New Effects

The effect of the spell has been updated, but no one posted about it. Sony nerfed this spell at some point. I recently got it on my druid and was under the impression that it still did a 600 point direct heal that could crit for 1200. That is no longer the case.

The new effect is a Heal Over Time buff. It heals for 393 per tick. I still procs quite often, so it's basically a constant HoT in the Songs window.

I was rather disappointed when I tested it for the first time.

If the spell doesn't stack with existing HoTs, that makes it 100% useless, as a 400 pt HoT is weaker than what a Paladin can cast even, especially since it only tics for 1 second.
nerfed?

I just got this spell today and was testing it in corathus creep with my level 68 druid casting on my level 72 warrior while he had the attention of multiple mobs. I kept this spell on the warrior for at least 100 fights and never once saw it do anything.... not even one heal. Are there no "proc" messages, does the spell not work now? Are there level req. for the mobs you are fighting, incompatable spells etc.? I'm highly dissapointed in this spell right now, seems pretty useless right now unless I'm using it wrong or something.

My Druid's on Zek. I'd seriously consider having him summon and haste his pet and using it to attack the tank at times this spell's on it.
great spell

Very usefull spell. It stacks with hot's and regen.
Best part is it will crit for 1200 heal if you have healing crit aa.

In places like GE with 10 or so mobs, it can CH a tank in seconds and as the tank is healing himself/proc'ing no agro for the druid.
great spell

Crit is based on wearers healing AAs, seems on a cleric their AAs differe and it does more than 600/1200, builds insane agro, perfect for a tank ESing or killing multiple mobs, tank will garenteed hold agro on all mobs in the earea, it has the same agro as a cleric fast healing so on raids its amazing for tank agro and also amazing for druid soloing, griegs DS and so many toher places you can tank 4 mobs and stay full HP, a must quester

Spell info - Adds chance to proc a 600hp heal when your getting hit.

Correction: Adds a chance to proc a 600hp heal when you're getting swung at.

Misses, parries, blocks, ripostes, and dodges can proc it too.
Slight problem

Unfortunately, I've discovered that along with the short duration (although 1:30 with extension isn't bad for the effect) that this spell also only lasts a certain number of procs. This I am absolutely certain of. While mass training greenies for faction and whatnot, I'll cast this and after proccing insane amounts of times in a short span it will wear off at about 1:00 or :45 left on the timer. =(

At least, however, the number it takes will never be attained from fighting single mobs and it tends to wear off due to the duration most of the time, it's just situations like this where it ends up proccing 30-40 times consecutively.
It can crit

This spell rocks imo, not only does it last for 1:36 on me with my AA's and focuses instead of 1:00 as listed, but it can also crit for 1200. However i dont know if it crits based on the casters AA's or if it crits based on the healing AA's of the person that has it on them. Ill post back when i have more info but if anyone could beat me to it that would be great.

There is an excellent write-up and overview of the spell progressions for the new DoD zones at:

Saves a lot of confusion! Have fun and good hunting!

Are there any write ups on the DoD Spell progression...what kind of groups do we need?
RE: Info

Did the quests with a group of 70s:

Cleric
Druid (me)
Monk X 2
Shaman
Warrior (15219 HPs / 2807 AC raid buffed)

We are all Time / Uqua / Qvic geared and we basically breezed through it. With no CC one or both of the Monks would off-tank and I would heal them while the Cleric focussed on the Warrior.

I was without CV or mind candy the majority of the time and had no problem "CHing" while dealing a healthy amount of damage as well. The Monks didn't even bother single pulling, though I am sure they could have easily, because the mobs were so easy.

The named were not too bad, but I suggest reading the information posted about the peculiarities of each. They all have a different things they do (i.e. Increase or decrease in strength as they get lower in health, etc.).

The last named from the last portion of the quest appears to switch aggro fast if the MT is using Defensive Discipline, so make sure they use other forms of mitigation, etc. or the healers will be oom trying to keep everyone else alive when aggro switches and the named hits the casters for 1700 or so.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 01 2005 at 8:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Where do we get this spell?
RE: Where?

You get the spell by finishing the five missions that comprise the level 68 DoD spell progression, then going to Undershore and hailing Brother Hidden Path.
if all goes as planned

Causes your target's skin to take on a reptilian appearance. When the target is struck by melee combat the skin will often attempt to heal it's wounds. (from eq caster data base )
skin of the reptile + hungy vines= clr and tank serenity
hungry vines = DS+ damage mitigation + snear= happy tank
skin of the reptile = instant heal when struck = smiling healer
What does it do?
# Sep 15 2005 at 5:52 PM Rating: Default
Decreases mitigation? So is it a detrimental spell cast on NPC's etc. or like Oaken Guard or is that an Allakhazam typo?
