alot of our spell and ability upgrades suck and ill tell ya as a bst that cant get on when most are raiding i have key for seb and thats it so im way behind a lot of ppl as far as gear/spells/etc and i find it hard sometimes to find grp because of it and im not even sure id wanna join a raiding guild with mandatory raids due to the fact that this is a game and i dont want another player telling me i HAVE to play their way so i can get the crappy upgrades sony eeks throught to our class instead of playing with my friends and having fun i hear and understand all the ******** and have this to say the best way to put an end to our class getting shafted like this is not ******** here but rather where sony cant miss it and not just on spells or gear some of the quests ive tried to do that are supposed to be solo missions for a few lvls below my lvl (since i have crappy gear i wait a few to improve my chances) i had to have someone else run in and drag out multiple corpses before i got DoN and afterward i stayed broke because i was summoning at least 3 corpses a night i guess what im saying is instead of ******** to each other we oughtta send sony an email or something about giving our class a TRUE UPGRADE ive seen a few bsts tank but they had ALL their flags and keys and had gear that for all of it being leather had stats almost like plate only of a lower required/recommended lvl plate item and had been in mandatory raid guilds for forever before they were even asked is there something you want to raid for with almost every other class being asked before them and where just about jaded on the whole game because without doing all the uber ***** they had a lot of trouble getting anything done rant over i have more to say but anger is beginning to make my thoughts incoherent

Wow, your angery. Whats even more apparent, you didnt use any puncuations or sentence breaks.

None the less, I feel your pain. If you want upgrades, then think about doing Tradeskills. There is some gear out there for us Beastys that is awsome compaired to some of the stuff out there dropping. I am not sayin it compairs to MPG Trial stuff, or DoN Dragon drops, and nowhere near CoA stuff. However, it is good gear to get you by. Tradeskill stuff like the Grandmaster's stuff is just one example of how you can improve your gear. If you dont have the money, then do what I do, do more Tradeskill stuff and sell in the bazaar. Eventually you will get more and more money and you will be able to put it twords better gear and such.

I also agree that Sony has been lacking reguarding the Beast class, but I will take that rant to the EQLive boards, it doesnt belong here.

Hope you start getting better gear and such. I need to finish looking at this thread for the information I was lookin for in the begining.

I think it's strange that instead of commenting on the spell itself, we've taken to chastising someone for their grammar. Grow up, people.

In case you guys don't know, beastlords, as well as other classes, I'm sure, get 150% attack rating from any worn or buffed attack. So this 187 to attack is actually more like 280. Not bad.

I duo with a Ranger, my room mate, quite often. Neither he, nor I, are in amazing gear, we're not CoA flagged, and we're not the best in our classes. So when we're grouped with our guildmates, doing quests and the like, in zones that have mobs that are far more powerful than us, this spell comes in handy to keep us both on par with the DPS that the rest of our group is outputting.

If he wants to hit trueshot he always asks for this spell first. It makes SURE that he hits, and hits hard. It's also great for us lower end Beastlords to buff our pets with, as our pets have a hard time actually connecting on attacks in situations like what I've mentioned. And with Mnemonic Retention, I like to keep this and the original Ferocity up at all times, so I can keep myself and my pet buffed with either spell at all times.

Just a little food for thought, guys.

I can't help but gripe when I look at this spell.. Original Fero - 600 mana, 150 atk, 40 stam, 65 all resists, 6.5 min duration.

NEW Fero - 750 mana, 187 atk, 52 stam, 65 all resists, 6.5 min duration. Wow, It was hard enogh doing a 3 person rotation but now.. you better have a god danm clairvoyance if you want to do any dotting or nuking. 150 more mana for.. +37 more atk than before.. same resists, puny STA upgrade too. I don't even use stamina, it's maxed unbuffed! The only thing I could ask of this new Fero is to just make it last longer, I can make fero last 9 minutes using my shield and that still sucks.. they could at least lower the recast time for f*cks sake.. Oh well.. when I'll ever see this spell anyway.

bst vs shaman

first off I'd like to say that I'm a lvl 70 beastlord that isnt even elemental flagged and I already have 310 sta unbuffed. However here is something I dunno if any of you really realize. This line of beastlord spells and shamans avatar line stack. So I get the attack from from both lines, the resists, and all the stat bonuses from the shamans. I for one will not complain about it.

The issue on this spell is not for those who are below the sta/atk(soft) caps. Anyone who is wearing even low end raid gear as a beastlord or pure dps class has both sta and atk at caps (most likely far over.)

Beastlords didn't even have Paragon of Spirit until almost the time Planes of Power came out, and Ferocity came as the companion to our 65 slow, which was the only one we got just about better than the proc on our epic weapon. Back then, at least for a good while, Ferocity and Paragon were in high demand and usefulness as few were at the caps and these spells got you there.

Not only that, resistances were a big issue on these spells as well but at best the bst could only keep on three or four people at best. With today's gear, even a lot of non-raid gear, Ferocity is nearly useless in of itself.

Paragon/Perfection just do not heal/return mana in comparison to what they used to for the gear now.

However, if you're still below the soft/hard caps on atk and sta, go for it. I for one haven't been asked for it by ANYONE in nearly 2 years, whereas I used to have to set up a rotation even in PUGs.

Shamans complain about getting passed up for groups, but that shouldnt happen so much now with they're new buffs. However, BLs get passed up on high end raids like mad (as ppl feal they cant add enough). SOE did nothing to address this. If They had made this spell a group version (like they did for shamans)it would go miles to make BLs more useful on raids. We would be able to MGB it and ppl would become addicted to the resistance and atk bonus. If they really want to balance the classes then they need to modify this spell.

Like with Paragon this Fero upgrade is rather insulting. Both were defining Beast spells/AA and again we get screwed because some shaman whine about us being unbalanced. Honestly I like a shaman in group. It means I can DPS and not get beat on and I don't have to single cast ghetto focus. They take away some of what helps define us as a class. I have had to sit out on more Uqua raids then I have been allowed on because we aren't pure DPS and our buffs/AA don't "contribute" enough. SOE needs to balance us and help define our class, not listen to shaman or monks whining about class balance and then tipping the scale the other way.

Just a little something i failed to add to my last post. Group version means it can be MGB'd. Think of how much more useful BLs could be on raids if they could mgb an upgraded version of ferocity, what with all the resistances it gives.
Still, im happy for shamans, but if they're gonna give it to them they should give it to us, too.

well making Fero a group version would be nice, but personally I would be satisfied if they just deleted the Sta part which basically nobody needs.
Hell im lvl 70 with all stats capped @355 (buffed)
Every melee I can think of off hand is max capped Sta.

For an extra 100 mana they should have added at least something to resist make them +75 to all and upped atk to 200.
In place of Sta even a minor Damage mod of just 2% would have been nice, they may as well have added 52 Charisma.
What this spell does do though, is I can load both This and reg fero and keep more Rogues buffed easier.

Um, excuse me for complaining about a new spell, but. The shaman upgrade to FA gives a 10% damage modifier and is a group version!! Why the heck are you arguing about sta? Ferocity was = to or better then FA (to anyone with they're stats any where close to maxed)! Its nice that they made shamans' job easier and increased they're spell power at the same time, but why did they do it for shamans an not for BLs??????
Dont try and tell me that they want to keep shaman buffs better than BL buffs either. like i said, Ferocity is = to or better than FA, and both were same duration single target spells. If they are gonna give shamans a group version of FA (and give it a damage modifier) then why not give us BLs an equal upgrade?

Have ya all looked at the new shammie spells omg is all i can say hell dam cc get a shammie 69 with his/her oow spell into ya group they can cast some awsome buffs now .85 over cap str and dex and 40 over cap sta. 7% avoidence and 5% dam bonus = serious butt kickage .This spell is now dog dodo

Whats the use for a shaman if they give beastlords all the same spells? Shaman already get passed up in groups if there are bsts available quite often because the dps more than makes up for 10% lower slow.
This spell costs alot of mana and is not a group spell because you are a hybrid monk/shaman and should not be a better spell caster than a pure caster. Next thing you know beastlords will be complaining about not being able to wear chain...So hush up your class rules, look at your OoW nuke you can now nuke as well as one of your parent classes too and your new pet heal is awesome

Shaman and beastlords really should NOT be put in the same slot. They share a few similiar abilities. Shaman can slow. Beastlords can slow. Shamans can buff. Beastlords can buff. Shamans have a pet. Beastlords have a pet.

However, beyond that, they're not really anything alike. Shaman's may only have a 10% better slow in direct numbers than a beastlord, but theirs is far harder to resist, they get at least 2 different resist check slows, tools for lowering resistances, etc.

Shamans get group buffs, stat cap raising buffs, %mods to various melee effects, etc. Beastlords get a single-target 513hp buff, and a lvl 49 shaman spell(which is gotten from turning in lvl 61/62 parchments at the beastlord spell turn-in...even for shamans..) that no one wants because it does relatively nothing. We also get SA/SV, which are generally either clicked off or BLOCKED by a large majority of players. BBB is always chosen over SV because of the atk soft caps, and because SV doesn't stack with various other classes self-buffs but BBB does.

Shamans excel at doting(necros are a different story in this discussion) have poison nukes as well as their cold(at least it's some diversity) and can HoT/quick heal at least decently.

Beastlords however get better melee capibilities(or we should, sometimes I swear shaman do better), and their pet is much more powerful, if still somewhat gimp.

To be honest, I enjoy having both classes in a group as they actually compliment each other. The shaman can do the slowing/healing/spell dps while the beastlord takes care of melee dps, can spot heal occasionally, offtank, and help pick up the slack a bit on slows if an emergency occurs.

Generally, beastlords either get chosen for a group for two reasons:
1)The group could not find a better slower.
2)They're desperate for dps.

About the SD 'upgrade'. When SA first came out, they were still in their shorter duration forms. From Spiritual Light on, all our spells had gotten a 2/2 upgrade on the hp/mana regen at every level. Even before OoW came out, SD's general usefulness had been dropping. 9/9 hp/mana per tick just didn't cut it with the amount of hp/mana that needs to be regened(hp/mana regen caps really need to be readdressed when the max hp/mana of chars is nearly three-four TIMES what it once was if not more).

SA was a 1/1 increase, took 2x as much mana as SD, and had half the casting range. Now it's only 100 more mana but that's only because SD's mana cost was severely increased when the durations were 'fixed'. For an 'upgrade' this is laughable, if not even a slap in the face, just like ferocity.

SD/Fero/PoS were awesome in their day...but now they need a real upgrade. The group part of fero would make it even a little desirable if just for the resists.

I can only imagine how much worse it will be in the next expansion where we're going to have the level caps raised again(don't even ask me my opinion on that).

We're still useful, but rarely called in over another class.

I totally agree this spell is hardly an upgrade compared to some of the other upgrades other classes get, similar to the SD upgrade can hardly even call them an upgrade.

As for why someone would choose a shaman over a beast pre OoW they are pretty obvious Malo, better heals, better slows, better dots, better nukes /takes a deep breath......., better buffs. As for reason to take a bst better melee and better pet.

Learn how to play your shaman if you truly are one. A good shaman will always get groups, a good beastlord will always get groups they both have their strengths and weaknesses its up to the player to know how to use them, if you really think the only thing a shaman has to offer a group is 10% better slow you are an idiot.

crap spell and we as bsts got gipped in the OOW spells big time .Worse yet our community rep in soe should have gotten from the forums that most bsts thaught the the spells we were getting sucked and tried to get some of em upgraded .
Hell druids get a 5 % dam mod buff .

once you get 65 get pp5 and max your stamina out from 1-2 buffs do we really need more stamina on our ferocity spell, hell i'd rather have hp regen or something on it rather than stamina just my thought as an elemental beastlord~
