Accused Traitor

This guy popped about every 20 minutes in Korocust room (NB Accused, not accursed traitor), not listed on any bestiary that I can see, must be a quest mob, anyone have any ideas yet 9since no-one responded to last post I assume not :-)

a few infos
# Jul 30 2002 at 6:32 PM Rating: Decent
1/ bring your own group as the zone is most of the time empty

2/ fairly safe for a full high 40 low fifty to pull mobs at exit

3/ enc here is not an option but required , never been with bard there but must be ok if charm song.

4/ casters, over casting in beginning of fight is not a good idea in general, but if you do it there, be ready for loading please wait as sarnaks make short work of casters, specially INT based.

5/ clerics must cast best symbol on MT of course and on enc too. If enc die and 2 mobs aggro, be ready to zone as the wipe out is close.

6/ right at exit, there is 1 golem who spawn, so watch out if he pop in middle of fight

7/ go there with peeps you know they have a clue about their class ; hunting at entrance is not difficult as long as you re not grouped with complete idiots.

Good luck there, and let the usual KC groups where they re, its better for you and them

Group of 2 60th Rangers, 1 60th Druid , 1 60th Cleric, 1 60th Shaman, 1 55th Warrior fought down to the Bank and held it for 2 hours before leaving.

NO ENCHANTER. NO BARD.

I think he meant that an Enchanter and Bard would be required for a high 40's low 50's group, not full 60 group...

Drops

ok dudes, time for me to clear the air. SbS, Jagged Blade of Mourning, SoS, and Argent Protector are all random drops off ANYTHING in zone... you will see them all in hand of the MoB.

Baton of Royal Stature is droped off the Observer, who is just past that bridge thing behind the castle thing (thing because diff servers call it diff things).

Bit of info for the first time visitor
# Jun 22 2002 at 1:08 PM Rating: Good
Just a bit of info for folks coming here for the first time, as I did last night. Our group was:

49 warrior (me)
50 warrior
52 warrior
48 chanter
49 cleric
51 druid

To give you an idea of the basic layout of the first part, imagine an upside-down U...that's the shape of the tunnel leading from zone in to zone out. Both zones are one-way. As long as you don't go in the castle gate, you can't possibly get lost or take the wrong turn...it's about a 20 second journey with sow from zone to zone. You zone in on the right end and come out the left end. In the middle of the U is the castle gate, which has a number of mobs guarding it. Nothing around here sees invis except the skeletons. There is a bridge behind the gate...don't fall off it, and don't push mobs off it. When you zone out, you will appear in the same room as the zone in...just follow the left wall closely for about 100 feet, and you can slip past the sarnaks in the middle of the room and get back to the Chardok entrance if you choose. There are four basic camps in this area, and names vary, but here we go:

Entrance: six spawns, most of them 42-45, easy kills.
Exit: I believe it's similar to Entrance, but I didn't do this camp, only saw a few battles others had.
Castle Entrance: This is the big gate. Multiple mobs close together. I saw a skeleton here, and I also saw Guard Captain Di'Zou, famous for dropping the Guard Captain's Mallet. You'll have to be more careful here if you don't want to pull a train.
Observer: If you go in past the gate and over the bridge, Observer Aq'touz spawns not far from there, on the left. I'm not sure what his PH is, because he was up when we went there. He is approx. level 55 and commonly doubles for 140ish, sometimes up to 220ish. We got an add with him, which we mezzed...we killed them both and still had 20m or more, so he's not the end of the world. Wouldn't have wanted 3, though. He dropped 167gp and nothing else.

Our story: we murdered the entrance mobs for a while, including the Herald, one of the most fun kills I've had in a while...you'll see why if you stomp him ^_^ \/ Don't feel guilty about killing him, even though he is a quest NPC, because few people have good Chardok faction, and he respawns fairly quickly. We then invised and moved in past the gate (it was camped) back to the Observer area. We pulled a number of mobs here and were never in danger...48 chanter had no trouble mezzing, and we never got more than 2 mobs in a pull, with 52 warrior pulling to the near end of the bridge. Then the group camping the gate left, and we went up there to take it over...and that's where it went bad. Somebody's invis dropped, and we suddenly had two or three mobs on us. They jumped on the chanter and cleric first, and we just had no chance to save them...all but me and 52 warrior died right there. I got an invis and dragged bodies back to entrance. Sadly, our casters hadn't thought to bind nearby, so it took longer than it should have...casters who can self-invis should consider binding in BW at the Chardok exit, because it's completely safe, and nobody will be bringing a train to the exit, since you can't get in that way. If you can't invis, binding inside the castle would be problematic, as if you leave you have to run past several sarnaks who will have SoW. Ick. Anyway, we did fairly well for our first time...bad thing was, we had to leave the Captain standing there, and we could see the Mallet in his hand! *cries* Anyway, I hope this helps some first-timers. If you can invis, Chardok is fairly safe to go to alone to find a group...if not, could be a bad idea. (BTW there are skeletons and apes in BW who see invis.) XP was great, and there were many fewer people in here than in KC, which means more stuff to kill. I'm definitely going back ^_^ \/

Please don't encourage people to kill Herald Telcha, its pointless and accomplishes nothing other than irritating people who run all the way out to Chardok for turn ins.

Don't mean to sound like a newbie, but I heard both the Staff of Shielding and the Baton of Royal Stature BOTH drop here. Heard SoS is random from anyone, and BoRS is EXTREMELY rare drop in koro area. Was the person just making it up or is this true? Just curious, would be a nice pair to have.. Figured I might have a try on it someday.

who drops the Sarnak Battle Shield and could a 51necro and 52mage get is without effort?
RE: The Battle Shield
# May 28 2002 at 4:26 AM Rating: Default
I think it's random from just about any mob in there, and I doubt a 51 and 52 can get it themselves. Chardok is dangerous, and unless you can single out a fairly low sarnak carrying it you are smoked. Theoretically you might be able to get it if you hunt near the zone-in, the mob spawning nearest zone-in happens to carry it and you can avoid adds. I would recomend a full group including an enchanter and a shaman for hunting in chardok, of course you will need the standard tank+cleric also. 51 and 52 are not really "high" level characters in Chardok, I would say recomeded minimum level for hunting there in group is 50...

Was wondering if anyone could give me directions to the bank area. Have been one time but basically followed the group there. Now I wanna go back on a consistant basis but dont remember how we got there first time. It's a chardok version of Sebs 4d camp cept with more roamers.

Well, we took the short way last night (make sure you bring evac to get back out):

1) clear the castle, move through the doors
2) work down the tunnel, through the first building, then past the observer camp
3) kill the bridge keeper (think of this as a test to see if you can handle the bank)
4) just before the bridge where the bridge keeper is, invis up, and jump down to the right (you'll see the entrance to the bank down there)
5) first fight will be 1-5 spawns, depending on how careful you are

Hopefully that makes sense and is correct (I'm still trying to learn the zone layout).

Would we be owned?
# Apr 28 2002 at 11:54 AM Rating: Default
I was wondering if my friend and I would be able to survive in this zone. I'm a 53 cleric and my friend are 52 ogre warrior ( with defiance and frostbringer) and a 53 bard. Is there any chance we get some good loot too ?

RE: Would we be owned?
# May 21 2002 at 5:55 PM Rating: Default
you could maybe take the zone in... some random loot drops there. At level 48, my dwarf warrior duoed with a 59 shaman, and sometimes trioed with a 54 bard in teh mix. Without the shamans 75percent slows, we would have been toast. The farthest in we got was to the fort thing there were the skeletons are. In 3 or 4 trips of about 5 hours i remember looting

Chokadi Hide Spaulders (the shaman shoulders)
the funny named ring
tribal war boots
some of those gems, and LOTS of FS long swords off the dinosaur dogs.
