What update are you looking to find? Chaos Runes (the rock you turn in for the song/spell) still drops of the mobs mentioned because I just got one March 8, 2007.

I turned it in last night after raids, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet.

Seems everyone is jumping all around the real fact that is right in front of us. This is a Curse. Yes it still holds to the same rules as normal bards dots but the fact that it affects all resists and has the "curse" icon implies that maybe they are just giving us something a lil different. I would assume that this dot is had as hell for any mob o resist ona regular basis. And in my experience in groups this will come in very handy. I usually twist WoZ/CotM/CoM and a dot based on what classes are in the group. Fire fore the mage/wiz cold for the dru/shammy and poison for the necro and sometimes if we are in more of a melee group I switch the dot around to use the magic based LDON dot so stuns/slows land better. It all depends on the situation. Plus it's always cool being able to twist in my drum with the dot as I pull then hit it with Bosatful Below a couple times so when I get back to group the mob is at 97/98 %...Still easy for the tank to pull away from but stops casters who are sitting from getting aggro or that super fast slower in group who insists on having every mob slowed before the tank engages. Of course this cause them to get aggro and ends up equaling more healing than would have been needed lol.

But at any rate this song will remedy all my dot desicions. I can just always use this and not have to worry about it. Of course that's assuming i ever get it lol. I have never gotten any of the luclin ancient spells. And have been in some big guilds. So the chances of this droppin and me getting it are slim to none lol. But nice to have a goal in mind hehe.

It is from GoD. I have all my songs from god but this one, cause it drops off raid level mobs past Kod`Taz: Iqthinxa in Qvic, Noqufiel in Inktu`Ta, etc ..

It'll typicllay beawarded and usually to Pallies who have a nice stun 'Ancient Force of Chaos' .. rest of the classes are a nuke/damage type spell/effect.

A Bards shot at the 'Chaos rune': We tack on a resist debuff with our song, really its nothing we'll miss, but GL on getting yours, hope I get mine someday.
limited value

It is new since GoD, so yes.

It may be another like Rytlan's Dirge of Death that isn't actually available yet, or it may be insanely rare like the other ancients (unreasonably rare in the case of the luclin era ancients -- yes i can uh manasong for less points than chorus of marr, really fits with the difficulty to obtain)

My concern with this would be if it would stack with the other DoT's. Bard DoT's don't usually stack with other bard DoT's that influence the same resist. The damage isn't any better than with the resist-targetted DoT, and the resist debuff isn't any better than with the resist-targetted DoT, so IMO, in the general case at the high end game, this spell would be of limited use.

It would be valuable when used with HoS as a resist debuff on creatures such as MB that don't have fixed resists, if you were using it just for the resist debuff, but in the more general cases (most mobs), the resists are known going in and you can use the appropriate targetted resist.

Honestly, if it does follow the normal stacking rules and block the other DoT's, then it wouldn't be a particularly useful addition to the line up and probably isn't worth the hassle. If it doesn't follow standard stacking rules, then for kiting, etc. it might carry some value, but quite honestly, at the end game, soloing is a waste of time compared to an experience group. In most zones, it is possible (if not particularly easy) to maintain a 40-45 kill per hour rate on level 68 mobiles.

If you are killing level 68 mobs at this pace in an experience group, you gain experience much faster than soloing -- two or more AA points an hour.

So IMO, the tactical value of this spell is limited for groups and the soloing value is also limited.

Hardly anything to get excited over AFAIKT.

Note that this is single target (just like all other percussion DoT)

It is a GoD era Ancient, meaning it drops from high end mobs in the final zone(s) of GoD.

It is a new line of DoT's (Chromatic) two bards singing it wouldn't stack, but it would stack with all 5 of the single resist dots. However it has two minor advantages, first it reduces all resists, making all the rest of the dots easier to land while this one is up, and second it is base damage 44 instead of 42 meaning about 8 points more damage per tick (assuming you have DoTR and IIM).

It is useful, solo, group kiting (with or without other bards). As far as solo vs group exp, I have found that high end dot kiting solo is about as much exp as high end grouping over time, that is it takes me twice to three times as long as a full group to kill the same mob but I get two to three times the exp and I don't have to stop to let the casters regen mana etc. However grouping is alot less boring than solo kiting so I still prefer it.

it is even somewhat useful raiding since it stacks with harmony and malos and tash, and the single resist targeted dots, and the other various classes resist debuffers. If for example you need to take down a particular mobs magic resist (so slows will land), you twist HoS, ACC, and FDD for a grand total of 42 base MR debuff, (212 with max instrumentation and jamfest aa's and the drums of the rathe)combine this with the 70 from shaman's malosina and 50 from enchanters howl of tash and you have a grand total of 332 mr debuffed. However that is of limited use since it is only helpful for a raid target that has incredibly high mr but is not immune to mr based effects or immunue to changes in attack speed.

In short it is a minor to nominal upgrade but certainly better respectivly than the sol era ancients. In defense of the sol era ancients though when they came out (pre pop) they were minor upgrades over what was currently available, its just that PoP made them useless. Which may very well be happening to this one in a couple of months since the OOW single target dots are looking to be somewhere around 49 base damage (5 higher than this one) of course nothing for OOW is finalized as of this writing so we cannot be sure yet how it will actually shape up.
where is this from?

I am guessing that this song is from GoD. Correct me if I am wrong.
