This spell is pointless for rangers, don't buy it. This heals up to 855, Chloroblast heals up to 1044 and costs about the same amount of mana, there's no point to this spell. Skip it and buy Sylvan Water instead(it heals about 120 more than Chloroblast).

I am glad i checked here and on Lucy before I bought this spell for 5k in bazaar. It is definately not worth it still, since they upgraded chloro over a year ago.

They need to get this upgraded : (
hmm

well with some spells being upgraded chloro now does slightly over 1k hp. this spell does less than 900. this spell costs more mana than chloro. upgrade this spell to like 1500 or something.

They seem to have patched it. It's now 245 mana !!! increadible unused spell who eat too much mana.
Realy stupid spell at 245 mana. Hope they ll back it a 195 mana who is just fine.

Had this drop last night from Sludge-Eating Fly (Sewers of Nihilia - Lair of Trapped Ones).

people below mention this as a 470hp heal, but now it says in the spell info it heals for 525. which is it?
*cough*

All the ranger spells are gimped. If your going to buy GoD be sure to have Sony remove it's johnson from your *** before you sit down to play it.

not going to bust my buns getting it

When you get into the details this spell may or may not be better than Chloroblast.

But yeesh. a 470 heal versus a 429 heal? this is NOT a significant upgrade. And here I was thinking we'd finally get superior heal fo 578 hp which would be the next logical upgrade and not an overpowering one either. I suspect a paladin complained.
I got it

I picked this spell up the other day. In an instanced zone.

It's not a Glyph Rune Word spell....

Only POTW and COT are the Rune spells.

Cholorblast tho is 428. With Healing Adepts (+19%) it's 509.

Sylvan Light with +19% turns into a 559 heal. Crits would prolly hit around 1100ish.

In my amazement at how usless this spell appeared to be, I decided to calculate the hit points healed per mana spent compared to Chloroblast. It turns out that this newer heal spell is actually lower hpm (hp per mana) than Chloroblast.

Here's what I did.

Chloroblast: 428 hp / 175 mana = 2.446 hpm
Sylvan Light: 470 hp / 195 mana = 2.410 hpm

So not only are you getting LESS healing for your mana, but the cast time is exactly the same. The overall difference in hit points healed of 42 is marginal, making little to no difference whatsoever at level 65.

There's absolutely no benefit from this new spell, unless I'm missing something here.

Well, look at it this way. With GoD anybody now has almost free IH4. Ya got almost free FT5 too. Add healing adepts, and that 42 HP difference gets amplified a fair bit. On a crit would be quite nice.

When I'm healing the chanter/cleric/slower/charmer, whatever, the key factor isn't so much the mana consumed as how fast I can shove HP into that caster. Same thing if it happen to be a really tough mob and cleric goes down, or if it get smacked down to a beast, tank and me on a slowed mob. I've done it before, and it's rare for me to get OOM before fight is over, one way or the other.

My first thought lookig at the ratio is, "Gee, it better be a fast cast." Looked it up on Lucy, compared cast time, and it's exactly the same. Hmm. Then I thought about it, and the same day I went and got that IH4 buff from trib master. I'm feeling a lot better about it now.

And the HP/mana ratio is only like 1% less or something if I recall from my calc. Not a huge difference.

OK, I take back my free IH4 statement... it's not hard to get and keep, but it isn't really free any more.

Anyone seen this spell? Or even know what expansion it is? Dont see it listed as ldon spell, and cant find a mob that drops it or a vendor that sells it.
