Ranger fear kiting
# Sep 30 2003 at 3:12 PM Rating: Decent
With my 41 Ranger I started fear kiting the large zelniaks for pure XP. On the GE side of the Mushroom fort is a small area where no lightcrawlers come into and you can go out a little ways, snare, cast your Ranger dot and then pull them in. I use my bow to increase my archery skill (currently 190) and I pull it to the base of the hill and then cast fear animal on it and attack it as it walks away (increasing dual wield). When fear wears off I move back and cast it again. When it gets down to less than 20 percent health I cast snare again, stand back and just use my bow. This is giving me very good xp (from 41 to 43), not much loot though, but I am increasing my archery at a fast pace. My main goal is to get my archery to 200!!!!!

This is a bogus link... Tormentx, if you have to do your recruiting for Outwar by disguising it as a link for Everquest information, i'm guessing you're not very good at the game.
Where do the Stonegrabbers spawn/live?
# Apr 14 2003 at 5:38 PM Rating: Decent
My 48 Monk mate wants me to come to DSP with her to kill Stonegrabbers with my 50 Druid. Where do the Stonegrabbers spawn? Coming in from NL zone which way do I turn to find them and are there any PH's for me to kill to get them to spawn? I spent a few levels here killing tribals for the ore loot but never paid any attention to other mobs in my track window. <sigh>

As you come out of NL, turn left and go over the hill. They look like small rocks, usually laying next to big rocks, and they are EVERYWHERE, especially if you don't want them to be.LOL

This NPC was standing high on wall between Greigs End and Sanctus Seru as my level 39 Enchanter and pet were traveling by. Lieutenant Broansas attacked my pet first, he conned red to me (forgot to read faction message), killed pet and came after me. Fortunately I got my gate off.

So watch it if you are running the walls in SW corner of Dawnshroud.

I walked down there with my Level 36 Beastlord. He cons red and dubiosly to me. I think he is on House of Fordel faction because he is involved in a quest for this faction. After i have hailed him he says something about smugglers, and after i asked him "what cause?" he says that i have to find out if some persons are smuggler and where they get a large shipment of goods from. maybe a quest?
Tribal Leader
# Apr 04 2003 at 1:17 PM Rating: Default
There seems to be a new mob here called, Tribal Leader. He does not come from the caves. There is one that comes from the caves but this one was found at the smaller tribes. Was dark blue to a 53 and drop "Slated Sword". It is No Drop with no exrta stats on it. I looked it up on here and there was a diferent post for the sword. Havn't seen any quests for it either. Anyone know whats up?
The mushroom ruins have changed a bit
# Mar 06 2003 at 4:55 PM Rating: Decent
IF YOU LIKE TO SOLO YOUR DRUID:
At the back of the mushroom ruins in the South West corner of teh zone there is a single mushroom outside next to the back South West opening. You could aggro it and pull it and then root and dot it to death on the side of the mountain. You could then go into the South West back entrance wait a second and get 'the ground rumbles underneath your feet' (or something like that) and a mushroom spawns on top of you and you pull it out and kill it like the earlier one. Sadly the mushroom inside the back SW entrance is no longer spawning there.
If you go down the hill and stay alongside the lake edge you could walk up to the front, there are 3 mushrooms up there, get close (but not aggro) the 3 and again you would see 'the ground rumbles underneath your feet' (or something like that) and a mushroom spawns on top of you - this one has been removed too.
I have been able to get close to the 3 mushrooms in front - If you get too close you may aggro all 3 but if you get close enough to cast ensnare I can pull just the front one (this used to aggro all 3 but not yesterday or today). Pull it back (South) to the mountain side and root it and dot it to death (sit and mana up while the dots work). Then go back up front and snare the one on your left and pull to the mountain. Then do the same for the one on the right. Watch out for lightcrawlers and fenzied zelniaks (they both attack everyting) in front of the mushroom ruins.
I have 216 wisdom and max out my skills every level - I can do this with 9 - 10 single mushroom pulls before I have to sit and med up (always sit and med while the dots are working and you will be pulling for hours). I have memmed ensnare, engrasping roots, droons of doom, creeping crud, stinging swarm (immolate gets resisted by too mamny mobs), fury of the air, SOW and skin like steel. Good hunting to all.

Too crowded, and too rude
# Jan 14 2003 at 1:47 PM Rating: Decent
This zone seems to be the upgrade to LOIO, or as I call it, lake of ill manners. KS is rampant, as is crowding and shout spam that rivals the old days in the EC tunnel before the bazaar. Echo canverns may actually be better to hunt in than DSP in my opinion, because I have only seen a handful of people there at any given time, and the XP is very good ganking the underbulks and boglings. Once word gets out on a zone, it's not too long after that when the jerk KS, CS people show up. Ah well, I am starting to like the old Antonica better and better these days )

UPDATE:

I got into a group there last night near the sambata caves, and pretty much bailed from my group. I do everything I can to keep the cleric alive, however, if they cannot stop casting heals before the MT gets enough aggro, then he deserves to be gang raped by sambatas. This happened, and the cleric blamed me. Ok, I will accept the fault there, as my role in a group with a warrior present is secondary tank/caster bodyguard, Ok, my bad..fine. I left the group and decided I wanted to solo, so I left the group and told the party leader. I get a tell from the leader a few minutes later telling me the cleric did the same thing a died again, all in the space of 5 minutes..Lol! Oh dwell.
Been in DSP for 2days now!

I've been in DSP for 2 days now, today and yesterday, I lvled 36 then 37, I walked outta that place today will 10 Polished steel ulaks, I tried to sell some but didnt, Before I camped I got a KEI and a cleric hp buff that took me to 3500 something HP, and I also saw AN AWESOME ulak drop, I would have brought up my monk to loot since it was NODROP, but the corpse was about to decay, and I couldnt get camped and with my monk from EC to DSP in 22, So I had to loot it, I looked it up on Allakhazam.com a second ago, it says Planes of power needed, and I dont have PoP I was in DSP and saw it drop, go to search on Allakhazam.com and put in "Puresteel Ulak" it will bring it up, its really like Exquisite Puresteel ulak, just use Puresteel ulak, and it will bring it up, IT is AWESOME but I cant hand it off to my naked monky =(

Is this possible at my level please
# Dec 30 2002 at 11:55 AM Rating: Decent
hi i am wondering if it would be possible for a group of 3 which consists of a wizard, shaman, and cleric to fight in here. We are all lvl 24 and are looking for some good stuff to fight. Is there a particular area for us to fight in or is stuff scattered all over. Where is good loc to bind at. Any Suggestions, hints tips etc... Thanks.

I would suggest staying in marus seru until 30 possibly as long as 34 when you get your new set of spells. Then I would hunt the Tribals near the greigs end zoneline in Dawnshroud. I soloed them from 35-40 I was getting about half a blue a kill at first then it diminished to about1/3 but they become rather easy to kill by then. GL

HIya all, was thinking about hunting in DSP and fear kiting these 'cute' zelnaiks (jk hehe) and i was wondering if they spawn all over the zone or in one particular area. If so, where? Gonna come here for my first time, excited to come and start slicin and dicin on this little moon called Luclin, :) Im not worried about the wolves to much, being the ranger that i am and they are my buddies. Im just gonna watch out for those other nasty mobs. ;) well cya all, thx for any answer, send me a tell on Xegony. /wave

DP vs. The Overthere
# Dec 23 2002 at 12:06 PM Rating: Decent

As a 29 dwarf cleric, I have been thinking of departing Marus Seru for either the Dawnshroud Peaks or The Overthere. On paper, these zones appear to match up pretty well against each other in terms of level range. DP would seem to offer more money (through selling), but also more general aggro from mobs. The OT provides less money, but also less general aggro from mobs (goons excepted, of course). I have fought in the OT with a prior character, but not in DP. Can anyone offer advice as to which I should choose? As a cleric, I need a group and would like to choose a zone where they will be readily available to join. Experience is much more important to me than money. I appreciate any insight that you can offer. One final question, if I were to hunt in DP, where in the zone should I begin my fighting. (In other words, is there a part of the zone that is relatively weak where adventurers would start and then progress through more and more difficult areas as they leveled?) Thanks.
RE: DP vs. The Overthere
# Dec 24 2002 at 10:47 AM Rating: Decent
The Overthere was great xp for my Dark-Elf Mage. If you are evil (dark-elf, etc...) you will do great there. Those non-evil are kos to all of the guards in and out of the city walls.
I took my Cleric and Ranger to DP and had great xp and great loot hunting the mushrooms and the tribals. For your 29 Cleric you will need a group but that should not be a problem for a Cleric.
Good, if you can stand it.

Was sitting in Echo Caverns at about 31 bored out of my mind waiting for camps to keep popping, when this person asks me if I ever been to Dawnshroud, I'm like - yeah for zelniaks on another char, but I don't think I could handle it at 31.

Boy, was I wrong ... Well, they log on their druid and take me to DS shortly after I dinged 32 and I meet up with their warrior. We pulled the shroom house for quite a while and then they had to camp, and I stayed.

I soloed that place until 37, moved onto Zelniaks (all but small) and Wolves, and now I am 44. My playtime is about 2 days 19 hours also. I recommend DSP to anyone in the level range of 32-42. After 42 it's kind of a chore.

Right now I am spending quite a bit of time just finding dark blues to fight. Need a change of pace, anyone got any suggestions?
I am sick of killing giraffe dogs and being on the set of the Lion King, in short.

Great zone, but very tedious. After about the 500th zelniak you start to question your existence.
