The Valley of Lunanyn can be divided into two sections:
The northern area is of Tier 1 difficulty and consists of green terraces and farm fields.
Buried under here is the body of the god, Lunanyn, whose blood fuels the fertility of the farmland and allows the growth of enough food to feed all of Alaris.
Solusek Ro has come upon this area and, in his short stay, has already caused damage to the terraces.

The southern area is of Tier 2 difficulty and consists of a large, open, war-torn valley, an area ravaged as a result of the ongoing war between Argath and Erillion.
Rallos Zek has come upon this area and, like Solusek Ro, has had a damaging impact on the valley.

I was hunting here for the first time, killing Wraiths. Every so often a tremendous wave of lag would come through my area. 6 others were in zone and they acted like it was usual. Is it? WTF?

91 level ranger with max headshot can headshot 90- level mobs. tried it on tired farmers and normal farmers that were a lvl or two below me, and it worked :)

Ratbo Peep over on the Daybreak official forums makes an interesting comment on the changes to headshot and application in the current game (significant if you were away from EQ in recent years).

It was a parlour trick in it's old form - exploited for power-leveling for profit. Now it's a "tool", but best used wisely.
One good example of HS being a tool in it's own right, is if you catch Xioulos Scouts as the "middle set" of MoBs in the Gribble HA "Scouting Ahead. (You can check this on "track" at the beginning).
If they are indeed Scouts - they are blue and therefore subject to HS. If I see this, I save the discs for that section, pop an "archery burn" and pretty much mow them down. The burn itself is plenty of DPS, and under those conditions the HS procs go up a bit - making it all the faster. I've gotten 7+ HS procs out of that section of MoBs several times.

Valley of Lunanyn, unless you're bound there, remains a PITA to get to. I detest running thru Argath, with no lev and getting lost in all the tunnels and ramps. So I port to Alra, evac to the zoneout for Resplendent Temple, zone to there, evac again, zone into Sarith and then run the short distance, avoiding SI mobs, to the Lunanyn zone. As far as I can tell, the zone connection for Lunanyn within Resplendent Temple is one way... i.e. only FROM Lunanyn TO Temple, so that's no good to get to Lunanyn.

We need a druid or wiz port to Lunanyn, like we have for the Grounds! Remember the druidic creed: NEVER USE YOUR FEET WHEN YOU CAN CAST A PORT SPELL! Smiley: lol

NEC run, had no problems except for the first few times
Sitting for the choppa wasi actually a bit nostalgic, and the flight is one a few minutes. After time, it became moreso a pain, so I did bind in Argath . Better to have known the layout in the long run: spell vendor, easy enough soloable named, insta-clicky likes to send me here sometimes...

The druid way just sounds more complicated.
Melee classes don't get Levant
Nor my Lv.74 shaman
But hey, I box a bard and I can tell you how hard it is getting around now without. Selos

I'm sure if you do it often enough it becomes a trivial run. But at first it's a pain. Argath is a multi-level zone with confusing maps and no lev permitted, to boot. I haven't HAD to go thru it in a long time but my memories are all negative. There are some zones like that, which once you're thru with you'd be happy never to see again. Another one is Abysmal Sea, whose name is ironically very appropriate. The epic augment quest for druid passes thru there and it reminded me of how much of a PITA that zone is as well.

Throw in the "new and improved" Freeport and IMO you have a triad of zones that seem to have been designed to frustrate the weary traveler.

I went there for the first time this week. I used the pathfinder system (Control+F) to navigate to the zone line. I ran through invis with no problems. Took around a minute. Just go down stairs, down the spiral to the bottom, and then run in the cave.

Putting this out there because somebody sent me a private tell a month ago asking how to fix the Mabus faction. I didn't see it until yesterday.

I'm KoS to farmers but use a macro to say the right quest words, he gives them to me anyway.

Sarith still the only place I know of to fix the faction.

There is no faction report other than the amiable, dubious, etc. messages. Before I started EQ, 2002 or 2003 IIRC from forum posts, EQ actually send down the faction numbers and the packet parsers pulled them out. Then EQ went secretive. Now we live mostly in the dark. w/o some dilligent soul doing some experiments we'll stay that way. I did roughly test the numbers myself, it was pretty close to 1-1 for faction hit/repair. For every farmer you kill (or tree) you must kill one Sarith mob to break even.

You killed too many farmers. Head to Sarith (south) kill a bunch of the stuff there to equal out your faction again.

if you still doing the Hot quests then your still going to kill farmers some times.

its been a while but this is what i did after i sent a /bug report and got nothing back
but his was before I kill whole lot of farmers for the hot daily quests?

I used the quest words found on the sites like this to say the right quest words, he gives them to me anyway

Request Phrase: I'll help with fertilizing the fields
Request Phrase: I'll help with vermin infestation
Request Phrase: I'll help with reaping the harvest

while i was in valley i was grouped with a 100 rogue(elvira) and a 87 monk(xilm)and two mercs .it took 5 dark blues and 1 yellow to get 1% experience =600 kills to get from 0% to 100% exp.the makeup of the group might make the outcome different then mine.hope this information helps in leveling.leveling in valley is way faster then grounds.

this zone is called a hot zone for exp. gained. the exp. in this zone sucks. I don't know what going on but I can tell you killing dark blues to a level 95 is horrible. Even with the full party bonus. after eight hours grinding I got one yellow bulb and that was using my veterans reward lesson of the devoted. the grounds seems to have twice the exp. as this zone, just my reflection

Farmers: We'd been away a couple years, first thing we did was (one of the popups recommended it) was do the level 90 quest in Lunanyn. We did that for a week or two and apparently the farmer quest reduced our faction enough to not allow us to take mabus quests in there. We didn't even look until we'd been in there a while.

I've looked a while now and cannot find a single post about how to raise faction with this guy.

The farmers you can kill, they do reduce faction but not enough to cause you any concern.
Zone in?
# Nov 26 2011 at 11:06 AM Rating: Default
At the bottom of the ramp down from the upper part of Argath but not in the belly/ on both side of the ramp there are entrances. One side looks like a cave and that takes you to Lunanyn. there is a pool of water at then end of the cave and the ZI is in the water.
