Loved the list you made up. Very benefical to use.

Great list, thanks bbot.

Is it true that they have now changed it so that they are random drops off of any mobs in the zone?

That's at least what everybody's saying...

I personally have seen the Dranik's augment drop from 3 different mobs, all close to the Priests of Discord.

I just came back so consider this a newb question (in the form of several):

Was Kurn's a hotzone recently as an augment dropped there the other day. And if so, does this mean former hotzones still drop augs as well? Or did they just add some augment drops to some old zones anyways?

Yes, Kurns was a hotzone, and yes, apparently the augs are still dropping in previous hot zones.

I thought, at first, that this was unintentional and would be getting changed, but after hearing some chatter in-game, I'm not so sure. At any rate, there's probably a post over at the SoE EQ forums about whether or not the hot zone augs become permanent drops in these zones.

Bump, and suggestion that this information be added to a list of the previous hotzone augments, and stickied (possibly)?

(All from Unmasked Changelings)
Kurn's Tower - Minor Stone of Power
Unrest - Lesser Stone of Power
Tower of Frozen Shadow - Stone of Power
Guk (Supposedly Lower, but claimed to drop in both) - Greater Stone of Power
The Hole - Minor Stone of Might
Chardok - Lesser Stone of Might
Old Sebilis - Stone of Might
Grieg's End - Greater Stone of Might
Cazic-Thule - Stone of Greatness
Splitpaw - Stone of Light

(Collective info thanks to bschenk, who made a post with all but the Splitpaw aug in it, and xaanru who posted the stone of light underneath, thereby reminding me =p)

I'd like to wikify this for the hotzone page eventually -- do all of the old hotzone augs still drop?
#15 Oct 13 2007 at 1:00 PM Rating: Good
They all still drop I just got the 40 mana one from GE monday night. I also a few weeks ago landed that wyvern blood aug, +30hp from Skyfire. The augs I think are part of a slow change to make older zones more interesting to exp in for people. Also note the unique global drops still dropping in these zones to boot, mark of lunacy also on monday night. Seems a attempt to upgrade zones overtime for gear/aug. drops.

EDIT: Just remembered, a post on SOE main board from a dev. stated that when the new hotzones come in soon here, any patch now. The james the watchmaker quests will stay in the game. For how long???

Skyfire has a hotzone aug? This I did not know.
#17 Oct 14 2007 at 8:26 AM Rating: Good
Yes Saeel it does you must kill one of two mob types to get the aug.

http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=21696
Wyvern blood
http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=21695
The suspend wurm blood

I am pretty sure, not positive these 2 mobs are the only 2 that can drop it.

I put up a preliminary version of this, here.

I know it still needs info on the james the watchmaker quests, and I may have let a few mistakes slip in.

Suspended Wyvern Blood and Suspended Wurm Blood are no hot zone augs; they have been in game for a very long time.

Skyfire went in as a L50 Hot Zone on June 11 2006. Both these augs were put in with other zonewide drops. Don't remember don't belive me, ok here then.

You can also type in these links from below, and notice nobody talks about those augs until June of 2006.

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=49964

https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=49962

Also note from the 2 links I did in the previous post, you will see no references to either of the two mobs prior to June 2006.

Now the official thread is always deleted by Kytheria, and replaced when a new hotzone listing thread when it comes out. But the mobs and the zonewides, and the augs were inserted in June 2006.

Well, it IS a very long time since June 2006, isn't it? :-P

Ok, I admit it, I was wrong, you're right...
#22 Oct 23 2007 at 6:04 AM Rating: Good
Bbot it isn't I am right, and your wrong. It's two mobs in a zone. If you never came across them, if they didn't drop it when you did. Well hell if you skipped the zone due to god not another cleric epic quest 6 hour adventure deal. Then it was real easy not to know this.

That is why I like the James the watchmaker quests, so far the best of all the ways they have inserted these hotzone augs. You get 2 common, 1 uncommon, 1 rareish drop. 90-120 minutes and done, due turn-in, and don't bonk it, by taking the wrong class option.

Supposedly, the NC augment is a 10ac 50hp aug. Pretty darn nice.

A tip for all on the Halls of Honor aug. If you haven't been informed by anyone already the aug is currently missing an item graphic. When it drops it shows up as nothing and is just like a blank space on the mob's corpse, be certain to check the first open spot on the corpse and keep an eye out or you'll risk missing an already rare enough aug.
