Good For Iffy Situations
# Jan 31 2006 at 12:21 AM Rating: Default
Very Good for the Extra Hand, If Their's no Enc or he oddly don't have AE This is good to stop 1 to 2 mobs for a few seconds for him to Snag Them During One Of those Majorly Bad Pulls. I've Accomplished 3 Messing Without Doing Anything Else Until an Enc AE Messed Them. Very Good for Those Tight Spots, Keep It Up Incase.
Charisma

I don't know about this spell being affected by Charisma or not. If it has a fixed duration of 18 secs, then Charisma aint gonna do you much good. If you find that it's breaking before the 18 sec mark, then your CHA does play a part. CHA also affects your Fear spells, so there is a point to having your standard gear boosting your CHA as much as possible. Though you will find, as I have, that much of the Necro gear out there has a negative modifier on it. Why Sony would want to do this to us is beyond me and probably Sony itself. But there is a good case for buying gear that boosts this stat as much as possible. Just not sure if this spell is one of the reasons or not. Not yet 22. =-)

CHA does affect this. CHA affects charms and mezes. CHA will extend their timer. Since this works up to 55, you can very well be a mezer of a group in tier1planes and easier parts of GE. pull of your steins and go crowd control. You necs need to remember that it is CHA affected, if you are getting annoyed by it breaking after 1-2 ticks, and not noticing your CHA is 20 or 30, because of your nec only gear killing it, need to take those off and equip steins, you'll notice huge difference.

Sorry, but unless this was changed in a patch, Screaming Terror is a FIXED 18 sec duration. The only time it breaks early is if someone attacks or dots the mob. CHA is irrelevant to duration on this spell.
Charisma based?

I have a necro and a chanter, and was wondering if charisma affects charm & mezz spells for necro's like it does for chanters? Does charisma affect fear based spells?

About this spell

I personally love this spell. It works on both the living and the dead. You can be a poor man's chanter with this thing, the only thing is you cant mez more than 3 of them efficiently because of the time it takes to cast and switching target time. If you chain cast it and switch targets you can act as a chanter for a limited period of time and let the tank polish off each mob in turn.

I have saved the group I was in more times than I can count in LDoN with this spell(before I hit the higher level immune mobs). If you are going to be charming a mob as well, this spell should be in your ******* up at all times to get the mob back under control when charm breaks. Do not use root or you will have a charmed uselessly rooted mob. First have a ranger or druid cast a 15 minute snare on your chosen pet, then while the tanks are tanking him charm him.

Once charm breaks, cast screaming terror on him to stop him and then cast your charm. You will have a short wait before the mez breaks but not long since it only lasts for 18 seconds. Then you got your pet back and can get back to work.

I just wish we had gotten an upgrade to this at future levels. This spell only effects level 55 mobs and below. The only one we get later like this is death's silence and it only works on the undead. That makes our charms not so easy to handle without getting hurt at higher levels.

It won't attack you IF you can stop attacking and get out of aggro range before the end of duration. i have used it once or twice to get away from a bad situation.

...if you get outta aggro range AND the mem blur worked...

No, if you run far enough from a mob while it's mezzed it will not worry about you, but if you get within a 200 yard radius it'll get a 6th sense about you and train the zone =-p. So if you mez and run for zone you should be fine. Alos the max amount of mobs you can mez is 2 with a very slight time inbetween mezzes (Provided one doesn't resist)

Using this and the feign line of spells in a group makes you a decent enchanter (Just make sure you don't fall down when you feign). This spell affects NPCs up to level 55 and can work on PCs up to 65 (On a blue server dunno about a Zek)
