yourself with their perversions. You would do us a great favor by hunting them if you are so inclined. In fact, I am almost certain that we would [reward] such efforts.'

You say, 'What reward?'

Lorri Stonesong chuckles. 'I have a lovely shield laying around! If you are the sort that can use one at all, you may like it. Now if you really want to set out to exterminate some, I would advise being careful. They undoubtedly can see much more efficiently in the water than you, not to mention that they are in their natural habitat. Bring me back a siren tongue, fin, and heart and perhaps we can reward you.'

Lorri Stonesong says 'Thank you very much! Here is that shield I promised you.'
You gain experience! Reward: Shield of Coastal Purity
