VhalSera, one floor lower in Tower of Frozen Shadow, also uses this. Oddly, my log doesn't show all the messages listed here. I see him casting Vampire Charm (spell awareness LAA makes it obvious), then "You lose control of yourself". A varying time later I see, "You have control of yourself again", and still later, "You are no longer charmed". I'm not sure what the effect is (if any) between regaining control and no longer being charmed.
