What exactly does this spell do? Is it like truevision that allows you to see invisible? Please explain.
Says ultravision so I'd say that's all you get

Okay, but what is Ultravision?
Ultravision helps you see in the dark. This spell is worthless for any but Human rangers.
There are two types of dark/nighttime vision in EverQuest, Infravision, and Ultravision...
As far as Rangers go, I would not say that Ultravision is useless by any stretch of the imagination.
Yes, three of the four Ranger races have innate Infravision (except Humans... see my sig below :p ) - but I would take Ultravision over Infravision any day... Infravision does reveal surrounding terrain in low-light situations, but it highlights MoBs (red aura) in the area much more... whereas Ultravision gives much more overall light to the entire field of vision - revealing both MoBs and terrain much more effectively.

Chill Sight can also be purchased from Pathfinder Viliken in the Plane of Knowledge.
