Home to the Sirens of Velious, much of the Grotto is underwater. In addition to the Sirens, whose palatial quarters can be found deep within the caves, there are many types of aquatic life here. Seahorses, swordfish, mermaids, and elementals can be found throughout the area and are highly aggressive. Above water are the passive walruses and a clan of unwelcoming Bulthars.

Rare spawn locations?

I have a very good map of SG, but it doesn't list any of the rare spawns. Has anyone seen a map with the Mistress and Priestess listed on it?

My group have been farming Fellspine for months now and since last patch he haven't been spawning anymore. It is highly possible that Fellspine have been removed. It used to spawn below the tower connected by 3 bridges. There is an alcove underwater where a single seahorse is parked there. Very prominent so you can't miss it.

Drops 4 items. Common: Mask of Swirling water, 4ac 5dex 5wis 25hp 0wt all/all. Uncommon: Spined Seahorse Hide Breastplate, 29ac 15dex 50hp plate and chain users. Rare: Fellspine's Tail, 7/17 7ac 9wis/int effect: Fellspine, 100dd and lowers hate of wielder, pal, sk, war and rng. Very Rare: Spiked Seahorse Hide Belt, 10ac +4 all stats +1 all resists 25hp/mana 33% haste(tested by 6 peoples) 0.0wt all/all.

Nothing personal, but if you are saying that you have been 'farming' fellspine at that particular spot, I think you have just managed to kill the seahorses there a LOT, so Fellspine keeps spawning, because he doesn't have a single spawn spot. Indeed, I have killed him twice in the LONG, DEEP underwater tunnel that leads from underneath the Temple to the area under the Well. I know the spot you are referring to near the Tower, but I have never seen him spawned there. Actually, until you mentioned the spot under the Tower, I have NEVER seen Fellspine anywhere but in the tunnel I mentioned (heck, in the same spot twice, spawning twice in a row).

Nice list of loot tho. We got the tail and the belt, a very rare item on Druzzil Ro. The tail is a good ranger weapon for situations where he wants to deal damage, but not get agro.

I was in SG last night and if you are having trouble landing spells, try Disease and Fire based spell attacks as a majority of the mobs in here have poor resistances in these categories. I was having no difficulty in getting my Disease and Fire/Heat based DoTs to land on the enthralled guys and other mobs in this place.

I was wondering how much a full suit of Netted kelp costs if you could give me a rough estinate that would be great.

For me, SG has always been 'that zone' in the way of WW and ToV. However, I and some guildies spent a while grouping there last night, and I've found it to be one of my favourite zones in velious.
The exp is great, the zone is a challenge (was getting bored with the same old predictable stuff) and the drops were incredible. Every few mobs dropped a quest gem, and every so often a netted kelp piece would drop. After a few hours, our mage walked out with half the netted kelp stuff :)
After everyone left, I decided to head over to WW zone. Now keep in mind I'm an enchanter, and haven't solo'd since lvl12 when my pet made it possible.
Right next to the WW zone line, there are 5 walrus type guys, all con indiff, and have no faction. They spawn in twos, quite seperate from eachother, apart from the last one at the end before the well which is a single spawn. I threw on my CHA gear, and had a great time soloing.
Charm one, haste it, slow the other, root, and sit right by zone with Rune up incase anything happens. The repops are slow, but by the time you clear them, it's almost time for them to repop.
The great thing about this camp is that SG is very underpopulated. Also, this camp cannot be solo'd by any other class except druids, who too have charm, as there is no room to kite, and pets won't stand the double 160 hits. Excellent camp, great zone!

I agree with you about SG, a great zone with good exp and nice loots, quite often I am the only person in there. And when people do show they are often just going thru to WW. But I do disagree that the mobs near zone there can only be solo'd by charming folks. Is true that pets cant take the abuse from most of the mobs, but as a mage I solo in there chain casting earth pets. Root sticks pretty well on most of the mobs giving me plenty of time to cast if I should miss my timing and not get pet off at instant other dies. Gotten quite a few gems and some kelp sitting in there soloing. Duoing is more efficient for me though, 53 and 54 mage can even take the level 53 seahorses chaining pets. Found the excitement I was looking for, hehe. Good hunting.
mistress latzura
# Sep 07 2001 at 12:19 PM Rating: Default
fyi the mistress latzura is possible with one group. use the CS zone to remove aggro when you get it if you arent the tank. warrior chanter cleric chanter and druid/mage/wiz 58 + will work..she is slowable with high lvl shaman..double to quad 375.key to winning is keep her slow and MANA SIEVE MANA SIEVE=)..and yes her drops usually suck but when you whack an approx 65 lvl mob with one grp its pretty cool=)

Fellspine, etc.

This question has been asked at least twice from what i can tell but no one bothered to answer it... does neone know where Fellspine spawns??

also, the sea horses at the CS zoneline DO see invis. and yes, this is a pretty easy zone with a good grp of 50+. The main advantage is if your fiting at the CS zone and it gets hairy you can get everyone out of the water, and med up... unless the zone pops =)

Mobs missing
# Aug 06 2001 at 2:52 PM Rating: Good
A few mobs are missing here..

A watery servant (L50? blue to 57)
A neraid mistress (L51? double attacks for 260'ish)
A siren priestess (L54-56, CH's many times, casts some kind of fast casting AE heal, "invigor")

I also agree with someone here about the named Siren, it dropped weak loot. We killed her once and got a Siren Hair Earring AC2 int/wis2 sta9 ALL/ALL.

Let me begin by saying: Stupid nub reporting for duty.

Moving right along. Isn't Invigor essentially a STA replesnish?

Why whould and NPC need sta?

Clearly a clerical/pally type. If it's a pally I'm beating it with my sticks twice as hard. =p

You odn't want to know what I do to ranger NPC's

SG doable
# Jul 26 2001 at 4:41 AM Rating: Default
This zone is quite doable now for a decent group, I can even solo some of the mobs with my ranger...Just make sure to fight about 2 inches from zone,it's close every fight.
Mezzing
# Jul 22 2001 at 8:06 PM Rating: Decent
Correct me if I am wrong (Monk here), but can a caster affect a MOB at all if the MOB is more than 5 levels higher?

Certainly Reavers etc with their high MR are going to be very resistant to a 47 Enchanter.

RE: Mezzing
# Jul 31 2001 at 10:44 AM Rating: Default
As a Magician Im not sure how mez resists are but I can say that the enthraled mobs are rather hard to Malosi... both Shaman and I had problems getting it to stick even after tash

solo as a 57 druid
# Jul 11 2001 at 7:43 PM Rating: Default
Ive spent quite some time in Sirens Grotto as a 57 druid on Ayonae Ro server and i've noticed its not really that hard as long as you play your cards right and be careful. For the last 2 days i've been hunting from the Western Wastes zone charm soloing everything from the servants up to the enthralled molthars and bulthars easilly, like 250 mana easy. Little risk is involved as long as you keep up SoW and watch out for the wandering Enthralled Bulthar, who can be quite the pain in the a$$ until you kill him. What I do is charm one of the singled out servant sea elephants or walruses, cast Savage Spirit, and bring him down to where their are 2 single spawns of the Enthralled type mobs. With little help, very little help, the charmed mob can solo the molkors and bulthars quite quickly. I find the molkors to be easier because they cast, and being that the mobs are highly magic resistant not much damage is taken, and they dont melee when they cast. Also when they try to complete heal the charmed mob 90% of the time inturrupts the healing spell. Hope this sort of helps all of you who are interested in hunting for quest gems in SG. Also the servants do not from what ive noticed drop gems, but all the other mobs do.
