| This is the home of the outcast Storm Giant Wizard, Velketor, and his minions. The icy, slippery catwalks which greet you upon entering are littered with crystal gargoyles and arachnids, some of which are invisible.
Past the catwalks is a small kobold village with a tunnel leading to the castle. Velketor's castle is guarded by numerous crystal gargoyles, golems, and tentactle terrors. Velketor's throne room can be found in the basement, along with a prison with numerous Coldain captives. Beneath the castle is a twisting maze of kobolds, arachnids, spectres, tentacles, and traps. |

Killed Crystal eyes in Safehall with my group.
Dropped some guants can't remember name but are ac20 str10 mana35 all exept monk and pure casters(clerics can use yup).They have nice silver look too.I'm proud of wearing them now hehe.

Crystal chitin still drops. i got hand wraps last night and ive seen the gaunts and arms and circlet drop

Is the Crystal Chitlin armor just random drop from spiders in Velks? Can someone plz post of what named mobs or common mobs drop the armor these days?

I have a question, i know the dugeon is uber and all and home to a sorceress velktor but how does this fit into the velious lore/storyline, i am sure it has a place unlike ToFos(who only purpose i can assume is to put some undead on velious, because there arn't many elsewhere in velious and you cannot leave out your undead) does anyone know? i am sure its interesting

Well, Velketor the Sorcerer is a giant outcast from Kael. One Kael faction quest involves collecting paws off the Icepaw Kobolds in VL.
Not sure if there is any significant lore to go along with VL, but clearly the giants of Kael sure don't like anything or anyone associated with Velketor.

Hello,i was about to buy a Lute of The Howler. BUT my dumb brother droped 20k on the ground in EC./sigh,so needless to say i am now poor,can anyone please tell me what the Lute of the Howler drops on it would help alot,thanks :)

Sharp Fang a mob at the top level where frenzy spawns.. what the hell is it. Are group got caught off guard by him conned blue to 54 hit us in the low 200s though. Bard died on the way up there we had no mana. I was just wandering what he drops. We had him down to 5 percent hps.

Another mob I have found on the top lvl of rows above the Frenzy, and also pops infront of Fake wall camp area with 2 friends, known loot he dops is, crystal eyes 8ac 35hp 35mana face piece all all, 0.0 weight.

Ular Icepaw -- Upper dogs, believe he was lower 50s, cannot recall class. Think he dropped that belt with 1ac 3wis 3int 20hp/mana...something kinda weak =/

In the main Kobold Area a 2nd Named Kobold Spawned. The first one dropped the Crystaline Belt, but this second one dropped a (sp) Barbed Tunic. It has the Graphic of Ry'gor with 30 AC 9 STR and 50 hp's. I was the only non-guilded member in the group so I elected not to roll so they could have it for the guild vault. Seems to me a good upgrade on the Treeweave so many tanks wear. Weighs only 4 lbs and I imagine most tanks would lose 1 STR for 5 AC and 50 HP's especially Rangers and Rogues.

Went there lastnight (7-16-2001) for the first time, and everything on track was red to me. spent over an hour there, only things that were blue were a few of the named critters, But my group never "saw" them. Cool looking place, didn't go in very far at all though.

IN the kobold villages, we killed rowwek icepaw, real hard mob, he ht twice for 800hp and enrages,
double hit for 200. he kille me in like 4 seconds.
hes drops were, a Kobold jester crown, 30 cha 5 agi -5dex - 20 int. all/all. and a spell spirit quickening.

New mob possibly. I'm not what it's rare is, but a Silver Chitin Wristband dropped. 15AC 7STR 7DEX 3.0weight. Melee only. Unfortunatly i lost the roll. It dropped off of the Frenzied Velium Broodling, which dropped all of us but one. Our group wasn't all that balanced and we had 5, so he should be easy with 6 and a cleric that stays alive. Nice Item.

OK i was hunting in velks the other night and killed this guy. A very strange ring dropped that i have never seen or heard of before.
ring of the frost spiders- 5ac +2 wis +2 int +25hp +25 mana +10 sv poison.
Race - ALL Class - NONE
cant be equipped on anyone, not sure if its broken or what. very nice stats though

Killed him twice other night first time dropped Crystal Chitin Gauntlets (20ac 10str 35mana and 2.0weight) 2nd time he droped his eye (face slot all/all 8ac 35hp 35mana) didnt see any ph while we was there he just kept comin.

This zone has been upgraded quite a bit in the last while
No more green spiders, even at 59 that. ALmost all mobs are 45+
Many of the item's dropped have been upgraded.
And of course with those changes the zone went from a nice 12 people to 50 people on average

Crystal Fang spawned for me at the very top of the ramps. There is a top tier with 10 spiders. Crystal fang spawned in a cluster of 5 spiders at one end of the ledge. Sorry for the poor description.
A 55 Wizzie and 50 Necromancer reported no unusual resistances. He's only spawned once in about 8 hours of camping that spot over 2 nights.
