Quests for Halls of Betrayal (Chardok B)

Forge Shai`Din Ceremonial Blade (Unsolved): You say, 'Hail, Palardiag Dax`Kunoksan'

Palardiag Dax`Kunoksan says 'What business could you possibly have with me mortal? Speak quickly before I have your tongue ripped out. I have a very important ceremony to prepare for.'

You say, 'What ceremony?'

Palardiag Dax`Kunoksan says 'The time for the tainting of the blade draws near. All new initiates of the Shai`din must take place in this. If you do not [pledge allegiance to Shai`din] then I would suggest leaving now while you still have your head.'

You say, 'I pledge allegiance to Shai`din.'

Palardiag Dax`Kunoksan says 'You support our cause and rituals do you ______? I cannot say I am not surprised, I do not usually come across a mortal with the same intentions as yourself. As a matter of fact this is the first time. Regardless, I think that you wish to assist us and I am willing to give you a chance. Do you [agree to collect the necessary items] to forge your own Shai`din ceremonial blade?'

You say, 'I agree to collect the necessary items.'

Palardiag Dax`Kunoksan says 'Very well ______, go out and seek out the four pieces of the Shai`Din blade amongst these halls. I am sure you will know what they are once you have come across them.'

The pieces drop randomly in the zone. Hand in all four, and Palardiag gives you back the combined NO DROP Shai`Din Ceremonial Blade and a Shai`Din Medicine Bag. He asks you to combine the blood of 8 Councilmen in the medicine bag to make a tanning agent which you must return along with the blade for him to "judge you." Reward: Flowing Cloak of the Shai`Din

Help Baelin (Normal): Baelin Xir`Rixoan may be found at -100, +220.

You say, 'Hail, Baelin Xir`Rixoan'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'Pfft mortal what is it that you want? I have nothing to say to those unlike me, I wish to be left alone so please leave me be to my [fortress].'

You say, 'What fortress?'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'I do not know why I am tolerating your council but for some reason I feel you can be of some use to me besides having your skull as a paperweight. I have been trapped in this dwelling for ages and I seek someone that will help me be freed of this [mystical prison].'

You say, 'What mystical prison?'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'There are many unseen shackles that confine me to this room. They were first placed upon me years ago for my cannibalistic tendencies. You see I was the leader of one of the most powerful religious sects of the di`zok. I conducted many [ceremonies] in our place of worship and not many were in approval of the royal di`zok family.'

You say, 'What ceremonies?'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'Many of our sacrifices took place with our most unfortunate captives and there was never one that went before the knife that was a member of the brood but somehow it got out that we were sacrificing one of our own kind and for that I was sentenced to these halls never to be seen again. I do however think that you could help me [escape] if you chose to.'

You say, 'How can I help you escape?'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'I truly do not believe what I am hearing but for some reason I feel that I should trust you. I am going to ask you to return me four pieces of my staff that were lost after I departed the home of the di`zok. I lost many of them fighting to break free from the guards that were ordered to capture me. If you would [return these staff pieces] I can then reconstruct my staff and use it to counteract the barrier surrounding my quarters.'

You say, 'I will return these staff pieces.'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'Very well ______, begin your search now and do not cease until you have found the four pieces. I feel that they must be somewhere in these haunted halls because it was here where my staff broke apart.'

Hand in the pieces.

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'These are indeed the pieces that I seek. It is amazing that you were able to obtain these staff pieces and I am very grateful. Unfortunately there is a [problem].'

You gain party experience!!

You receive Baelin's Gem Kit, a LORE 4-slot container.

You say, 'What problem?'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'There are some gems missing from these pieces, they were magically infused into the oak and I do not know how they disappeared but I cannot conduct my magics with my staff being incomplete. If you [wish to help] me further then I will need you to obtain them.'

You say, 'I wish to help.'

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says 'You have come this far now ______, I certainly hope you will not let me down. Please seek out my 4 gems in these cursed halls. When you have gathered the 4 glimmering gems combine them in my gem kit and return the result of your work to me.'

Four versions of "A Glimmering Gem" drop randomly in the zone. Combine them in Baelin's Gem Kit to create Baelin's Enchanted Gem. Give this to Baelin.

Baelin Xir`Rixoan says, "I cannot believe that you would go to such great lengths to help me. I hope you can see just how dark and evil the di`Zok are now. If you should choose to take the side of the inhabitants here I would suggest slaying any and every single di'Zok clansman in existence. Now begone I have much work to do."

Reward(s):
Black Enchanted Amulet Reward: Black Enchanted Amulet

Silzok's Pages (Normal): Silzok Foi`zarth may be found at -550, +530.

You say, 'Hail, Silzok Foi`zarth'

Silzok Foi`zarth moans. 'What is it, mortal? Can you not leave me alone to mourn my [loss]?'

You say, 'What loss?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'The loss of all my [work]!' Silzok lets out a wail that echoes throughout the caverns.

You say, 'What work?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'I do not know why I am telling you this, but the Overlord, concerned with the recent opening of this part of Chardok, had commissioned me to create a means to animate the ultimate golem to protect the Royal Family. I had always had a knack with golem creation, but it was a most difficult task to create a golem of the power that the Overlord wanted due to their physiology. After much intense research I had finally documented a way to create what I think could be the most powerful golem ever created. It was all detailed in my [tome].'

You say, 'What tome?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'A tome of great power. The ultimate guide to golem creation! Before I could present the tome to the Overlord, my foolish [brother] had to ruin everything! I curse him!'

You say, 'What brother?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'My brother, Gaodon. He has always been jealous of my superior intellect. However what he lacked in intelligence he more than made up for with malice. When he found out about this project he flew into a rage, claiming that the Overlord should have let him research the golem. However, my brother did not have the slightest notion how to create a golem. I should have known that he had some sort of [plan] to steal my tome.'

You say, 'What plan?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'Whilst I was resting in my chambers, he made his way inside and found where I kept the tome. I had only the simplest of wards activated to protect it. That was foolish of me. My brother dispelled the wards and fled with the tome. I arose just in time to see him run out of my chambers. I gave chase. We ran through the tunnels for some time before Gaodon made a [fatal mistake].'

You say, 'What fatal mistake?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'A mistake made even more fatal considering my brother and I are no longer composed of living flesh, but rotting bone. Gaodon had broken through the fence leading to the breeding pens of the Royal Family's most vicious chokidai. Gaodon was promptly torn limb from limb. A fitting end for him! However the chokidai also got hold of my tome. They began to tear it apart. Dodging their gnashing teeth, I managed to recover the remains of the tome. However some of the pages were missing. The chokidai, seeing that their pen was now open, fled into the tunnels. As the chokidai escaped, I noticed that some of them had pages from my tome dangling from their maws. This happened recently so there may still be [hope] in recovering the pages.'

You say, 'What hope?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'The chokidai should still be somewhere within these Halls, so finding the pages could be possible. I do not think I can re-write the missing pages, as they came to me in a moment of inspiration. The Overlord is not a patient being, so if you could make it your priority to [search for the missing pages], I will make sure you are rewarded.'

You say, 'I will search for the missing pages.'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'Luckily there are only four missing pages. The pages are known as the page of clay, the page of decay, the page of dust, and the page of stone. Once you have all four pages, hand them to me and I will reward you!'

You are looking for four pages that drop randomly off any Chokidai either dead or undead. The four are: page of dust, page of clay, page of stone, and page of decay. Once you get all these pages return to Silzok Foi`zarth. Hand him the four pages.

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'I cannot believe you have found the pages! Let me examine them.' Silzok carefully places the tattered pages back into his tome. 'They are little damages, but mostly salvageable. Stand back, I will wait no longer to use the power of this tome!' Silzok reads from the tome, uttering in a strange tongue. The dust below your feet begins to stir, forming a large whirlwind. Dirt and stones float from the floor into the ever-glowing cyclone. Soon the noise from the swirling maelstorm grows deafeningly loud. As you stare in awe, the ground shakes underneath your feet as a dark form steps out of the swirling mass of debris. It is a large golem, and it doesn't look happy. Silzok barks a command to the newly formed golem. The huge creature completely ignore Silzok and begins to attack! 'This is all [wrong]!' shouts Silzok.

You say, 'What is wrong?'

Silzok Foi`zarth says 'The golem is not following my orders! You must stop it, lest it destroy us all! Destroy it and give me its heart!'

As soon as you hand Silzok the pages, Silzok's Golem will spawn beside him (it looks like the ones guarding the castle/bridge). A slower is very helpful and the golem can be killed easily. Loot a Golem's Heart and give it to Silzok.

Silzok Foi'zarth says 'So my creation has failed. Perhaps I am not the master of golem creation that I thought I was. This golem could have destroyed the Royal Family whould I have summoned it in front of them. I will destroy its heart and this tome so that this shall never happen again. Here is your reward as promised. Now leave me.' Reward: Golem Heart Ring
