I went to Katta today and none of the people in the caster area are traders any longer.

You can buy it at any magician guild, or at the Magic School in Katta.
Great pet!

This pet is amazing. From what I've seen, this pet either blasts itself, or use an area effect and actully heals itself. While lacking root, the innate damage shield, healing, direct damage, all make it probably the best pet when not in dungeons (assuming you want earth for dungeons, so you don't get adds), either soloing, or group.

It is a great pet, but it is the same as all the other 4-49 fire pets. It casts a damage shield on itself, which is often better then the mage's damage shield, and it will cast a fire-based DD in combat. It does not cast any AEs, and it will not heal itself other than its innate regeneration.

It has the lowest hitpoints of the 4 pets, but the damage shield adds quite a bit of damage to finish mobs faster. Pre-50, it is my pet of choice.

It's not often better. It's always better. Far better. Unless of course you're summoning like a level 12 pet at level 50. If I remember correctly, the fire pet DS is their level (not yours unfortunately) +1. This formula is the same for all fire pets, since they all use the same spell that simply scales with the caster's level.

And the reason the original poster thought it had a heal spell is because at level 39 the pets get a massive bonus in innate regeneration. It jumps from 6/tick to 30/tick. That's like comparing an ikky regen bp to 2 fungis. At 39 pets also begin to dual wield on their own without having to be given weapons. I've heard they can occasionally quad at this level, but I've never seen it because I always stand a ways away from the pet in combat.

Anyway, 39 is a gigantic jump in power for mages. Especially with a focus item. At 39 I moved to a significantly harder spot (CC where orcs were occasionally green to gunthak where all was DB) and was killing much faster with less downtime. 38-39 took me like 7 hours. 39-40 took me like 3 or 4. I almost feel like I'm cheating. This pet is sick and wrong.
