This is more out of curiousity than need-to-know:

Say the target has no DS on it. The -25 to its DS doesn't come back as a reverse DS that's then added to the reverse DS component of this spell, does it? The Reverse DS of that MOB would stil be just 45?
Also, if a MOB has, say, a DS of 70. If you cast this spell on it, while those hitting it be informed of receiving both life and damage per hit, will it not say anything, or will it combine them into one message, telling them that they've been healed for and damaged by 45?

If the mob has no DS on it, that part of the spell has no effect. It JUST hits the mob for 45 (unless you have other effects in place which can increase the DS)

I LOVE THIS SPELL.

The simple fact that I no longer need to cast two spells anymore is a gift from the gods.

Reverse Dmg Shield = 45pts dmg to mob per hit.

Decrease Dmg Shield 25pts = Just what it says. Lowers the Dmg Shield of whatever you are hitting by 25pts.

*NOTE: This spell stacked with a damage shield potion Kilva's Skin of Flame ( [drinker lv / 2] +1 for dmg.) stacked with druid, mage ect... dmg shield buffs = A whole lot of hurt for the mob that hits you.

My cleric can deal out 100+ each time she is hit by the mob using this combo. Add in a Ward buff and you become a very lethal target.

There is a lot of confusion about what this spell does, apparently.
First of all: This spell adds a healing DS to the affected mob, same as the MoKs. The longer the weapon delay, the bigger the heal. This healing DS goes in DS slot one, which means it will OVERWRITE any druid/mage type DS.
It MAY also be specifically coded to overwrite other-slot DSes, I have not tested this.
Second: This adds a Reverse DS to the creature it lands on, causing 45 damage to that creature every time it strikes someone. This means up to 4 times per quad.
There is no form of rune component to this spell.
This spell heals.

After reading the posts here and then seeing the spell comments I was afraid it was just another reverse damage shield. Maybe it was changed or something, but this spell DOES heal. I just went around tossing it on newbie mobs and waiting for a server tick to attack them. With epic 1.0 I was being healed 8hps every time I struck a mob with this spell on it, though sometimes the amount healed seemed to be more.
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 17 2005 at 12:47 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So you're telling me you had a message telling you that you were healed, or were you looking at your HPs? The spell description has NOTHING to do with healing, I'm telling you, it's a < !!!! Reverse Damage Shield !!!! > and < !!!! only !!!! > a reverse damage shield. And who the hell cares about a whopping 8 freakin' HPs anyways.
RE: This spell heals.

I know the spell description says nothing about healing, but go out and test it yourself. I watched my HPs, and every hit with epic = 8hps recovered/healed or whatever you want to call it. MoK was supposedly weapon delay based, so the actual amount healed per hit by this spell may vary with different weapon delay. I didn't test that. This spell does a good job of healing 5-10% of melees' health in an average length fight, not to mention the fact it removes the mob's DS and adds one of its own. A good spell all around.

after soloing a frost giant i`v discoverd that at no point was i healed but the mob did 45 points Dam every time it hit me. it will remove 25 points off of any dam shield it has as well. it will not heal anyone

You are correct, Mark of the Blameless has nothign to do with healing, it's a DS ONLY! NOTHING about the spell heals.
Tested
# Jan 06 2005 at 2:30 PM Rating: Decent
Tested: Is a 25 point (plus lvl/focus/AA bonus) "Rune" type spell (decreases damage by 25+, i.e. a hit that is normally 100hp damage with this only causes 75 damage)

Tested: Is a 45 point (plus lvl/focus/AA bonus) "Heal" type Damage Shield, i.e. Mark of Kings type.

Will usually last the duration of the fight, so not a bad spell all around.

Negative, all this spell does is take away 25 HPs of whatever damage shield of the person/NPC you are casting it on and also gives the targeted PC/NPC 45 damage every time they strike something else, this is not in any relation to healing, it's strickly a damage shield, we have other spells that will heal when a mob stricks another player.

Mark of the Blameless has an additional 'Heal on strike' effect when cast on a mob (just like Mark of Kings does). As of Dec 9 2004 it appears to be 46HP per strike, as I'm getting exception heal messages on myself for 92HP everytime I 'crit'.

Judgement/King

Interesting. Combines Mark of Kings line with Mark of Judgement line. Be interesting to see how they worked the healing aspect, since they said that was going to get a major improvement.

It says decrease DS not reverse heal like karn was. According to this it would just reduce the damage a player would take from a mob's DS.
Thats what I get out of it anyways.

Thats the same text description as Mark of Kings and Mark of Karn... So I would think that this heals you per hit, just the same.
