New quest item in chardok?

While hunting near the Herbalist shack the other night, we got a strange drop, a weapon called Greenish Metal Shard, 3dmg 27dly -3str -1agi -7MR, I forget who all can use it, it's not no-drop tho. Seems like a quest item considering it dropped of a lvl 55 mob and completely worthless as a weapon.
Any ideas??

2 possibilities

Either a.)Pieces to the Iksar Shadow Knight Greenmist quest.

or

b.) pieces to a quest to finish the Visceral Dagger.

First is more likely, and its likely its not related at all, but those are my guesses

There is a reanimated dragoon in this zone as well, my group found them down by the Ancient guardian/bridge keeper area but they arent tough blue to a 50, just mez them while killing AG or BK otherwise they will jack your party up solid.

These mobs are mainly found in the "beginning" area of Chardok, means the tunnels and the entryfort but can be found anywhere else too:

Di'zok Recruit/Di'zok Undering/ Di'zok Partisan: blue to 53, warrior type of mobs, got random loot like SoEs, Tribal War Boots

Reanimated Conscript, Reanimated Partisan: blue to 53, warrior type, undead, random drops like SBS or SoS

Di'zok Invoker/Di'zok Channeler: blue to 53, wizard type mobs, random drops like Sarnak Arcane Fetish, SoS

Shai'din Partisan/Shai'din Nightfear: blue to 53, SK type mob, no pet

Shai'din Soultrapper/Shai'din Hemlock: blue to 53, necro typ of mobs, got pets except the Hemlocks

Chodikai Whelp/Chokidai Sniffer/Chokidai Growler/Chokidai Wardog: blue till yellow (wardog) to 53, warrior type, procs rabies, may drop Jagged Chokidai Spine

Observer Aq'touz: blue to 53, forgot class, dropped Nathsar Bracer

These mobs are found in the Graveyard area behind the bridge:

Di'zok Cryptmaster/Di'zok Gravebinder: lvl 53 to 54, necro type of mobs, no pets, random drops like SoS

Imperial Gravemaster: dunno the type I think it was a warrior, yellow to 53, undead, PH for Gravemaster Zo'lun

Reanimated Champion: blue to 53, warrior type, undead, pretty tough

Reanimated Berserker: yellow to 53, warrior type, undead, pretty though

These mobs are found at/near the bridge:

Ancient Guardian: yellow to 53, procs tremor, warrior type

Di'zok Legionnaire: blue to 53, warrior type

Di'zok Captain: yellow to 53, warrior type, dropped Jagged Blade of Mourning

The Bridge Keeper: red to 53, warrior type, may enrage, drops Stained Cloth Mask (common), Jade Inlaid Hoop (rare)


Watch out for the respawn especially in the Graveyard area, it can really doom up your group when mobs begin to respawn while you're still fighting.

All in all, Chardok is lot of fun now ;) I made 1 yellow and 1 1/2 blue bubbs during 5 hours non stop fighting in the Bridge and Graveyard area, the drops are pretty nice too, so happy hunting ;)

yes but prolly not worth it. my friend, a necro tried once when she fded and we had to zone. the problem is high HP, hit hard, fast respawn

as an SK with harm touch up I can solo the zone in or out. come at a busy day where both zones are camped and someones at the fort. Pop up in the tunnel use best darkness, jump down. (if the fort groups not an ******* and doesn't have mobs running all aroud, cast a few dots on him walk around up and down the zone in/out while your pet adds that extra melee damage, reply dots/snares if at this point you still have plenty of mana go in and swing at him. Back off at about half life and lifeleech. At 54 I run out of mana when the mob is about 1/3 left or so. Run far away sit down just a minute to build up mana for one last snare. Snare him to add that last dot, run in harm touch and swing. I've killed about 9 mobs that way flawlissly. Gained a sbs, jagged blade of mourning, sarnak skullspliter, and some spell. For about 45 minutes of work soloing in a small space as an sk the exp/risk/reward factor worked fine in my opinion. Got exp and loot instead of yelling LFG a million times. This method only failed once when I pulled a sarnak with an SoS on it, everyone at the fort say and ks's be in a hurry

Not sure if it is new or not but we got a pair of gloves that were wiz/necro/mage/enchanter only. They were 2AC 5Cha 3Int and 10Mana...pretty good. We defaulted them to the chanter.

I went to Chardok today and MAN did they change it! There are so many new mobs out there that are not on the list its amazing, a few that i can remember are:
-D'zok(or something) Captain : Dropped 35 mana 35 hp Eff:snare earring : druid/ranger
-Named doggie(Forget name):Nothing
-Seargent : Nothing both times

We killed alot of named spawns and there was a Battlemaster something on track,i didnt pay that much attention so these details are sketchy at best,suffice to say though that the zone is MUCH tougher,most things conned blue even and yellow for me at 54,2 reds,the prince and a construct type thing.

found this shoes :

And found a very curious area, with a strange NPC and some weird things. (I'd call it the treasure room until I know more about it) It's guarded by some treasure guards, there is a rat NPC (green and indiff) that Feign Deaths, and 3 times we got this same "problem" : massive pop right on us (from 5 to 15 mobs each time), at 3 different points of the room area. Trap ? weird agro, train, warp ? What is the rat for ? (tried to hail when he was FD, no reaction, he stood up a short period of time but he went back FD before we could finish our kill, so couldn't try)

Any help on this will be appreciated :)

As of the Patch of 10/8/01, Chardok has been revised. The patch says it is a higher level zone (sigh).

What has anyone noted about Chardok that has been in it since 10/8/01?

Wasn't paying a whole lot of attention, but today my groupies looted an Earring of Twisted Leaves

Stats:

1 wis
35 mana
35 hp
Effect: Scale of Wolf
Druid/Shaman only

I won it, and i'm a chanter so i dont' know anything about the cast time

from what i hear there are earrings like this for all casting classes, if anyone has any info, please, do tell =)

Two groups in my guild went down into Chardok today. (I don't remember the exact stats on it all, but it's close) We found Earring of Everfount - 2 ac 30 hp 55 mana Effect: Everfount (Unlimited)MAG only, Sarnak Bergilge(Ring) - 5 wis 5 int 5 hp 20 mana 5 sv disease/poison Casters/Priests, and Di`Zok Escape Staff - 21/40 Effect: Evacuate (right click) Dru/Wiz only.

If you talk to the erudite Professor in the mill at Lake of Ill Omen, he tells you all about the history of Kunark and the medallion and how it was segmented into 3 pieces. A piece of a medallion drops in the dining room of the Sarnak Fort in LOIO. Good Luck :)

Actually you can gain faction with the sarnaks if you have done alot of killing in Droga/Nurga or goblins in FM. We have a cleric who is regarded as ally, we use him just for CR's and res.Need invis with certain mobs there though who arent on same faction.

The only ways that I've ever gotten bodies out of chardok were with a rogue using hide/sneak to drag, or a necro with plenty of coffins. As for not being KoS there, I suppose its possible but you would need to absolutely ruin your standing with Cabilis to even come close to getting enough faction in there. Even then, I'm not sure it would be possible.

Can any one tell me ruffly wehat the drop rate on things here are? me and a few friends are headed there this weekend to camp entrance for 2 days, just wondering what the drop rate on things might be, weather a sarnak battle sheild drops riffly every 4 -10 hours or something, or maby a symphonic blade or sompten! I would appreciat any help i could get, please thankz

I have to kill the Royal Herbalist in here fir my Epic Quest. Anyone know what level and how tough he is? and if he has the Manisi Herb everytime? and if its no drop(im sure it is)?

We fought the royal herbalist in Chardok tonight on the seventh hammer. He's an unusually small sarnak, he looks like a hatching compared to all the other sarnaks you will be fighting. He spawned in the royal room with the fake wall leading up to the king and was blue to me at level 54 and a complete cake walk to kill (there where 16 people beating him down but he didn't last as long as the other sarnaks). All in all the only difficult thing would probably be getting him to spawn (which probably isn't too difficult) and getting that deep into chardok (which isn't tough either) :)

We did the entrance to the castle with only one group of 5 people, 50-53 in level. No enchanter either. There is no point in going beyond entrance unless you are going to kill Royals. Every piece of loot here is pretty random. Aruspex are a good bet though, since they can drop one of 3 badass items. Make sure you nuke the hell out of the casters when they get low so they dont gate. They usually dont bring train back but if they do you are screwed. This is a great zone for the Vallon-Zek. All the light teams are in KC, and a lot of the darks spend time in chardok. Good xp here too.

Silver Swiftblade, 16 24 2h slash for rangers indeed seems to drop randomly from Sarnak. Ive seen it drop twice from 2 different Sarnaks not far from entrance.

Random drop from the Sarnaks the times I've seen it drop. Just hunt the entrance and pray.

Anyone know if this is anything special? Have killed several (A)ruspex's, but keep hearing the (H)aruspex casting, but never seen or killed.

If it works anything like the Chokidai manglers and Lacerators, then I would guess that the Haruspex is on average two levels higher than an Aruspex, with basically the same abilities scaled up a bit.
