Chat Font Size On The Typing LineFollow

Hi everyone :) I have a couple more questions, please. I changed the font size of the text I see in my chat window with /chatfontsize; however, on one of my toons the size of the text window chat is fine, but it did not change the text where I type in commands/chat, etc. I found that odd. On my other toons both the window text and command/text line text size are the same. Any ideas how to correct that?

Also, on this same toon, the entire UI is smaller than my other toons. I have been trying to change it with Options - Display - Video Mode, but no matter what size resolution I choose, the screen defaults back to the same smaller size which, again, is smaller than the size for my other toons.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Both toons played on the same computer? Both using the same UI?

If either of these are a No, then load the toon on the same computer, and use the same UI and see if it is still messed up? If it is, the problem is your UI_charactername_severname.INI file. If it's not, then it's either a problem with the UI you are using, or some setting on the other computer.

As far resolution, you should set EQ the same as your desktop whether windowed or full screen, but particularly in windowed mode. To find it, right-click on blank area of desktop and select properties. In Win 98, ME, XP, select the Settings tab. I forgot atm what it's called in Vista or 7, or eve XP with the modern layout, but it will be there somewhere.

I'm pretty sure if you can find what I mentioned before, about changing the font face, you can change the base size also, but I'm not 100% positive on that as it's been a long time since I played with it at all.

If nothing else works, you can always, copy the good toon's UI INI file over top of the bad ones. copy UI_goodcharacter_server.INI UI_badcharacter_server.INI

Hope this helps some.

Gah...I replied to your post yesterday, Yther, and apparently it didn't post. Many apologies as I sincerely appreciate all the help you've given to me.

Yes to both.

I haven't tried this on the toon in question yet, but made a throwaway toon on another server and it had the exact same issue. I am running XP and my desktop resolution is 1280x1024. I did not find this resolution as a choice on the EQ Options video options. Will give it a try on my main toon with this issue.

I changed the font face and size thanks to the information you previously provided. It worked wonderfully on the chat window but for some reason did not change the font where I type. I can't find this in any Google search either.

Heading out to try this now.

You have been so very helpful in answering my questions. Thank you so very much. :)

UPDATE - The last method (copying good toon's UI INI file to the toon with which I was having trouble) worked. Woot!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
