being a guide for 3 years i miss the place and my guide toon was bound on top of TOFS.I'd summon players that had been bad to my bind to chat with them, was fun being able to summon ppl from anyplace including other guides.
CShome was made to replace thier previous home for training new guides/hanging out, which was the Plane of Air.
Use to spend more time in PoA then CShome, until the deaths of players due to poor planning was blamed on the Guides/GM and were prohibited from being in the planes unless it was petition related. Stupid people also ruined the ability to explore high end zones before normal players would ever work there way to them. More stupid people caused the ability to walk around and fight in the form of any of the gods to be limted to quests.
He probably became a Guide with the best of intentions, and then, in trying to help people and make the game better for them, became disillusioned when he learned just how stupid people really can be.
Very possible Santonin. That is what ended it for me. It started by wanting to share my love of EQ and became tedious when I realized the people that showed up were only interested in acting the fool. Of course in retrospect being in a guild should have taught me that.
that isn't true at all, if you go on to eq emu forums people will give you the sunset home files and you can make it a part of your own private server.
I have been there, I am not and never have been a Guide/GM.
and this "Normal players will never see this zone." It is shockingly easy to get to this zone, not on a live server. But a normal player can get there.
SoE only provides the zone files for sunset home to gms and guides. They are sent out through email and can be downloaded via a guide/gm only portal on a secure server.
are there actually peeps there or is it desirted? and how exactly do ya'll get there. i know the consumer eq doesn't even have the zone files for that zone. but do you port, ect?
Sunset has alot of things in it, an arena for gms to duel eachother, all the merchants for getting items n stuff. It has a npc walking around that tells stories of other gms and guide who have passed on in RL. And the only way to get there is to /goto sunset. Kencho 7th Hammer Monk
The only think you didn't mention here is that it's a guide/GM zone only. This is NOT a zone for players to visit at all and doing so can, and likely will get your account banned.
Having been here as a guide, I can say that it's a great zone full of history as well as functionality for the guides/GMs to setup and practice quests and/or events and even just to hang out in.
