As a Shd quest the Blood of Pain spell at 44, which is far better than this one. In the same amount of time it does 540 dmg at a 225 mana cost. (casted 3 times) Plus with all the necros runnin around, you don't have to worry about someone elses dot overwriting it since it is Poison based. And I rarely see any poison dots used.

with cancel magic, it's a magic based DoT and I have canceled it (or more accuratly had it cancelled off of me) using a cancel magic spell.

It's actually fire based. It can be removed with cancel magic, but not because it's magic based. Have to be careful when using cancel magic to remove detrimental spells, as you can obviously strip beneficial ones as well. I would just let this spell run its course if it gets cast on you, and then maybe buff your fire resistance to prevent it from landing again.

How do you dispell this dang spell? I get it cat on me by mobs and nothing seems to cure it.
Reaver Nydlil sells it for 17pp at 50 charisma.
