I believe it is procced as opposed to triggered. It summoned a hard hitting (around 100 in the days when 50 was uber) dog, with a whopping 1 or so HPs (aka dies first hit).
Would be interested to know if pet lasts whole fight so long as it doesn't steal agro and get hit for 1HP? And assuming mob doesn't have a DS.

I saw a ranger in OS the other day use that, it procs and when it does , it summons a wolf, much like shaman ones, that hit their target for not long , i duno why it was so quick to die, maybe cuz it have a timer on its life, if so i would say its 0.5 sec to 1.0 sec , anyway the weapon is pretty crappy and the proc is not worth it IMO, and i dont like to relay on procs. was proccing like 3 times per fight if i remember right, duno the dmg wolf does nethier.
If you are expecting a pet. Your wrong. Think of it as a decent proc with a REALLY NEAT visual : )

It's also damage for no aggro. When the pet poofs, so does the aggro... which was never associated with the player who proc'ed it.
What is a mistwalker exactly and what does it look like? I'm really intrigued by this.

I don't think it proc. I think you summon your pet by right-clicking on the sword...
