Sebilis was built by Venril Sathir during the height of the Iksar Empire, and was once a stronghold for the Iksars of Kunark.

Following the death of Emperor Ganak and a steady onslaught of slave uprisings, goblin invasions, and forest giant attacks, the Iksar Empire declined in power. Trakanon dealt one of the final blows to the Empire, destroying the city of Sebilis, and was himself mortally wounded as a result.

Presently, the ruins of Old Sebilis are occupied by a clan of Frogloks. Iksar skeletons and ghouls roam the city's old burial grounds while a poisonous, undead Trakanon can be found in a lair far below the main city. Many years following their stronghold's destruction, the Iksars established themselves in Cabilis, far west from the site of a dark moment in their history.

Level 46 is required to enter the zone without a key on the live servers.
Everyone can enter the zone with a key.

I generally sit at ZI and wait for someone(s) to start clearing their through and politely ask them if I can tag along. At 60, I'm a bit wary of trying to solo my way down there since I lack Torpor and my level 61 pet.

Dropping down from the bridges that lead to either Disco, Guard or Jail is a great spot to fish. Just drop down, get on the ledge and start fishing.

I go AFK in this spot all the time without ever getting agro. This is an excellent place to fish, very quiet and peaceful. I don't even keep gate up.

Good luck with those Kunzar Koi. :)

Maybe. You'll need to just jump down into the river. There's some shores and stuff down there that you could sit and fish from, and you should be well out of agro range of the mobs up top. There might be some other spots, but you're pretty safe here. I wouldn't recommend trying to run/swim out once you're down there, so bring your Succor spell with you.

Go out to trak teeth, kill the hunter and the forager, loot both halfs of key, turn em in to a mob in a cave in the zone. Theres a spoiler somewhere on this site.

Heya all !

I am wondering, if it would be safe for a group / myself to go group in OS at 51, as a druid...
Thanks to tell me if i can begin to move in, (got an average stuff, not *even* thurg armor, but oh well) or if i have to continue beeing trained all day long in karnor =)

Thanks a lot !

It's not real easy to describe how to get down to the 2nd level. But if you zone into Sebilis and head south down the hallway that you are facing, you eventually come to a door. If you go through that door, the passage takes a right turn (west). It then goes a short distance and turns left (south) again. At this point, there is a big rock and you can see B1 (bridge 1) just a short distance away. The bridge is, of course, over water. If you jump into the water (location -220, +175), swim all the way to the bottom and head to the northwest, you will see a hole in the bottom of the floor. If you go down this hole, you well end up in a room (the pipe room, it's sometimes called) and you are at the beginning of the lower levels of Sebilis.

By the way, the way I have just described needs to be cleared of frogs, of course. The entry hall, the big rock, and the room that you swim down into all have frogs that spawn in those locations. There are no frogs in the water though, so swimming to the "pipe room" should be safe. Hope this helps.

That was a temporary bug and has been fixed. You do need the key in your possession or on your king ring in order to enter Sebilis.
RE: key dont need
# Aug 19 2002 at 11:31 AM Rating: Excellent

Actually, you DO need a key. It is possible that it was a bug that was fixed with last patch, but I just tried last night to enter Seb w/ no key and got the message, "It is locked, and you are not holding the key." Also, it will appear to those who have keys, but not on their person that you no longer need a key, as the whole key ring thing eliminates the need to actually have it with you. At any rate, I had no key and could not get in. So, the Froglok Hunter becomes the Hunted!

Sorry but you have to get a key. Get the medallions off the froglock forager and the froglock hunter in Traknon Teeth, and turn in to the emperor. Not to difficult, just takes a bit to find them. Just take a decent tracker with you.

Hi,
I am a level 45 Rogue and I am wondering how far I can go with hide/sneak without being seen by a frog. Also about what level do I need to be to get a group down there? Also could I get from the entrance to the exit with hide/sneak?
RE: Hide/Sneak
# Oct 03 2002 at 11:34 AM Rating: Decent
As always, you have a *chance* of being seen by any mob. that said, I usually have no troubles sneaking past the rock at the end of the zin ramp. Once there, there is a see invis wizard frog that will nail you. So you had best be able to train out zout - hopefully you will not get snared or rooted.

Pretty much any class would have to wait till 50+ to get a group here, however the higher your level the more likely it is that you'll get a group.

You should be about 51 or so to come to seb that way u can get a grp. The frog to most worry about are the shamans and wizards. The Jin (for some resaon /shrug) and the Ilis seem to see thru hide/sneak more often.

Greetings, shaman here. I am a bit into 50th season and have my key waiting to be used. I do have a question. Other than my buffs, I realize "%T is SLOWED" is my key attribute. How often, if ever will it stick?....if there wasn't an enchanter in group to Tsh, which seems unlikely here. Basically, is it realistic for me to come here?

Shaman are useful here pretty much anytime over 49 but become really nice at 53 and above with turgur's insects. It is a quick and powerful slow that sticks most of the time on normal lvl range mobs. You may need to use malisement/tash on mobs higher lvl than or named.

The imperial guardians in the crypt are an example of this. I first grouped here at 53 or 54 and did pretty well, however a debuff is really needed to be effective on these. Hope that helps! :)

I have a 56 shammie and take him here often. I duo with a 55 cleric as well. Shammies are a must in Seb, but not a good place to solo. Have done many CR's because I thought I could fight in to the exit and pull to there. Many mobs here see invis, and there are lots of adds. If you can get in a good group this zone is excelent for a shammie any time after 53 but at 56 it is better because bane of nife is excelent for taking down the adds, and with a good 2hb you can assist tank nicely. Just be careful and dont try to go in here without a good strong group.

UBER ROGUES! Im curious what lv rogue you need to recover corpses here? Im sick of bugging other groups, players or making coffin runs for that dredded Summon corpse. I remember a low 40s rogue doing some corpse recovery to the Bar area. I happen to have a lv 36 rogue that I want to park there so my cleric would have a lil back up if ya know what I mean :) THANKS

Ok, the 36 rogue would become frog food. The shamans and wizards tend to see thru even high lvl rogue's hide/sneak sometimes. At 53 i can get to "most" corpses without problems, but there is always the random see invs frog to worry about.

King
# Nov 10 2001 at 3:11 PM Rating: Decent
Here's some info on doing the king:
Group should be 55+, ideally with a higher main tank, enchanter, snarer, slower, and of course a cleric. After fighting past the jail, and heading past the lower exit(stay to the right, you don't want to agro the exit) Best idea is to invis head to the safe corner in the King spawn room. You must keep an eye out for wanderers, there are lots of them and they can become a real pain. If king is not up, you wait for roamers to clear to pull the platform. Decide on a plan before pulling with platform so everyone knows what they should be doing, mezzing, slowing, etc. If the shrooms all happen to be warriors/reavers this should be easy, but thats not usually the case. They have semi decent MR so they should be tashed of course. Stunning is key here because the adepts and priests CH. Many times you won't die from the priest/adept who is CHing but the adds will prolly get ya if you take too long on each mob. Just a lil info from my experience down there a number of times. Hope it helps. Best single pick-up group I had down there:
60 Rogue(epic)
60 Cleric(epic)
57 Warrior
58 Shaman
56 Druid(epic) me
55 Enchanter

Last night we were camping the crypt and got emporor to spawn, not only once, but TWICE in a row. Im told that's a once in a lifetime experience, so with a group of 50-54 we managed to take him out both times. The first time all but me (Cleric) and the main tank (54 war) died and belive me it was close fer us to, like last drop of mana to CH tank when he had 500 or so HP's left. Anyhow the other time the chanter pulled by dispelling him, and all survived and it was not even close. So a tip, try and dispell him as soon as ya can, it works wonder. He droped 2 swords and 2 spells, and I didnt win the sunstrike one :(

Was in crypt and first go at emperor he gated(even though both chanter, and paladin, and cleric all stunned.....) after corpse retrieval we came back and took him out no problem the second time.

Just thought I'd share a fun story.

This was on my Necro on Rallos, not Paladin.
Crypt Strategy
# Sep 20 2001 at 5:14 PM Rating: Default
I figured I'd post a strategy on the Crypt area. First of all, don't go into the crypt without an Enchanter, Cleric, and Rogue(Duh!). The guards in the crypt are truly a pain, but are also the only hard part about camping the crypt. To break the spawn, have the Enchanter pull the left guard by mezzing the right guard. Dispathing these guards isn't terribly tough, but one mistake can cost the group dearly. The Enchanter should focus on debuffing and nuking the left guard while also keeping the right guard mezzed. If the right guard breaks mez, he will either attack the group or CH his buddy. The Rogue should obviously focus on backstab and evade. The Cleric should focus on healing group members and stunning the guards every time they begin casting spells. Having a Paladin in the group takes a big load off the Cleric. After the first guard is dispatched, wait about 3 minutes before attacking the other. That way you are guaranteed a break in the spawn. From there on, it's pretty easy. Your group will have a better chance of survival if you stay in this area. I have been in many groups that insist on killing the emperor along with the other four spawns. It can be done, but it may come back to haunt you! Oh yea, and watch out for the roaming Dar Knights and their evil Harm Touch!

Took my 49 warrior into Seb a couple weeks ago, had another warrior who was 51, a 54 druid, a 53 cleric and a 54 chantie. We fought in the disco room and had a blast, not one death. Got over 3 yellows in less than 2 hours, it was fast paced, no let up to speak of, and just constant carnage. Loved it.

Magicians
# Aug 05 2001 at 1:04 PM Rating: Good
Magicians are also well liked here because of their air pets. (stun actually works, neato) Comes in handy when people are rellyin on that pally or cleric to chain stun when they could be healin. CoH pulling works great on pullers (obvious reasons and if your rich heh) And if the stuns are not stick from the air pet, a quick shot of mal will solve that problem. Mal isnt all that aggro as a chanters tash. Magicians can feed Mod Rods to Clerics and healers.

quick note: for those that belive that pets are out of control in dungeons, if your with a magician that knows what hes doing its no prob at all.

Side note: CoH is good for dragging that last min warrior who has some mobs between him and the magician hehe.

VERY iffy. Every time i've tried i'm seen more than i'd like to be (often resulting in death). The best thing to do is, as you're waltzing around "invised" con EVERY creature you see long before you get to it. If they are indifferent you will probably be ok. If they con "wants to dance on your guts" or some such thing....you best back off and try sneak/hide again. I've actually been in a situation where i've conned something, wasnt indifferent and tried several times to sneak/hide again and never been able to succesfully hide from them. Remember, this is a high lvl dungeon and as such is going to make the higher lvl Rogue's life a living hell.
Hunting Here
# Jul 24 2001 at 9:03 AM Rating: Default
I am currently a level 49 warrior. I used to level up mainly in outdoor zones, but lately I have been hunting primarily in Lower Guk and Solusek B to prepare my dungeon skills, because I know I will need them for 50+.

One time I hunted in Trakanon's Teeth and got one of the medallions needed for the Old Sebilis key. Soon I'll be going back for the other medallion.

I have a few questions concerning this dungeon. From what I have read, it seems like I'll pretty much be living here at high levels. But what level could I go here and have a chance at getting in some good groups? Also, is there any chance of getting a group during primetime hours? School is out, and I can get on early in the morning to get groups easier, but when school starts, I won't have this option.

Thank you all for your help. Any other general advice you could provide about OS would be greatly appreciated as well.

some classes, Rogues & Clerics for instance can do ok at 49, but really, should be at least 52 as a warrior - course, really depends on how twinked out you are (i mean, if you have a full set of Kael Quest armor, then you'll be fine at 49..lol) and what race too. Ogres with more hitpoints might be able to make it here a level before a gnome in the same gear... but as a general rule, most of the best camps are still 55. Bards are loved post 54, same with chanters 50+

RE: how many?

It is a very popular zone, and it is normally crowded. It hard to find a group if you are a tank and espacially if you are a tank lower than lvl 55. You pretty much need a full group. Cleric, monk or rogue, 2x tanks, chanter, shammy. Exp and loot are great once you get into a group. Easiest way to go about exp and loot in seb is get on in the mourning when there isnt a lot of ppl on and find a good group then stay in taht group all day long ). Good Luck.
