This massive ocean, comparative in size to the Ocean of Tears, separates Kunark from Faydwer and Antonica. It is here in Timorous Deep, where if you look hard enough, you may find paradise. Be mindful of the volatile raptor islands and the occasional appearance by the sea dragon, Faydedar.

The FRSS did drop here at one point in time, when there were undead Pirate camps here. The mob that I looted one of them from was a named large skeleton, First Mate Morgan. He and two other skeletons(undead sailors or some such name)would all pop at one spot.
Alas, the undead pirates no longer seem to appear there, this seems to be one of Verants experiment at temporary monster spawns. Should the pirate camps reappear sometime rest assured they will be camped with lineups of 3-4 people at at a time waiting.
The good thing is that the FRSS is LORE and once a person got one they would yield the camp. Also the pop time on Morgan or a undead sailor placeholder was only about 8 minutes with the FRSS a common drop on him(not always but every 3 or so) so the average camp time per person was only 15-25 minutes to get one.

Lastly let me say that compared to FBSS or silver chitin handwraps that FRSS is not the best haste item in the world but for a monk in his lower levels who cannot obtain better it is better than no haste at all. Best estimates seem to place it at 14% haste, some have claimed more, others less, but its still haste.

Umm...so I am a level 30 Iksar monk. Just got off the mountain visiting Master Rinmark for my shackle of rock, and yell out "Anyone near the chessboard that can sow and lev me." I was going to try the firepot teleports for the first time.

Now I kept my distance from the chessboard so I could see if anything was around. Well, I look over and FAR, FAR away I barely see a high elf running parallel to me. I was trying to con him, but couldn't. I could barely see him myself...although found out that he had no problem seeing me. Next thing I knew I was struck by a spell. So I tried FD...nope. Another spell hits...so I figure well, maybe he was in the middle of casting so I go for another FD...NOPE. Third spell hits, and I am LOADING...PLEASE WAIT.

So for anyone that even thinks they are KOS to this guy...if he sees ya, and he is red to ya...

"Kiss the proverbial Gluteus Maximus...GOODBYE"

...on the lighter side. The teleports work like a charm and I am glad I didn't have to worry going back past the OT docks. Put me right back in W. Cabilis next to the zone line to LoIO.

New Spirocs
# Mar 19 2002 at 12:26 PM Rating: Decent
There is a new Spiroc that pops in TD under the birdcage near the corner that the mountians join in. He seems to be a Proven most of the time (Backstabbers) and he pops next to the tree I like to camp at. This new guy "Crazy Bird" as we now call him is a runner. He is a big danger to kiters and make this once easy camp just a little harder.
Another guy who was red at 46 showed on track as a named spiroc. I may have information on him later.
Anyone got a rez here please?

Anyone meet the new pirates that got at the ship graveyard here? Apparently they replaced the bandits there, or something. They are called gunthaks and are all dark blue to a 59th level. Well I hope that helps someone. Now the mages and necros can leave the raptors alone and let us rangers fear/kite them 8)

So far I've seen Gunthak Swabby, Pirate and Marauders. Swabbies are the weakest ones and look like humans, pirates are a little higher and look like barbarians and finally Marauders are the really nasty ones that look like ogres, summon and hit for over 200.

I've quad kited swabbies and pirates a few times (starting as 57 wiz). They're definately good xp but rather dangerous as a few resists meant I'd have to camp or med. I always had to use harvest and resnare with a 3k mana pool... They drop some loot, earrings with pr and +1% apply poison, weapons with low damage and poison dmg (dunno what that does). Good amounts of pp, seems like they have FS weapon 9 times out of 10. They also drop alcohol everytime, woot!

I don't know if the marauders drop anything better than the other ones... After getting my first nuke in I was summoned and killed in the blink of an eye...

Oh yah, a friend said they are lvl 48-49, said he fought 'em grouped on Legends server, I can't verify though.

Hope that helps.

Ok, I was wondering what the heck these things were. Yesterday, I was on the boat to OT when I hear the message "you dare defy the Ganthuk Pirates" or something to that extent, then get hit for 133 and backstabbed for 407. Now as a lvl 53 Necro with no buffs on that took me to about half my hps. What was odd is, he then stopped and when I conned him he was indifferent??

I had never seen them before, but now I know. These suckers are just mean when you are caught unawares.

Concerning the new pirates there, they're dark blue (obviously) to my 59 Druid as well, figured i'd give them a try after invising and scouting them for a bit. they don't see invis, hit fairly hard (130s or so) and there are 2 types though I'm not sure of the level range just yet. There's A Gunthak Pirate and A Gunthak Swabby, I presume the Pirate is higher lvl. there were 8 total, 3 Pirates and 5 Swabbys when I was there, 6 total on the boats and 2 of 'em swimming in the water between boats; can't really see the swimmers unless you take a swim to scout. Only stayed on to kill one, I was tired; the Pirate that i killed had 9-10k hps, I had to Drifting Death/ES vambrace him 6 times to kill him, ton of hps but I got decent visible exp in 59 so not too bad.

Oh, and BTW Gwaeron it's not the Necros and Mages you have to fend off at the raptors, it's Druids and Wizards, the raptors are quad-kiting bliss though there's no loot. I don't want to burst your bubble, but you would get totally owned trying to fear kite them, due to adds. They are very social and have a staggering aggro radius...You WOULD get adds and you WOULD train/die, it'd just be a matter of time. Just a friendly word of advice to one that's hunted raptors there for 4 levels and seen all kinds of folks come and go. I keep my Cleric there to res those foolish enough to try the raptors without doing their homework LOL. (unless they train me - no Res for you then!) Anyway there's my 2 cents, be safe all.

For those of you who went to Arkik Farsight and found out you don't have the faction with The Keepers of the Art which is needed to recieve your crushed pot, The fastest faction gains I got were from going to West Commons and killing Kizdean Gix the faction gain was so much faster then doing the bat wing quest. I went from being Scum to indifferent from killin Kizdean around 10 times.
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 25 2001 at 1:16 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) ROFL Since you can buy the bat wings in Freeport, and get a port to Faydwer for real cheap, you can just do the quest real easy to get max faction in maybe a half an hour, including travel time (with port).

Alrik is a sub quest for the druid epic

He's on artkeepers faction or something like that. It's a high elf faction... just have to do the batwing quest in felwithe to raise your faction.

I came to TD today to help a friend who had fallen off the "good" boat, once i found him with loc my druid friend tried to port us out. WC was down and i was sent to a safe point. turns out it was not very safe, Alrik argoed on me and for some reason all his spells were resisted in full(he conned blue to me at 51). I then rooted/dark/feared him then summoned my pet up to my side. after 10min i managed to kill him(note: don't let him gate and heal himself) and all he dropped was a ***** robe 6ac +1mana. Does anyone know what Alrik is all about?
He melees for 137 and can cast, he also has way more hp's than u would think(not counting healing himself)

I was swimming around one day when i thought i saw a dragon. i thought my monitor was screwed up, so i swam closer, it was a DRAGON. there is a dragopn that swims around, this is the only time i have ever seen him, but he swims around, so watch yourself.
RE: Dragon
# Mar 05 2002 at 7:59 PM Rating: Default
yeah, its a dragon. Faydedar. hes drops what you could call the last piece of the druid epic. not necessarily the last, as there are many subsections of the quest that are independant of each other, but this is the part you want to procrastinate on. he is a very small duplicate of naggy, nuff said. if you saw him wandering around then the raid was botched, because he is a triggered spawn.

Well, first of all, I'd like to say that by the 12th of August fo 2001 I'll b a married man ty, ty... now.. I was doing some Monky business on Ogre Island... needed to get oowomp and his pet and all that for a Shackle quest.. was hoping to get the boat to OT, but when I got a map, I saw the part about the FirePots and I though "Hey! I have 150 swimming and not doing anything worth my time atm, so I might as well scope this thing out" well, that was me at lvl 20... but then I thought "hmm... the boat is much faster than me..." so I waited a few minutes... after that, I just got impatient, grabbed my map and jumped in the water... did my special Iksar swimming thing and started passing he relay points on the way to the firepots... the shipwrecks... the checker island which i ran through.. then finally the last islands... I hadn't read the names yet, but when I saw raptor islands as name I thought it must be because of shape...so I just decided to swim between them (a space of about 10 feet that is) as I was approaching the island, there was a raptor on the coast and I thought "Holy peepers!" the thing conned red and ready to attack... not a good combination for a lvl 20 Monk with 2 hands... but I decided to just swim past it... in the closest point, I was about 2-3 feet away from the raptor... it didn't move an inch... so's I figure it won't aggro when u swim past it... I think the one the raptor was in could pass for Isla Sorna :P

Helo i'm a 18 iskar shammy, I was wonderin if killin these ogres would make it harder in overthere. I'm pretty sure my overthere faction is kos anyway( i havent been there yet.) How badly do i need that faction?
RE: AS an Iskar
# Jul 14 2001 at 11:13 AM Rating: Default
I know that is a long way off, but if you mess up your faction now it would make it harder to do this quest below. You may want to go to the elven outpost and kill them instead they are the simular levels.
An Elven Ranger 16 - 18
An Elven Scout 15 - 17
An Elven War Scout 17 - 21

There is a quest that you can do called a "The New Worker"

for a "Worker Sledgemallet"

it randomly procs a gate to The Overthere fort's ship yards once you are at lvl 50. other than that the mallet is a piece of junk.

So when you are far way from home and want to go back to kunark, equip this mallet and duel a friend or a low lvl mob till it procs. There is only one charge of the gate but its a cheep quest to do again once you get there.

the best way to build facton for the fort in Overthere is to kill sarnaks in the zone (or tag one that has aggroed on someone with a low level dd spell, just for the faction) If you see a Sarnak War Braid just sitting there loot it (with permission of corse) and when your faction is good enough (I dont know if wolf form will work) trade them in 4 at a time for great exp and better faction. once you are better that indiffrent you can do the mallet quest.

Boy is my throat dry from all this talking, I need a couple 'Innoruuk's kiss of death' to wet my whistle.

Unfortunately, Iksar are KOS in the OT outpost. Killing sarnaks doesn't give outpost faction (VenrilSathir), only Cabilis Warr faction (LegionofCabilis). The only way an Iksar could do this quest would be to hunt on Veeshans Peak, there are 2 dragons up there that give VenrilSathir faction. Basically, there is no way you can do this quest as an Iksar so go hunt those Ogres if you want.
