The Orcs of Crushbone are the bane of the Elves of Faydark. Inside this orcish stronghold are numerous camps, an underground slave mine, and a castle which houses the leaders of Crushbone Clan.

Note: For the higher level revamp version of this zone (available only in special events - usually branded as "Hardcore Heritage", running several weeks in the spring and/or summer), click here.

Since the updated tradeskill recipes went live, all the orcs in Crushbone drop a TON of the lower level ore, silks and animal pelts. I got enough of each from a couple clears of the zone to literally go over 100 smithing and tailoring easily

Unless you want to be an evil race atoning for their racial sins, and try to get good faction with the good races. My Iksar Monk was fun doing that.

If you would like to solo the Throneroom in Crushbone or OWN Dvinn and his Royal guards as a level 5 character (you can go up one whole level in 10 min. of fighting), here is what to do:

Bind at entrance to CB.

Go to POK and get buffed with:

Temperance +800 Hp, +48AC (44 Cleric - offer 12pp to cover the peridot)
Harnessing of Spirit +249 Hp, +66 Str, + 50 Dex(49 Shaman)
Call of Earth +24 AC, +4 damage shield (50 Ranger)
Spirit of Wolf to run faster (9 Shaman, 14 Druid, 30 Ranger, 30 Beast Lord)
Chloroplast +10 Hp regen (44 Druid or 39 Shaman)
Shield of Thorns +24 damage shield (49 Druid)

Then Gate, or if you are unable to Gate, get a Translocate (to bind point) from a level 50 or higher Wizard.

With these buffs you can solo the Throne room at level 5 (do not attack the level 65 Messenger). The hard part is doing at least 1 Hp of damage on each mob so you get experince from the kill when they beat themselves to death on your Thorns.

If you coordinate it right, after you take out the Throne room you can (after you med to full HP) take out the Tower (including Dvinn) as well. Just watch the timer on your Chloroplast and Thorns.

It will take a few friends or generous players to provide these buffs and I do not recommend this as a leveling strategy. (Also - don't beg or plead for buffs if there is noone to help you.) Thorns and Chlor. will only last about 12 min. so you have to time the gate or Translocate just right (have Wiz lined up to Translocate you before you get Chlor and Thorns).

Also, since you will only have about 10 min. of real fighting time as "superman" you should coordinate with a friend in Crushbone to do a camp check in OOC so you have the green light to Gate there and run straight into the Throne room without crashing someone's camp.

I have done this several times with different classes and although it takes patience to find the buffs, it was fun playing "superman."

Thank any that help you with e-mote thankyous to show your appreciation. :)

One other thing, it is important to have more than one mob on you while you are fighting in the above scenario. The regen from Chloroplast along with your high hit points (from Temp. ...) make this doable. If you try to take on Dvinn with no other mobs, he will simply walk away (rather quickly) when he gets low on Hp. Unless you root him you will loose the kill. If there is another mob on you however, Dvinn will die on your thorns and not run away!

Orc Messenger
# Sep 28 2004 at 10:25 PM Rating: Decent
Playing new BST today and all of a sudden 3 members down in group. When I looked behind me I caugt a glimpse of a giant orc. Smaller than hill giant but bigger than lego. Hit for 940 and 1100. We were bound by entrance and when we returned about 5-6 mins later he was gone. He spawned right behind the table in TR following the killing of the emperor (PH??). This thing has to be epic 2.0 and Im guessing pally but who knows. Dont know why they put his spawn there.... dont make sense. For the same reason they removed Fabled Ambassador. Took less than 5 seconds for entire wipe of group. If he has a ph in throne room .... hehe, thats not going to be my favorite new alts grind any more. =D

Yeah I ran into the Orc Messenger with my chanter in Crushbone too. All the casters were sitting on the throne room table while the melee people did their thing in the room. He spawned behind the table and leered at us so I tried to mez him and got smacked down for about 856 damage. He never touched anyone else in the group though and despawned after a few minutes.
RE: Orc Messenger

He does not aggro unless you attack him, and despawns in a matter of minutes.

There's a new orc -- Orc Messenger

This guy is with the new expansion, Omens of War. He conned red to a level 59, so I am assuming he is 65. Cons indifferent to everybody it seems.

He spawns in the crushbone throneroom right behind the table, where the Orc Oracle usually spawns. Here is another pic of it from far away

Happy hunting!

Factions
# May 23 2004 at 11:47 AM Rating: Decent
I need to know exactly how many orcs it takes to fix the factions for me. Im a 30 dark elf necromancer. Im sick of not being able to go in the towns and look for things although i think there wont be mucjh necro stuff there anyway. Thank you.
RE: Factions
# Jun 28 2004 at 8:05 PM Rating: Decent
I don't think anyone knows how many it would take... i'd guess thousands... as far as necro stuff goes... you won't find any in kelethin or felwhite, anything you need will be in your home town or in PoK... and if u absoloutely need something make a wood elf noob and explore.
RE: Factions
# Oct 20 2004 at 1:54 AM Rating: Decent
I actually estimated this once (too much time on my hands). As near as I can tell, to overcome dark elf bad faction takes about 100 orc centurions from KoS to Dubious. My overall calculation is about 500 faction hits between KoS and warmly (maybe low ally). Since you're a necromancer you have 2 major faction hits to overcome. I would guess a minimum of 200-300 orcs to get you to non-kos, but con the guards from a distance first ;). However this only helps Kelethin, and the guards of Felwithe. The Kelethin guilds other than the rangers and warriors won't like you, and anyone but the guards in Felwithe will be out for your blood. But once you start to get the Emerald warrior faction up you can do a few quests to make yourself more popular. Keep in mind though, the main way of making Kelethin happy with you is to become KoS in Neriak...

Hey, this is an awesome place for lowbies.... BTW, be REALLY careful her now..... the new fabled thingus hit DVinn, and he quads as much as 400 damage- TR just got a little meaner :( My 30 rgr and friends 40 druid managed to kill him- BTW, he is un root/snare/slow able, and has HEAVY resistances- also moves at SoW speeds.
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 12 2003 at 7:05 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I recommend not really posting here (I know Im calling the kettle black) and just level up past this frequently used zone and move on. Nothings here is good ;except experiance. All quests blow and ribcages and other assorted quest items are easy to get if you get buffed just kill everything until ya get what ya want. Dude was right they drop from legos more than others. Every char I played if you come in this place at around 7 you can smash n kill almost all but the throanies with Temperance. I know some people dont like to get uber at all and quest sheetie items, but if you do like to quest then why waste ya time here? Borrow a wep and by the time ya sneeze you should be able to go to Puladul Caverns. Oh yeh keys are for spacific caught goodies. Rewards blow. That Lil man chainmail is kinda rare, I killed the orc upstairs lots and he dropped it once. Spend 30pp and get a better one! Save and sell, do not quest here please. Better quest are elswhere. Battle plans or invasion plans almost always go to nearby towns goons, didnt look to much for info on that quest. Boring zone! =P

Great Zone for Low Levels!
# Jul 21 2003 at 11:53 PM Rating: Decent
This zone is absolutely wonderful for low level characters! Level really fast, and the loot isn't too bad, great xp if you get into a group that is going into TR. Otherwise the legionnaires outside aren't too bad of xp at all if you can pull one at a time and usually good if you can get into a pull groups of them at a time. I usually start here at level 10, maybe a little lower if I can find a good group. If I can't find a lower level group then I just hunt outside in the area directly outside of Crushbone (in Gfay on the Orc Hill thing). Go here when you are between levels 10 and 16 (maybe 17) and you will get great XP.

ALL of the goblin types except whelps in Butcher Block could potentially drop bricks. Crushbone Orcs in Gfay and CB, except pawns and Grikbar Kobolds in Steamfont, except the runts also drop the bronze.

The grikbar kobolds in steamfont drop tons of em. The are from 4 to 7 or so in levels I'd wager. The bricks are heavy though and naturally don't stack.
