Guild Lobby

Quick Facts

Dragons of Norrath

Level Range:
1 - 125

The Guild Lobby is non-combative and entirely safe. Buff timers don't tick down here and given that this is the zone where players tend to gather en masse, it's a good spot to pick up some mass-group buffs, find people LFG, and so forth.

If you're looking for a guild (or your guild is looking for players), check out the message boards on either side of the zone. (/lfguild) If you need a corpse summoned, see the corpse summoning NPCs to the east or west. If you want a quick port to a Wayfarer camp, speak with the Magus in the north. If you want to head into the neighborhood zone, find the Sunrise Hills gated entrance in the northwest.

"A Vendor of Reagents" is a new merchant for both sides near the corpse summoners and A Shrewd Banker. They sell the really low level reagents and things like snake scales, fish scales, malachite, etc.

The timers on xp potions are frozen here as well, just like all the other buffs you may have on.

i think that the addition of these things including the veteran rewards bonus are good things. people saying they're awful are just mad they weren't added long ago. I cashed in my veteran rewards and got the summon all corpses and ressurect, I've used it once. i tried to get to the New Hot zone, the old dragon necropolis, and died in sirens grotto. The computer lagged out before I could get to the zoneline, when i thought i had zoned, I had really been standing there getting hit by the stupid bulthars, as a non-tank class i was dead after 13 hits. My frustration was almost exceeded to the point of insanity when i realized i wouldn't be able to loot my corpse because any further attempts to zone into that would be met with the same lag.

instead of having to find/ comission a cleric and necromancer to summon then res my corpse, so i could then get my phat lewts back. I just clicked my new found AAxp ability. And thanked Sony Verant for finally thinking about the little guy.

Now maybe one of these days i'll buy an expansion past POP.

Just returned in mid-2008 after four years.

I had characters who specialised in rescues and corpse recovery.

The fun of that started to fall away when levels 1-10 stopped losing stuff when they died, as they were a good portion of our clientele, and now coming in to see this Guild Lobby thing. Well...what can I say?

I suppose Verant had to do something to help people after Surefall Paramedics left the game! :P

I just started playing EQ again after about a year or so and i found out about the guild lobby.
I think its junk myself. What happend to the days when you wanderd off somewheres like kedge keep at a low lvl (witch i did)and then you die. You didnt go to some guild loby and summon your corpse, you cried for help, and then you and a group of high lvl characters yould go on a corpse recovery mission cause you didnt want to loose all your cool stuff. I used the guild lobby once but it all the fun away. so now i still go and recover my corpse (even if that means invising and draging my corpse all the way across the zone so i can loot)

I have purchased DoN on the date of release, and have never been able to get into the Guild lobby or hall. It seems to be a problem with a handful of people. I have sent a bug report since I am not sure what the cause is. If anyone else is experiencing this problem of late, or have had this problem corrected, please let me know:) A petition is no fun with one name.

Same thing happened to me. But all was fine after I actually loaded the DoN disks. I had just plugged in the CD keys and had the problem you described. After loading the disks, everything worked fine.

while logging into, EQ you see a screen with PLAY, AUTOPLAY, ADVANCED . Click ADVANCED . There are several expansions listed and some languages. Check Mark the box next to DRAGONS OF NORRATH. This will enable your expansion. Check Mark the box next to AutoDownload. Go Play!
stealing jobs
# Mar 30 2005 at 8:47 AM Rating: Decent
What is with the automization of all the things that used to be done by a select group of classes? First we had the Nexus took the job of ports away from the druids and wizards and now you have this....thing taking the job of summon corpse away from the necromancer. Something that we used to get paid well for doing. What's next? Free rezzes, clarities, or why not go all the way and have an automatic buffer at every newbie zone? It's a game, it's supposed to be challenging.

Ok does anyone else find this REALLY stupid, they put corpse summoners in he lobby but no bank in the same zone?! So you need to zone out and back in to either PoK or Guild Hall. They need to create a bank in Guild Lobby also.

What's really stupid is that they're adding things to make the game more and more simplistic. Now there're Clarity & heal potions? Free corpse summonings? Free travel across the world? How about if everyone just spawned with lifetime long full raid buffs? I know that just sounds like extreme sarcasm to just make a point, but four years ago would you've thought there'd be those other three things I just mentioned that're here now?

NO BANK! I say NO to banks in guild lobby, it would just clutter the place with shady deals. Like we need a new place to see cluttered shady deals.

Could you please add to the description a remark about the Magnus? I think it was in the last patch that the Magnus was inserted into the Guild Lobby, inbetween the two doors to the instanced Guild Halls.

An incredibly handy and useful resource to know of rather than running to EC to get a port to a LDoN loc or even Nedaria's Landing to GoD destinations.

It bothers me, sorry.
