Long ago, Khati Sha was a famed Vah Shir who enjoyed exploring. This love of exploration, however, was his downfall, as he was captured by the Shissar on one of his trips. Under the orders of Emperor Ssraeshza, he was brought in to the Shissar's temple to be interrogated, tortured, and experimented upon.

One of these experiments went very wrong, and in the accident both Khati Sha and his tormentors perished. All surviving records of the incident were sealed by Imperial order, and it is written that any further investigation into the incident would be considered treasonous.

The spirit of Khati Sha now resides in the Acrylia Caverns, located on the edge of the Grimling Forest just south of the Tenebrous Mountains. The Grimlings which control the area fear the retribution that would be unleashed if Khati Sha were to be made aware of the horrors committed upon him in the Shissars' temple. Therefore, much of Grimling legend consists of untruths -- lies to cover up a treacherous history of a once-great, famed Vah Shir.

A mutated chrysalis

This untargetable mob i found today (26th jun 2009) at the spawnspot of the evolved burrower ... might spawn after the burrower is killed.
AC Exp
# Aug 13 2008 at 8:58 AM Rating: Decent
The exp here is simply PHENOMENAL. I came here last night just to get the aug, and ended up staying and grinding out about 15 AAs. I was in the inner cavern killing mobs around the Spiritist and Warlord spawns, and getting between 9% and 14% AA per kill. This zone is not currently a hotzone, I imagine if it was I'd be getting an AA every 5 or 6 kills! Fairly easy mobs as a solo 60 shadowknight. Highly recommend this zone!
Soulsoother
# Oct 29 2007 at 1:18 PM Rating: Default
As a Mage,I have to buy some weapons with stun proc to equip my pet if I want to solo effectively here. All these mobs around zone-in are easy ... except this annoying one << Female Grimling Soulsoother >>.They keep trying to heal themselves when at 50% WITHOUT any casting message but only waving their hand.Without any stun/bash,they will healing for 10% of their HP alot. You almost have to spend double mana /time to kill them if compared with others. So,if you are a pet class soloing here,I will recommend you to buy some Ykesha proc weapon for pet.Really great help here..

Sacrificial Cauldron
# Oct 08 2006 at 6:20 PM Rating: Decent
I decided to go farm some items/cash in AC today. I'm currently 73, and a sacrificial cauldron conned red to me. Tried attacking it, nothing happened. I was able to hand items to it, no idea what to give it. Anyways, just wanted to let you know the level range on it is higher than 75.

a sacrificial cauldron - red to lvl 70

# Aug 15 2007 at 10:51 AM Rating: Decent
This isn't technically a mob, but simply a targetable kettle that is used during the Khati Sha the Twisted raid event. Mobs have to be stopped from reaching the cauldron or they are sacrificed and bad things can happen.

Even the Caverns are full of them, this mob isnt listed. Please add to list "an enslaved Shik'Nar".
Those insekts seem to have approx. lvl 46 as they around with the bloodguards, soulsoothers and deathspeakers.
There is a version which is able to cast, and a warrior type .. the problem is .. I couldnt find out how to differ the two just on sight. Well you will see if you get some spell around your head.
I have to admit a post down here, that you shouldnt count on loot from them, but ... there isnt an absolut zero with them.
We found at least once "Words of Grappling" on one.

Been farming here recently and also noticed the cauldron. No idea what its for. Didnt notice the wall but will check next time.

Found it one floor up from arch sage, got spiritilist marked on map in that room. Seems as some kind of big pot, 2 grimlings around it, but i also noticed a part of the wall next to it is a bit darker then rest of wall. Could it be opening a fake wall or something?

The Sacrificial Cauldron is part of the Ward of Death portion of the Khati Sha event. When the Ward of Death is active, grimling sacrifices will try to jump into the cauldron. If they make it in, they heal the Ward of Death substantially. You can stop them by fighting, but if you don't kill them fast enough you get an emote close to "the grimling sacrifice gets annoyed at your interferance", at which time he ignores you and heads for the cauldron anyways. The cauldron itself never attacks, nor can it be attacked.

Mob: reanimated prisoner.
Spawned during Warder event. Guessing level 55-60. Undead, and had its own script when aggro'ing the group. We were watching the Warder of Death when it aggro'd us from behind. Assuming it aggro'd from the jail cells and came up to us.

a little introduction to AC for the ore camper
# Jul 18 2004 at 12:36 PM Rating: Good
Generally speaking this is a tough zone if you solo and are below 60. The mobs in the rooms around the zone line are 44 - 47ish plus the odd named being a bit higher ( primalist, ritualist, bloodmage, bloodpriest ) .
At level 65 you can single pull any grimling or shiknar from pulks, at lower levels I suggest using lull type spells and being careful.

Nearby standing mobs will NOT cast healing on their friends in range - at least not when fighting my 65 Paladin. That includes fighting several mobs. They wont heal each other even if several are engaged.

Ore can drop off any grimling in outer and off the skeleton minions.

Soulsoothers are full type clerics, they cheal if at 50% most of the time( and not only once if you let them ). Else they use healing spells and cleric nuke spells.

Deathspeakers use poison spells and will try to slow you with Torgor's . Unless you have high poison and magic resists these will be a tough fight. At 210 magic resist and 201 poison the only spell that lands on me from time to time is boil blood.

Bloodguards are my favorites - they don't fuss around. They arent warriors though or not pure warriors. They will dispel your buffs quite frequently and try some other stuff, if you let them.
At 65 self-buffed with Guidance I lost numerous peridots due to BGs dispelling it.

Skeleton minions cast alot of asystole and other SK/NEC spells - so be warned. Else they dont hit hard and are no opponent for a paladin with anti-undead weapon and/or Slay Undead AA . Only two (or just one if you are high enough ) of them will aggro at any time when pulling them, as they are placed strategically around the stairs.

I cannot advise to hunt shik'nar - they dont drop anything special ( NO ore anyway, at least not the odd 20 I killed before giving up on them ), hit fast and have alot of HP. As only one or two of them stand in places where they could agro passersby hutning them makes little to no sense.

Unless you pass the bloodpriest and go into Inner acrylia cavern those mobs are pretty much the only thing you will see.

For the lucid shard I can say that it drops pretty regularly in Inner and so far didnt drop for me once in the outer areas ( around zone in, bloodpriest room, main hall or anything ). That doesnt mean it wont - just that I didnt see one drop in hundreds of kills and weeks of camping ore and/or XPing.

Female soulsoothers = full cleric CHing.
Male Soulsoother = Shamans (healing themselves but not CHing)
Deathspeakers = necromancers (no torgor that is sham spell)
Bloodguards = melee type (they never cast anything not even dispell)

Some of the mobs listed only existed back when AC wasn't revamped (if anyone remembers that, war painted skullcrackers were like 100% MR and stuff, insane bullcrap and Inner acrylia key didn't work):

A grimling Cadaverist
A grimling Dreamspinner
A grimling Manaseeker
A grimling Manacrafter
A smudged grimling
A war painted Skullcracker
A wormbait minnow

I've never seen any of these since revamp for a long LONG time. If anyone has seen these please say so, otherwise I think the listed mobs should be removed or ignored since they never appeared on my track.

I was wondering if I could solo here with my beast lord at lvl 60? I would be ok with sticking towards the front of the Caverns but would it be a decent place to farm for some plat?
RE: Worth it?
# Jul 22 2004 at 4:40 PM Rating: Decent
I almost hate to respond to this because the zone already gets crowded. But, you can solo here EASY as a beastlord from 58 on. Possible before 58, but very easy with 58 pet.
RE: Worth it?
# Jul 18 2004 at 12:45 PM Rating: Excellent
Very good place to farm plat. You can sell the ore on the bazaar, you can sell the runes dropping there and the weapons go for 142pp.
FYI a stack of "Wer"-Runes sells for ca. 205pp

Plus some nice bonus items like the Acrylia BP ( sells for several thousand plat depending on server )

EDIT : Yes, a 60 BST can solo there without too much of a problem, I would say.

Unlisted MoB

I was with a group that went into the basement through a sliding floor in one of the upper level rooms. It took you down a flight of stairs to a large empty hall. There was some sort of round pulsating circle on the floor. When our tank advanced in the room, two Grimling Elite Deathguards spawned. They were both Level 62. they didnt cast but did summon and could be Mezzed, Snared and Rooted. Had apprx. 45-50K HP. Has anyone run into these, I dont see them listed in the bestiary. We were unsuccessful in killing even one with 63 Shammie, 62 Pally, 60 Rogue, 63 Chanter, 61 Druid and 63 Cleric.
RE: Unlisted MoB
# May 02 2004 at 6:54 AM Rating: Default
Yes Dandolmera, I have run into these guys. For us it went down like this: We sent an eye into the room (seemed clear) we moved in and set up shop to the left of the stairs (edging on caution). Someone in group said to stay away from the thing on floor (as it looked like a teleporter) and we sent an eye out towards the big doors. Same thing seemed clear.

Pally tank decided to walk along the right wall (looking at doors) to see what was up there. Pally went from 100% to 0% in 0.1 of a second. Cleric who was sitting minding her own business was summoned and same thing happened to her. Being a cheery sort of person I decided it might be a good time to try to raise my Beastlord skill in Feign Death and offered to drag back to the corner. Last thing I saw was the Enchanter and Wizard who were following me insta die followed closely by my pet then myself.

In short insta wipe and not a single one of us managed to see what killed us. Bard at zone in did his look through eyes of corpse thing aand said corpses were in the room and that nothing was there. Decided between us to not ever try and go back there again.

We called a necro in and got all corpses summoned safely to the zone in.

As a side note noone in group was under 3k HP and the hits that registered on my screen were a triple hit for 1500 (all in less time than it took to spam the screen).

Note to self: Take a full raid party next time.

a grimling bloodpriest also spawns here. drops the blackened acrylia blade, the blackened acrylia greatsword, and legend of lies. I don't know as of this post as to how to make him spawn, but we camped him one day for about 8 hours, and he spawned after the first 3 hours, then 30 minutes later, and didn't spawn again. Any help as to whether he is on a timer or if he has a ph would be helpful.
