At night, Dragoons can be seen patrolling the paths. Sarnaks, plantlife, and wildlife roam all throughout The Overthere while the scorpikis can be found in and around the massive chasm leading to Charasis.

From what I have heard this zone sounds a good place for Rangers like me. Our Snare and Terrorize Animal spell can let us easily slaughter animals, but what about these Dragoons and Undead junk? I want to know if the Dragoons and other Evil things can see through hide or sneak. If they cannot, this would be perfect zone for rangers, just be sure to always practice hide and sneak so you're ready for that Dragoon that you didn't realize was walking towards you ;(

fear kite works well here. Have to be weary of the goons they are not near the ledge at all times so keep checking track. no goon on track, pull and fear kite. you may want to group till lvl 30 atleast though.

The goons are a serious problem. I would not recommend fear kiting because of them. I'm a ranger, in OT for the past few levels. I've trained goons to the zone a few times. Not fun. If you're at half health from fighting, it only takes a few 130 hp swings for them to get you down to where you can't run fast. Get a group, and try to find a darkie to do the pulling. It's not that you're wandering around, and see a dragoon. You'll be fighting something, the dragoon will kill it, then turn on you. You'll have no trouble finding a group, though, because no one will hunt here without SOW up at all times.

WHo said it was a bug? i doubt it is. BTW ive seen evil races be bound on bridge in FV then jump in ocean. Evil races can be bound in good towns by the same "bugs" you mention.

Wow, it sounds like Mr Ogre should take a cold shower or go for a walk before he stabs his meat hooks into the post message button. Are you saying that evils can't bind anywhere other than their home city, other evils cities and here? Hmmm, don't think so. I know I have bound ton's of ogres outside of freeport many time just far enough away from the guards. Hypocrisy! Have you ever heard of that word. BTW, (and this isn't humble either) get a life.

If you read what was said, evil races can be bound in other than purely "evil" locations just like the good races can. YOU need to read the posts before putting YOUR meathooks on the post button...lol.

---Somehow, you believe you are more entitled to play than others are. I was playing this game in beta and at release. It was far harder way back then than it is now, even for a new player. In my day, if I had full leather at level 10 I was doing well. Today, non-twinks have full Banded by then, or better. Add to that the fact that hunting grounds are wide open for you and you're set. In the beginning, the best any caster could hope for was a FBR. Now, you can't even *give* them away. Twinks or no, everyone plays the same. If someone is playing a twink, then they have already fought the hard road with one character. Wait until you make level 40+ and try another character. We'll see how long you go before twinking.
#Anonymous, Posted: Aug 08 2001 at 12:41 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Wow... get over it. Sounds as if someone is ready for that special rental rate at the Padded Walls Hotel. Not everyone is twinked or having special considerations. I am a Lvl 22 human Necro and I have soloied 99% of the time and the 1 % I grouped got me nowhere. I get tired of hearing whiners like you complain. No one told you to choose the character you did... no one twisted your arm. Either choose a new character or go play centipede on an Atari.

The low level animals like rhinos, tigers and cockatrice (the 20-ish and below) are non-agro. The 30ish and above mobs of similar type are all agro. The rhinos' levels cannot be distinguished by their names, unlike all of the other animals. The sabertooth (note the 'er') tigers are non-agro, but the sabretooth (note the 're') tigers are agro for instance.

My cousin, now a level 33 DE wizzy, recommended that I head to OT as soon as I reached my 14th season. After hunting in Lavastorm, my DE necro headed to OT. At first it was a little frustrating, as everything conned yellow or red to me. But after a little help and some time grouping the mudpit, experience and crazy cash has led me to LOVE OT. I have gone from 14-18 in less than two weeks. If you are a DE necro come to OT. Its a bit dangerous but hey thats what EQ is all about. Good luck to all. Blood Flesh and Honor.

Has anyone ever seen/heard of/looted this item in this zone? It is supposed to be a 6/21 piercer with 10AC. Everlore has it; Allakhazam does not. Rumor has it that it is (or was) dropped in The Overthere.

Any information is appreciated. And if anyone's selling one on Erollsi Marr, please send a tell to Arynduil.

warrior guild?

I am an ogre tank, 25 th level. I came to the OT to from the LOIO in order to try and train my skill of riposte. I came on the information of another ogre tank leading me to believe there was a warrior guild here. I can't find it!
If there is a warrior guild at the evil outpost in OT i feel like a fool for having looked for it for soooo long and not found it!If on the other hand there is not a warrior guild in this area i have one question. WHY NOT???
An evil outpost is going to be frequented; i would guess, by many evil characters. Two races i know to be of evil in nature are the trolls and all my ogre brudders. Do these races not have a huge per capita of warriors? And why,if this is true, is there many other guilds in this area except warrior?
Maybe i just missed it. Everyone i talked to said they thought it was there...or at least assumed it would be. Are we crazy?

This is a message board for strategy, people; it's not a board for you to post your poor attempts at "role-playing" when it's an out-of-game utility. Someone has to get this message into your heads to stop spamming the boards.

This is for Iskars and people who can actually make it to Cabilis without getting killed. If you like hunting in OT, but you also want to make a lot of money, then this is for you. First, loot everything you possibly can. If you have wieght issues, stick to Succulent Saps, and Saberteeth. Do not, I repeat DO NOT sell stuff to the Klok by the mudpit. He will only give you a few gold for a sabertooth. If you take it back to Cab, you will get around 4pp. Saps are the same way. If you must sell to drop some weight, get rid of your cat skins. They are heavy. Other than that, most everything is lightweight and more valuable in Cabilis. Enjoy.

I personally think that Lake of Ill Omen is EXCELLENT experience and easy to find grp's from lvl 16-30. After lvl 30 come to OT and kill Sarnak Knights, Tigers, Succulents, ect. You can lvl here till about 38 then try go to Dreadlands.
RE: hunting opinions
# Jul 07 2001 at 10:41 PM Rating: Decent
OT is great for that lvl. You have a bank and vendors here. For hunting it is great also. GO straight out from the Outpost, till you hit the zone wall and hunt around the watering hole. There is a lizzy there who will sell to you also. Only mobs in that area that will argo on you are the sarnarks, otherwise you don't have to worry about being attacked.

If you are worried about binding at the OT, you can also be bound in the Frontier Mts. (1 zone away) at the ruins directly south of the Mt. Giant Fort entrance. (It is about half way between the Fort and the wall to the west of the Dreadlands zone)

Good Guys Can Bind in The Overthere
# Jun 13 2001 at 2:51 PM Rating: Default
I just wanted to pass along to peeps with good characters that you can bind in The Overthere. Hunting at levels 16 to 20 is awesome on the mid-level side of the zone. The best place to hunt is at the "mudhole". Nothing aggros on you there except sarnaks and with a little heads-up play, that isn't a problem either.

Now for binding. From Oasis, take the barge to ogre island. Get off, run across to dock by ogre village and get on boat to The Overthere. Once the boat zones, jump off and swim in a south to southeast direction. Swim with your head up so you can see the outpost wall. You want to land on the beach with the wall on your right. Now, get back into the water and swim around the wall to the beach on the other side. Make sure you stay very close to the wall while you're swimming. When you get on the land, bind in the corner (as close to the wall and water as possible).

When you're ready to go, come back to this place and wait for the big boat to dock. When it comes in, swim to the right, rear corner of the boat. You will see a barrel angled toward the water. Climb up onto the boat using that barrel and sit on the right side of the boat. Home free!!
RE: corpse retrieveal
# May 27 2001 at 4:10 AM Rating: Default
You could also consent someone of evil persuasion to drag your corpse to you on the otherside of the wall, course if they are truely evil, why would they bother helping =) .. Course theres always that agnostic Monk that should help(or character of like situation that is not evil, yet not KOS either)....
Or you could really go insane and get a Necro to summon your corpse to you else-where in the zone =)
Seriously though, I am sure you could get someone to drag your corpse outside of the outpost for you in the event your corpse was at an unreachble spot, course if it's a guild mate or friend; could have them continue to drag yer old corpse down to the Ledge area and have one of the Many Clerics there rezz ya back as well.

I am an Iksar Necro. When I was lvl 11 a human magician friend of mine, then lvl 20, came to Kunark to escort me to East Commons. When I got to the outpost, I was not KOS to the cliff golem guards but I was to the undead marines, the "live" guards near the docks and, on one occassion, a merchant near the bank (got killed like 4 times there). I am now lvl 26, am I still KOS there? Does this change with lvl, or once KOS, always KOS?

You will never be able to walk among the undead at OT outpost as an Iksar. Or many of the NPC live ones for that matter. Stay away.
