I agree with that, and don't even use this spell, inless in groups as an assisting snare where extra dmg helps. If I am solo aggro kiting, or aggro kiting itself, I use dooming darkness, it casts much much faster, and 1%less snare isn't gunna make any difference. how much mana it cost doesnt matter that much to me for snare, need what casts fast, and when a mob is running at me i dont have 7secs to stand still.

this spell is only for pulling, several reasons why.

1. 7 second cast time, as opposed to dooming darkness 4 second cast time, you wont be resnaring the mob with this snare after it breaks

2. mana cost 300mana as opposed to dooming for 120 mana

3. at level 49 dooming darkness snares the mob's movement 1% LESS, thats not going to be making enough difference to use cascading darkness

so what if its 50 damage difference, only means you are going to be kiting the mob a slightly longer.

Orignally this was true, but the casting time has since been changed to match the rest of the Darkness line. Overall it looks like a nice upgrade, with a 260% increase in the damage done (72/tick vs. 20/tick) for only 150% more mana (300 vs. 120).
