Ssraeszha Temple is the Luclin stronghold of the Shissar. Originally from Kunark and driven away by the Greenmist, the Shissar were once thought to be extinct. Instead, they used their magic to relocate to Luclin. Found in the Grey, it is the last remaining temple of the Shissar.

Fellowship campfires do not work in this zone.

Level 55 is required to enter the zone and the Emperor's chamber without a key on the live servers.
Everyone can enter the zone and the Emperor's chamber with a key.

Where on the third floor is this imperial guard room? Been everywhere up there except past the 2 locked doors. Do you have to have a lockpicker class to get to this room? A short detailed walkthrough from the zone in would be nice =)

Dropped tonight while farming Shissar scales. I have spent countless hours in zone farming shissar scales... never once have I seen that drop before. Any idea what it is for?

How much help should a 61 Bst plan to bring to the Temple? Or, is it likely I could solo here?
I am at the point in my Cultural Armor that I should start working on Master Swatches, and I would prefer to farm over buying supplies. The thread costs enough.

Just to let you know that a 65 necro and a 65 bard duo in mines easy. 70% slow from necro and both necro and bard can charm. Alot of dps with pets and we hunted for 4 hours and not even close to a death. The mana free lull from bard helps the most.

Hello:

Just wanted to throw my $.02 in since I've been doing a lot of camping in the mines lately. I box a 65 Monk and Shaman team that have ornate-level gear and around 100AA each. The mines are quite a challenge with this team but aren't overwhelming.

First thing to note that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere else:

Skeletons in the mines have some initial agro against casters

Not sure if that statment is 100% accurate; but there is something that draws their attention to my shaman before a single spell is cast. Given that mobs come in groups this can spell doom. Almost every time I died it has been because of this.

To give an example, I have the monk pacify one mob and pull another. 2-3 may still come back with him. He stops before the shaman and turns to tank. Mobs still rush shaman even though she is futher away, standing, and hasn't cast a spell. Doesn't happen 100% of the time so maybe its only a single mob type that does it. Not a problem unless she eats a few HTs and gets low health aggro.

Some other things of note:

* Most mobs are SOW'ed and will run at low health
* Casters will gate
* Aggro ranges are large. Expect 3-5 on a pull without pacify
* Invis to undead will allow you to run around the mines unaccosted
* XP is pretty poor

There are probably 3 things that would bring a team down here:

* Strange Green Metal
* Dusty Soriz Worker's Pouch
* Luclid Shard

The strange green metal will drop from any of the 5 named down there. My best luck has been with Hilog Jarsith. Hilog also drops the Dusty Soriz Worker's Pouch. So, if you are after either of those I'd recommend doing his camp.

To get to Hilog get to the mines then work your way to the 3rd mine cart. This will be in an aclove on the left as you go down the main tunnel. There are 3 spawns there and Hilog's spawn is closest to the cart. The metal seems to be his common from my experience.

If you are after the shard you will want to go further in. Drops are best deep in the mines. I recommend going to the "T" intersection where you can make a left to head to the ZI from the Deep (which is 1-way unfortunately). Instead of going left go right and stop just inside the side tunnel where there are only 2 skeletons in agro range. You can fight these two, then pull the ones around them in pairs. Still not extremely easy, but easier than fighting your way down there.

Hope this helps a few of you.

Healing & Agro
# Mar 07 2004 at 1:37 PM Rating: Decent
We took a raid group of 12 in, one cleric and a shammy for healers. (A druid for back up) We were using dots heals as well as CH and were not getting agro. I can only remember getting hit one time and that was when a mob popped right where I was sitting and medding. The tank was able to get the agro off me easily. The raid party was lvls 45-65.

You have to kill 1 Mob.

Blood of Ssraeshza
http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=8721
Now the trick with killing this one mob is the 8 others around it.

4 Mezzable but not Slowable
4 Slowable but not Mezzable

Don't kill them cause they respawn in 1 minuite after they die.

You need to Tank Mez 4 of them and Mez 4 of them and keep them occupied for the entire fight.

Get your loot done and everyone gather on your CC Team and AE TL. If anyone gets left behind or has to camp there you need a Necro Express to get the corpse to zone in.

CC Mobs
Two Tormentors - mezzible, unslowable
Two Slayers - mezzible, unslowable
Two Devourers - unmezzible, slowable
Two Malignants - unmezzible, slowable

Hope that helps

Don't go here for xp, that's for sure. With the new xp rules, at level 60 you get as much xp from a level 45 mob as a level 52 mob. Given that most of the first floor (and a lot of the stuff throughout the whole temple) is low 50's, you'd be MUCH better off going elsewhere. Level 52 mobs quading for 270 per hit and over 1k per round (unslowed) haha. This whole zone is all about a quest grind to get keys to get to the REAL mobs which drop the good loot. In order to get there, you have to kill lots and lots of boring, underconned, no loot mobs.

Whether or not it was intended this way, best way to play this zone is to go with a HUGE raid group and just grind the mobs up, since all you want are the key pieces. Forget the single party stuff - total waste of time. You'd do BETTER with xp by going to an old world zone like seb and killing the EASY level 52 mobs.

***EDIT***
Since I first wrote this note much has changed with the way they handle xp in the game. It is NO LONGER true that level 45 mobs give as much xp as level 52 mobs, and if you can kill mobs that are within a level or two of your abilities, you start to see an exponential effect - i.e. an even con now gives you 4x the experience of a mob just a few levels lower. Since Verant has switched the xp rules, they have changed the game substantially - and made the risks of going into some of the harder zones more appropriate.

10 of us, 52-57, decided to check out the Temple. Our monk could single pull the first room, but past that we were getting two mobs each time. Since those Temple Patrollers hit in the 270's, keeping everyone alive until the enchanter could GoK the 2nd was a challenge!

Been looking for some info on Shissar Bane weapons. Not finding much of anything. Was wondering if someone could gimmie some info on how these are aquired, and if they are needed for anyone else in zone other than Emporer Ssra.

I know that one of the items needed is Shissar Warsword, and that the end result is a Corrupted Shissar Warsword, but to this point this is all the info i have managed to find. :\

Any info you can give would be greatly appriciated.

The shissar bane weapons quest is at the link below:
https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=1998

Shissar bane weapons hit for 20's minimum whereas a lot of other non-bane weapons will hit for much less due to the high ac of Ssra mobs. They also have nice stats to boot (but many guilds capable of farming shissar-bane weapons here will have some better all-around weapons). Plus the emporer is immune to normal melee, so these are a must-have for his encounter. So for all the work to get the weapon, at least it is useful in Ssra.
Lewt Frequency?

I'm not thinking of going to this place for fun.

I would like to know the drop rate that you are all getting here...

There are some nice lvl 50 multiple creature drops in this zone, and I'm wondering what you all got in the time frame you were there.

Is it worth trying the first level or so with a group or two, or would we wind up with the whole day gone and only one item (which I would end up rolling a 17 on)?

(Assume a couple groups who know what they're doing... that will help narrow down my responses)
RE: Lewt Frequency?
# Apr 25 2002 at 11:36 AM Rating: Decent
Unless your sole purpose in this zone is going after named mobs your not gonna find anything but a few twink weapons. The elite guards drop some weapons that are decent to good for a lvl 45 player, but that is about it. You will find that you can get some casters spells off of random mobs here as well, but i would imagine the casters in your group would claim those and melee basicaly gonna get shafted. now take 5 or 6 groups up and do the first couple rhags and that is a whole different story.

Good luck on your journeys.

The weapon drops from the Elites were not designed to be used as is. They are forged with metal from the mines in the basement for making bane damage weapons vs Ssra (the only melee weapons capable of damaging the emporer)

This is more of a raid zone to take down the named mobs that drop high end spells and gear.

"You will find that you can get some casters spells off of random mobs here as well, but i would imagine the casters in your group would claim those and melee basicaly gonna get shafted"

Yeh, i imagine casters should get the CASTER spells. As for melee getting shafted, don't worry.. you still have Kunark and Velious.. and the old world for that matter, where you can shaft casters all the time.
