Sebilis was built by Venril Sathir during the height of the Iksar Empire, and was once a stronghold for the Iksars of Kunark.

Following the death of Emperor Ganak and a steady onslaught of slave uprisings, goblin invasions, and forest giant attacks, the Iksar Empire declined in power. Trakanon dealt one of the final blows to the Empire, destroying the city of Sebilis, and was himself mortally wounded as a result.

Presently, the ruins of Old Sebilis are occupied by a clan of Frogloks. Iksar skeletons and ghouls roam the city's old burial grounds while a poisonous, undead Trakanon can be found in a lair far below the main city. Many years following their stronghold's destruction, the Iksars established themselves in Cabilis, far west from the site of a dark moment in their history.

Level 46 is required to enter the zone without a key on the live servers.
Everyone can enter the zone with a key.

Names
# May 29 2001 at 9:05 AM Rating: Good
Been here a few times. Got some really interesting names for the camps. These are the 'common' names on Prexus server. Just so people know (as I did not when I fisrt got to Seb) the names are (with number references to the map on eqatlas.com):
D1 - 11 = Disco 1 (you'll understand when you see it)
D2 - 15 = Disco 2
Jail - 3 = Gangerous Beetle spawn
Necro - 4 = Nercosis Beetle spawn
UZO - 2 = Upper zone out
LZO - 1 (on 2nd map)= Lower zone out
Crypt - 17 = Lots of drops here, including Cane of Tranquil, Heirophant's cloak, etc
King - 2 (on 2nd map)= Guess :P. Though, many people include King on LZO camp.

Hope this helps a little.

it amazes me how people new to the zone don't know where the loots are, so i thought i'd share. described earlier is the "jail" - thats the gangrenous beetle spawn area. he'll drop the (surprise!) gangrenous beetle mask.

the necro spawn is the necrosis scarab - you'll see the tunnel to it and crypt right across from zone out. this is where most will want to be - from this area we've got several VERY nice drops. Lamentation, Crystaline short sword, Runebranded Girdle, Cain of the Tranquil, (getting the idea yet..?)

down towards the D camps (the so called disco-halls) you'll have the Sludged girdle drop, as well as class specific arms, silver etched warhammer, clay guardian sheild, and froglok bonecaster's robe.

the king spawn, if you can get to it, will get you a fungi scaled tunic...

i know this is an incomplete list, but should help ya'll figger out what camp you wantto be in.

..."it amazes me how people new to the zone don't know where the loots are"

Question : how do you know where the loot is when you have never been in the zone ?

People Call the Necrosis Spawn "Pyra" short for Pyramid on Bertox.

Also, past the jail and through a building is the "armorer" or "arm" and past that spawn area is "chef" which drops a really kickass rogue bracer on very rare occasions..

Is the zone-in are safe to LFG or is it insta death for a 52 druid
RE: new to zone
# May 25 2001 at 2:11 PM Rating: Default
Since no one else has replied, I will

It is pretty safe to zone into seb. The first mobs are a little ways off, down a ramp so they won't aggro on you unless you do something silly like take flying leaps off the ramp. In addition, at least on E'ci there are so many people LFG at any time of the day, there is almost always a group or two thats looking for a cleric or enchanter or some other class to finish their group that they are hunting all the entrance spawns down to the exit many times.

Now it could be dangerous if you have someone(s) not familiar with the zone at all trying to pull here. Or even worse i guess is if someone tries to run to the entrance for help rather than the exit(pretty unlikely).
Biggest problem i've found is that as a mage, i often can sit in the entrance for a couple hours at a time before I get a group (54th level). Sometimes i pop in and get one, sometimes not but unless you are a cleric or enchanter (51+, usually 54+ specified for tougher area's) you may have to have a little time to wait.
It gets especially bad after around 7pm as every camp in the zone is taken and you have another 20 people sitting around lfg all at the same time.

Can someone looking for a group zone into Sebilis, alone, and not get killed upon entry?
RE: Zone in
# May 02 2001 at 4:07 PM Rating: Good
Totally, unless some dumbass trains it (which shouldn't happen, because the exit is different than the entrance) and kills everyone. When you zone in, there is a ramp down, and two frogs in alcoves near there, but other than that, it is totally safe.

I am considering organizing a raid on the Crypt. Has anybody raided here and if so are there any strategic considerations. How many and what lvls of groups are required.

You need:
1 Cleric
1 Enchanter
1 Rogue
2 Big Tanks
1 *Random Caster*

I would suggest a Cleric, Enchanter, Rogue, Warrior, Paladin & Shaman. Everyone really should be 51+ but 55 is pretty much the standard.
The hardest part about fighting in the Crypt is waiting for it to be open. It's always camped

Id really suggest:

1 cleric
1 enchanter
1 rogue
1 warrior
1 druid/wiz (for snare/evac)
1 random class. (Mage is useful for coth)

Thats probably the best group for crypt or king or anything else thats a hard camp.

High 40 group question
# Oct 10 2000 at 3:46 PM Rating: Default
We have a high level 40 group that has gone in twice.

Each time we are the lowest 6 in the zone. Yikes. Can be good thou with whats considered trash by others.

We are fighting between "zone in" spot and "zone out" spot. We can clear the hall but cant get out on the first "open area" where you can see the building that has the "zone out" spot.

Is the loot still random? Could we kill 50 of them frogs and maybe get 1 good piece .. or whatever the odds are for "rare" ...??

Also , does Invisibility work at all. We were figuring not based on it being Kunark and the zone being for such high levels.

Rog invis works on some/most mobs I encountered from zone in to crypt.
Hunting the zone-out..

Sebilis cannot be left in the same way you came in. Fairly close to the entrance of the dungeon is a teleporter that takes out directly outside of the dungeon, next to the large red teleporter you used to enter. Hunting the zoneline isn't a bad option for a small, lower level group that can't penetrate deeper in the dungeon, as it gives them the oportunity to immediately flee.

To reach zoneout: From the entrance, you go past the first set of doors, and down the sloping tunnel. Turning left to approach the bridge area, you proceed forward, turn left and come to a large structure on your left - outside of it are several spawns. Directly inside of the structure are two more frogs. Through the door, you come to a room with a door at the end and three alcoves.
In each of these alcoves is a golem. Their assist and aggro radiuses are fairly small - they can be single-pulled by a level 51 character (possibly lower than that, haven't tested it). Through the door is a very small room with a frog in it and the exit out. The exit is a small, transulent ring that hovers a bit off the ground. By moving a bit around in the room, you can break up the spawn very easily, and hopefully get a spell drop or two for your trouble. While not a rewarding camp in Sebilis, this is one of the safest.
RE: Hunting the zone-out..

Just to clarify and correct a few things in the original post:

Outside of the structure (temple) containing the exit are two spawns at the steps. These two frogs are always casters. Typically one will be a shaman and one a wizard. Jins are common but boks spawn occasionally.

Up the stairs inside the first room of the structure are not two but three frogs. Typically one is a warrior and one is a caster with the third being either caster or warrior (although I have seen all 3 as casters). Warriors that spawn here can be zols, dars, or boks with dars most common. Casters can be jin or bok shaman or wizzies.

In the room with the golems, you can safely pull the first two golems singly without aggroing anything else if you are careful. The original poster, however, did not mention that two frogs spawn behind the door to the room containing the teleporter. These two frogs WILL aggro when you pull the third golem unless you are level 57 or so.

The room with the teleporter as I said has two frogs on either side of the door inside the room. Typically at least one will be a caster (wiz/shammy). Frogs here can be zol/dar/bok warriors or jin/bok shammy/wizzies.

If you have nothing better available or a less than well balanced group then the zoneout camp can be a decent location to grind while waiting to fill out your group, wait for something better to open, or simply pass a little time.

Carefull of the last golem before the zone. our puller had trouble pulling singles there. We had a shammy so all 3 mobs were at least slowed. The reward for this area is great safe experience.
RE: Hunting the zone-out..
# Mar 13 2001 at 11:28 AM Rating: Default
Grind out experience all day here. This place can handle non-stop pulls easily, just set up camp and start working on those GOD DAMNED BLUE EXPERIENCE BUBBLES THAT NEVER FRICKIN MOVE!

On a lighter note, The Golems rarely drop the Froglok Scale Chestplate, 24 AC 5 WIS/INT 3 CHA. These are kick-*** BP's for Shaman, Clerics, Rangers & Rogues. Mainly Shaman wear em though. These are Green Banded-looking tunics.
The jail for gems...

Just the other night, I camped the "jail" area in Sebilis for the first time. The jail is located by this: in Sebilis, past the first set of door, down the little tunnel to the right to the bridge area, turn right and go across the small bridge. After those few spawns, you turn left into the structure there, and go straight. You'll come to an area with iron bars/gates - dubbed the "jail". Inside this are four cells, each with an iksar necromancer in them. They're high-40s necromancers, who do not summon pets. Here's the fun part. About 80% of the time, they dropped a fire opal. Fire opals are gems that cannot be bought from vendors, although there is a quest in Temple of Solusek Ro where you can give around 600 gold for one. They sell to a vendor for around 48pp. At the back of the jail is a room with two frogs (can be dars or shamans, jins I think) and a scarab. The scarab can either be a placeholder called a leprous scarab or a named spawn, the gangrenous scarab. The leprous scarab ranged from 49-51 and the gangrenous was level 52 both times we killed him. The leprous scarab dropped a jacinth one of the times we killed it, which is a gem normally dropped in the planes. The gangrenous dropped an elder spiritist helm one time and a gangrenous mask the other.

I have been told the iksar necromancers have rare drops that are much more valuable, but I was very impressed with the frequency of them dropping valuable gems.

Aye, the jail is a great place. My first night in Sebilis we camped the jail and were actually only there a few hours. MANY gems dropped and the of the last Necros we killed dropped a Silver Etched Warhammer which i won the roll on. Stats were 24/38 +5sta +5cha and i soon afterwards traded it for a pair of Efreeti Boots, though i coulda prolly gotten more for it. Anyway, it was a great night and I have been fighting in Sebilis regularly since. My second time in a Crystalline Short Sword dropped in the bug room! (I lost roll though) Oh, the fun in Sebilis, gotta love that place!

Looking for the Iksar blood that drops off these Necromancers. Getting close to being able to get there myself but if you are on Druzzil Ro looking me up. I will pay 50pp each for the Iksar bloods.

Don't bother that way. Kill Iksar Exiles in Lake of Ill Omen gets you Iksar Blood sometimes without losing your cabilis faction.
