Miragul's Menagerie expeditions are initiated by talking to NPCs in the Wayfarer camp in Everfrost Peaks (just north of the fork in the ice river).

Deep within the frozen tundra, magic has taken on a form of its own. As Miragul's cursed form walks on the frigid ground above, his menagerie of artifacts and arcane knowledge secretly awaits his return. Created through the use of magic, this lair now seeks power of its own. Do you have strength to harness power that waits beneath the ice... or will you become another specimen in Miragul's collection?

Just curious if there are maps out for this and the other zones yet? I am assuming the layout of the dungeon doesn't change from mission to mission, so maps would be most helpful, I mean there are only so many rooms big enough to hold a boss mob hehe.

Thanks in advance,

raid response
# Oct 24 2003 at 8:51 PM Rating: Decent
You have the right idea, if you can't handle the standing spawn at zone in you have plenty of options, send in Monks to train the mobs away and immediately zone in the rest of the raid to the room so that they can take control of the area via single groups for each of the mobs, or even send in enchanters with them to mez. I was in a single group which could effectively control up to 4 of these mobs at once though, it's not an impossible task to zone into immediate engagements, just be ready, organized and able to adapt, these mobs can be rooted as well btw, have your rooters park em if needed.

Tried a normal setting raid in Everfrost yesterday with 18 people(LDoN raid minimum), average level of 64. Everyone had a minimum of 2 wins in Everfrost, which I think were raid requirements and everyone was level 61+. Had plenty of shamans, clerics, druids, pallies, 1 bard, 1 chanter. It was a total wipe within 5 to 20 seconds. The break in was like Plane of Fear back in the days before PoP. There were about 6 to 9 spider mobs on zone in that hit for upwards of 900. I can understand maybe a hard setting being like that, but this was a normal difficulty raid. Either that's a bug or Sony is out of touch with reality as far as difficulty settings. I sent a /petition and the GM responded saying that all they could suggest was leaving a /feedback to SOE for review. LOL. I certainly did!! I hope the other people on the raid left feedback as well. No wonder no one does LDoN raids. What was Sony thinking? Even if a monk or someone zoned in and cast divine aura, they'd be lucky to live before being hit for 900 each by the mobs at the entrance. That's the only way I can see surviving the break in. A monk needs to zone in, immediately FD, mend or wait until HPs recover a bit, and then train the mobs away from the entrance, FD again or die away from the camp. Needless to say, we did not try again since we did not have a monk and I was not about to ask a Pally to die again and lose even more exp just to "experiment." People even died immediately upon zone in with invis and invis vs. undead so the spiders see both. The raid was an assasination boss type and we were not given any other choice on what kind of raid adventure to chooose, unlike the normal group adventures. Makes sense anyway, I guess. It'd be funny to get a collection adventure from a raid. LOL. Anyway, I hope the next patch makes the normal difficulty more "normal" because honestly, I'm not even sure a Time capable raid of people could survive what we saw. The worse thing about it was that the GM told me that it was her understanding that bodies would not pop until the end of the raid. I think the raid duration was something around four hours, so I suggested that everyone log to avoid losing too much experience and just find a rezz about 4 hours or later when the bodies should pop for sure.

Normal setting Everfrost is geared for Elemental Geared players, hence why you wiped.

tonite our group got hit with plague mites spell that lasted throughout our adventure and even when trying to camp, it continued to lower health. how the heck can u cure this? disinfecting aura did not cure it. cleric could not cure it, so how long does it last??
RE: plaque mites

After going back in to check for chests and such (which so few people want to do) I found "a frost covered barrel" and since as a warrior I have no skill at opening them, I bashed it and eventually "killed it". Wouldn't let me loot while "a hostile being was aware of my presence". So I zoned out, invised and came back and looted it. 5 SvM aug. Cool! So then, well, ya GOTTA look for more =)

I found one, BASH, and up goes Plague Mites. It was doing roughly 85HP per tick to me at 59. I can Bind Wounds to 204 at that point (at 210 I am healing 84 per bind) and with a Ceremonial Iksar Chestplate (+5 Regen), Shell Inlaid Collar (+1 Regen) and Belt of the Great Turtle (+2 Regen) on I was BARELY keeping even.

Made my way from Everfrost back to Freeport to the Temple of Marr with 8% health and proceeded to pay the guy 1p for 100pt heals. Once he got me back up to 100% I camped and came back later that night and worked on my Bind Wounds more (LOL) until it wore off. Ended up at 208 =)

It is a nasty one.

We had a similar problem last night, although ours was after we had completed the mission and were openning trapped boxes. The answer is that Plague Mites is a really nasty disease. After trying all sorts of things, a cleric ended up casting Pureblood x 3 to get rid of it! So, keep curing disease and it'll eventually go away. It lasted a LONG time, too! The other answer is to die and rez... :)

Ok i visit this place with my 32 necro during a mass kill mission. the adventures zone was The Heart of the Menagerie. All there was blue or white to me. Monster i see was:
An insane tormentor (Neg faction with Planar Collective) and another monster, both looks like the monsters of the Plane of Torment.
A babbling holgresh and A demented holgresh (both caster types, give neg faction with Lost Minions of Miragul)
A frost-boned academic
there was more monsters but i doesnt remember the name.
Underestimated dungeon
# Oct 10 2003 at 8:03 AM Rating: Decent
From my experiences, this dungeon seems to be "forgotten" sometimes. It has some of the most complex mazes, awesome Frankenstein-like monsters, very good ALL/ALL items to roll for AND drops are more frequent in "collect" adventures.

Anyway, those stood in our way and die instantly :

1) Zubrulz the Mindfull (65) (same look and pet as Amnesiatic Holgresh) dropped Bow of Eternal Ice

2) Echo of Miragul (61) dropped Slippers of Dark Mana

3) Ruined Amalgam (60) dropped Delightful Orb of Fogotten Magic

One word of warning if you have not visited this dungeon and are low level...watch out for Holgresh enchanters. Being mezzed sucks when you are 6 minutes from goal with 2 items left to collect. :(

My lvl 41 monk went on an adventure here and found some freakish looking mob while pulling, I smack it once and it prompts a message...

I did /say follow and suddenly I have a pet! hehe. BTW PULLERS SHOULD NEVER GET THESE MOB PETS
They work as chanter pets so /pet sit or anything won't work. Better for MT to have it. The dmg isn't so good also. But c'mon.... YOUR A FREAKING MONK WITH A PET!!!

damage zonewide?

can someone tell me if the trap effects are zonewide? rumor i heard. someone please confirm.
RE: damage zonewide?
# Sep 15 2003 at 2:11 PM Rating: Default
One of our pallys was by zone-in running back to town to get another adventure lined up, while the rest of us went after the chests. After trap went off, he had to run back to get healed, so it seems that at least some of the traps may have an extremely large radius AoE, or possibly zone-wide. On the other hand, another trap went off while I was trying to use the useless level 34 spells they give Mages. I got hit, while my party in the other room did not. So, in reply, I guess that like everything else in EQ, it depends.
RE: damage zonewide?

From my limited experience, some traps have an AOE effect, and others just on the target. The Inanimate object detrimental traps have bad, large range AOE poison. I also accidentally killed one of the Confused Mutant thingies with an AOE rain & it refreshed the party's mana! That is a very good trap.

I have not seen anything that was zonewide, though.

timer
# Sep 10 2003 at 8:53 AM Rating: Excellent
When we went there was a timer and a quota of mob's to be killed b 4 the adventure was completed. It was a blast. Found a barrel that regenerated very quickly but we eventually broke that wasn't trapped. We also found 2 chests one had an aoe sand blast DD. the second had a charming trap that turn our rogue on us. There were also various wall traps that caused some kool looking effects as it poisoned our grp. Next we found a few infiffrent mobs at 2 % health that were confused. When killed they spawn multipule mobs that are hard to handle without crowd control. Once the mob quota was reached we each received 14 adventure points to buy items. Which showed up in the adventure mechant's selling list after the points were earned. Some of these were a forgotten spear of halas, necro and shamen spells, and boots and cloak i think. The shm spell I noticed was a trap removeing spell. After the timer was completed I think we had about 30 minutes to kill the rest of the mobs in the dungon which we could'nt accomplish. All in all it was a fun experiance.

Its going to be hard to sescribe a specific zone since it changes for each group that enters as far as the MOBs, the drops and where the traps are.

Those darn runes are back as many have seen. I solved the new puzzle on the LDON site. We'll be seeing a quest NPC in the Everfrost Wayfarers Brotherhood named Kizpi. Supposedly it's to upgrade the sack you get as a free item with LDON. Or something like that.

It does, just be sure to get your adventures stone first, then you can just port to all the other camps and get the 10slot 50%wt reduce in about 10-20 minutes.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the bag is only given to people that buy the RETAIL version of the game. Did SOE change their minds and give out the bag to everyone who registered the expansion?
