Freeport is the gateway into Antonica, acting as a hub of sorts for the continent. After the trek across the Ocean of Tears, visitors dock in the Freeport Harbor and check in with the Port Authority.

The eastern part of Freeport is home to the Freeport Militia, the League of Antonican Bards, Steel Warriors, Dismal Rage, and Coalition of Tradesfolk Illegal.

At the southern tip of the city is the gate to the Desert of Ro. Within the Arena run by the Steel Warriors is a massive statue of the Maiden of Rage, Sullon Zek. This statue acts as the portal into the Plane of Rage.

EFP tunnels via shad guild

In the shadow knight and nec guild hold up under the slums, there is a passage to the rear that zones to west freeport tunnels. Now I am fairly new in FP, havin my first character on Luclin FINALLY lvl 10 shadow knight, and stuck my nose apparently where it did not belong. I ventured down the tunnel, having heard of the FP tunnels that serve to get us evil classes around without getting KOS'd by paladins, and the good news is I found no Paladins. The BAD news is that something called a drowned citizen, more specifically several of them, mugged my then 8 lvl SK and beat him to death. Luckily, I was able to enlist the help of a friend to retrieve my corpse from their clutches. However, my question is if these tunnels are supposed to be for moving about unbeknownst to the goody npc's, why are there dangerous critters in them, that could catch a newby by surprise? Well, I guess everything has its risks, but I thought that kind of strange, but whatever. I guess I'll have to be more careful.

East Freeport is an area that is frequently overlooked by newbies. Outside the South Gate, there is a newbie area that is approximatly the same size as the one in West Freeport, except there is usually little or no competition for kills. There are two guards there as well, and vendors are close by.

There are also two quests that can be very beneficial that start in East Freeport. In the entrance to the evil class/religion part of the city (under the tavern and through an illusionary wall), there the are two NPC's that give the quests. You should be able to find them quickly. One is Nystral, a female dark elf, the other is a male dwarf standing next to a male human. I am a High Elven Cleric who worships Tunare, and neither were KoS to me, leading me to believe that almost any Class/Race/Religion combination can safely do these quests. What follows is a spoiler of some sorts, but since these quests are so easy and quick it shouldn't really spoil anything.

***SPOILER***

Nystral will begin talking to you when you /hail her. Follow the prompts until she mentions [Janam and Rebby's]. Ask "Where is Janam and Rebby's?" and she will give you a note to bring to Rebby (more on that in a bit). Nearby (not in the same room) is the dwarf. The man next to him asks for some Dwarven Ale, if you give some to him, you get no faction, and xp. The dwarf tells you he needs some help. You do not have to buy the man any Dwarven Ale, you can just say to the dwarf "What message?". The message is to Janam in West Freeport.

In West Freeport, by the monk guild are a couple of merchants (who don't sell anything), Janam and Rebby. When you give each their respective notes, you will get experience. Janam gives you a note to deliver back to the dwarf, and Rebby says nothing at all. In your inventory there will be an item called "Rebby's Rat Whiskers". Give the whiskers to Nystral and the note to the dwarf. Here's the good part about these quests: You will gain faction with Freeport Milita, Coalition Tradesfolk, and a few others. The best part about this is that you will take no faction hits. You will also gain a little bit of cash, but not much. If you are a casting class, you can bind by either Janam and Rebby or Nystral, and you will only have to run half as much if you gate. A few hours of doing this will get you very good faction with the Freeport Militia (good for paladins and clerics) and several others. Not to mention like 1 pp :p

Good luck in East freeport :)

The two note delivery quests are without a doubt some of the best faction quests in the entire game. You can use these quests to boost a whole bunch of "corrupt" group factions spanning all the way to Qeynos without taking any negative faction hits. Look at these web pages for more info on these quests.
