Focus Effect: Murams Anger does work with this, so do dot crit aa's, i have seen it do 800 in one tic...however you always get 180 hp a tic from this, unless you have Improved Healing which are great, this spell is a great heal and a great dot

Raid self heal

I suppose if you count on this to stay alive its a nice spell. I use my clicky helm and get heals mana free. I use lifetaps if its important enough. Its a waste of time to use this dot if you dont need to load and/or use this. The clicky helm does not use a spell slot. This spell is good on raids though, any method of staying alive when you have a gimp cleric is very helpful. The clicky helm takes too much time to cast during raids.

i have also noticed that when the spell supposedly wears off i some how always get 1 extra tick out of this spell. this is a decent spell if your soloing and you lich to about 60% health and want to refill yourself to full or really close to it, lifetaps are nice but unless you crit heal your gonna have to tap 2 times to refill yourself, i use soulspike to tap with (563 mana), while this spell will do it in 1 cast, also gear with the effect murams anger makes this even nicer, does on avg about 425 per tick instead of 370 per tick, not sure if that effects how much hp you get back per tick tho, but it seems to, so its a alright spell, but yes it sure does cost alot of mana lol.

does this heal the group like zevfeers theft of vitae or just me? and if just me, then why didnt soe think to ever upgrade zevfeers?? that was a great spell. anyway...

Correct me if I'm wrong here. Unless my calculations are incorrect, this spell is more efficient for damage/mana but less efficient for health/mana than Saryrn's Kiss. I typically don't use my lifetaps unless I need the health since they are very inefficient damage/mana wise. The damage/mana ratio on this is not good enough that I'd consider it to use as a dot purely for damage. I'm thinking that I'd use Saryrn's Kiss still instead of this due to this spells poor hp/mana efficiency.

What are other's thoughts on this? (And, are my calculations flawed?)

My calcualtions are as follows (excluding any foci)
Saryrn's Kiss:
dmg/mana: 3.6363...
hp/mana: 2.7272...

Fang of Death:
dmg/mana: 3.94666...
hp/mana: 2.4


Edit: Saryrn's Kiss dmg/mana and hp/mana ratios are actually 4 & 3, respectively. Regardless, Saryrn's Kiss is still more efficient and my opinion doesn't change. However, I could see using this in those situations where I need the quick hps and efficiency is not quite as important as staying alive. (i.e., lifetap tanking)

Hmmm... Actually, your calculations ARE incorrect...

For Fang of Death:
damage / mana...
370 per tick * 7 ticks = 2590.
2590 / 750 = 3.4533...

hp / mana...
225 * 7 = 1575.
1575 / 750 = 2.1.

What DO they teach in schools these days??

I rechecked my calculations on Fang of Death... they are correct. It lasts 7 ticks but it hits 8 times. Honestly now, you'd think a level 69 necro would know this BUT I guess his school didn't teach him to count. Get the facts before you correct somebody, Saeed.

However, my calculation on Saryrn's Kiss were wrong. dmg/mana = 4 and hp/mana=3

That means that Saryrn's Kiss is more efficient in both dmg/mana and hp/mana.

yeah, it is kinda rough on the mana. Seeing 800+ crits is pretty nice though. Also only lasts 42 seconds instead of 60 :|
