You can farm these and store them on low-level shrouds. The shrouds will hold them indefinitely.
The sooner & more you start doing this, the sooner they will fix this gaping exploit.

Just thought I'd let folks know that since the expansions came out there are a few changes.
This item will stack in sets of 20. It is potion belt activated and will keep track of where the 21+ orbs went in inventory.
It also does improved damage based on items and AA's, but still only heals for 850.
Still not bad tho... 1k+ damage for the mana and 850 heal... with solid tanks and a stack of these Necros can sub healers.
Also, it doesn't matter what you tap it from... a grey (no xp) rat in a newbie zone still gives you 850 hp heal. (Lot of dead aviaks on the way to Paw)

just an Update: they nerfed our heal AAs with the last patch, so it is now a fixed 978 points of damage and heal. However i was just farming in Kern's tower, and it did do 1020. Not sure why...... I'll work on AAs and see it crit DD works on it eventually.....

This spell makes my necro happy, its decent damage per mana (i got oom alot now just cuz im orb crazy). Since the orbs stack in 5 (but you can have more than one stack) just kill some green trash mobs and fill up...lich back to full mp, heal and go :)

I just got this spell and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it's utility. Not only is there a -200 resist adjust on the spell, but the orb is instant cast, usable every 30 seconds. I comes in handy more than I thought I would, for those times that I want to throw in one last nuke, I may as well collect an orb from the cast and use the healing later.
this spell is from don i think it was 120 or 135 crystals, not alot. nice spell, saved me quite a few times along with various group members. crit for 1700 max so far, not positive if having crit lifetap aa's helps this, altho it should because technically it is a tap type of spell, its even listed under taps when you go to load it, its a reverse tap. mine crits often, i have full pop lifetap crit aa's and workin on others. will post more as i train and see how much more it crits, if any.
Still have seen exactly what this spell does. The description on the spell reads:
"Consumes the life energy of your target and creates a dark orb. The energy in this orb can later be used to heal your companions."
Is this similar to sacrafice with EE's? How do the orbs work?

When you use this spell you damage a mob and creat an orb with that damage, you can then target your pet, groupmate, or anyother person and do a click heal.
Having max heal aas will make it crit alot and can save the necro using it and others on large AE raid mobs.
Other then that i cant see this being used for anything other then pettanking but not many necros do that with AoD anymore.

Thanks! Have not bought the spell yet. Was trying to determine whether it was worth the 120 crystals.
Are the orbs stackable? Are they No Rent? Can they clicked from inventory?

You can stack the orbs in stacks of 5, they are no rent, and you can click it from your belt pouch.
I'm fairly sure this is a spell from DoN expansion, so probably from completing tasks in DoN or purchased with crystals from DoN missions.

ahh hello, where do u get this spell?
30 second recast time on the orbs and not the spell, the spell seems to be easily chain castable, can target anyone with the orbs, good for self healing while liched or for a quick heal and yes the crits are nice
