Focus?
# May 06 2005 at 7:54 AM Rating: Good
Since this is a focus effect with a time limit does that mean when the time limit is done the pet buff goes away? If so do you need to summon your pet again to get the buff? Or does it stay on permanently? Any help would be appreciated.

The pet foci will stay on the pet as long as the pet is alive, you also only need to wear the foci while casting the pet spell. Once the pet is up you can unequip the item and not lose the focused pet.

Hope this helps ya.

I am currently lvl 67 and have the 67 Pet Spell "Lost Soul"-Doanyone know if this will work for the Lost Soul 67 Pet spell?
RE: will this work
# Nov 09 2004 at 3:24 AM Rating: Good
Since the pet spell falls within the level range for this focus effect (59 - 70) it should work on the pet.
RE: will this work
# Nov 30 2004 at 4:29 AM Rating: Good
As I understand it, this focus effect will work on your pet, however you will not get as large a benefit as with your previous pets. There is diminishing returns on up to 70... and beyond perhaps if eq makes it that far.

From some research I have done, and it has been quite a bit, all pets from 59-65 will have all the benefits but post 65 only get the hp increase, regen increase, mitigation increase, and the increase per hit (like from 75 unfocused - 77 focused hps per hit), but not the level increase. Kinda gimp but is what I have seen in the many posts I've read.

Hope it helps a bit

Doesn't appear to stack
# May 05 2004 at 5:47 PM Rating: Decent
I have had a friend lend me his secondary weapon auged with DPoC and also waas wearing my own range item with the DPoC and observed carefully. When I summon my warder with just one as we well know, I see that a +2 has been added to his attacks, yet when summoned with both augs on me, I still only observed the +2 increase. The amount of hitpoints don't seem to have changed...nothing seems to be any different when I had 2 augs on. So, as I have come to assume, no they do not stack. If anyone has noticed otherwise, plz lemme know ;)

To the guy who says he borrowed his friends secondary weapon with DPoC on it i have 1 thing to say for you. unless your server is different then mine DPoC is NO DROP .. therefore if it was augmented to anything that item would be NO DROP so unless you magically transfered this No Drop item to you in some way YOU ARE FULL of it buddy.
The other guy is right this is a focus effect so if you managed to get 2 of them since they are the same it would only use one of the augments power increase if you had a better pet focus it would use that instead. the item does appear to be lore so in therory you could get 2 but it would not help. FYI this item does have an amazing increase in regeneration for your pet when not in battle. about 6% a tic on self-buffed 65 Beastlord Pet.

If you look at his profile, you will notice that his 65 BST is on Firiona Vie. On FV, due to roleplaying aspects, very few items are made no-drop, including auged items. Please watch your accusations, it isn't fair to a player who is posting a viable comment on stacking.

This aug is a focus effect. Focus effects that have the same or very similar effects don't stack. The better of the two foci that are similar will take effect. For instance, I have Affliction Haste IV (decrease cast time 33%) and Spell Haste IV (decrease cast time 15%) and I cast a DoT; AH4 will be the foci that gets used because it's 'better'. I'll see a message saying that my <AH4 focus item> glows/shimmers/etc. Now say I cast a nuke, since Affliction Haste has certain limitations , only Spell Haste will be used.

In this case here, you have two of the same focus effect. I really don't have a clue which one will be chosen. Quite frankly, I'm surprised it doesn't crash the server or freeze up your client given the way SoE codes things. ;-)

If you have two then it simply means that you have a choice as to which item you want to wear while you summon your pet. ;-)
pet aug
# Apr 17 2004 at 11:04 PM Rating: Excellent
Ok, this is what i've worked out by observing my lvl 65 pet with 1 of these augs on my secondary item.

He has 4k hp's to begin with. Without any further hp buffs on him, the pet heal (which heals for 1k hps) only heals him for 20%. So that calculates to him now having about 5k hps. This is the main effect on my pet. I have watched my heal spell heal him for 20% many times, so unless he had 5k to begin with, and the site i got the info the the 65 pet has 4k hp's is wrong, then there's your info. Hope it brings you the good news you were hoping for. :)

Now the question is... since this aug is not lore, does it stack? I know someone already said no, but then why is it not lore? How cool would a 65 necro pet be with 3 of these things?
?

any idea on how long this thing will last at lvl 65 with no spell lasting buffs
Beastlord pets
# Mar 20 2004 at 4:21 AM Rating: Default
I have a 59 Beastlord that is close to earning this aug. Now i have to ask about the minimum level of 59. Which can mean 3 things. It can mean the minimum level of the caster, spell or pet. Meaning that it works if the player casting it is level 59(meaning any pet spell used would work just so long as the player is 59+) It could mean the minimum spell level is 59(so our lvl 60,62 and 64 pets would be the only ones to get the focus) Or that the pet level must be 59+(which would make it only work on our lvl 62 and 64 spells) Ive heard several different answers from several people and would like to know if anyone knows the facts for certain.
RE: Beastlord pets
# Mar 26 2004 at 12:23 AM Rating: Default
the level restrictions on this aug and Gloves of dark summoning are referring to the level of the pet to be focus'd....

Focus does not work on DC pets... you are not summoning them you are charming them, which is why you cant pocket DC pets either.

Rumor has it that as of 3/26/04 patch, the Aug will stack with Gloves of dark summoning effect... I wouldnt be quick to accept this as truth yet... even if it is true its just asking to be beaten with the Nerf stick.

RE: Beastlord pets
# Mar 26 2004 at 11:32 PM Rating: Default
The level of the pet itself or the level of the pet spell?
RE: Beastlord pets
# Nov 04 2004 at 11:21 AM Rating: Default
Definitely not level of pet because I got this at 62 and the pet is a level 41 and he was buffed with the aug so I am pretty sure it level of SPELL ****.

Well guess what you damn ****, it is the level of the pet. NOT the lvl of the spell. Funny how you had to try and call someone a dumbass when you were the one that was wrong. What a stupid bugger you are.

The pets pre 65 that use the focus are as follows for any wondering:

Ward of Xegony lvl 61 spell, lvl 60 pet
Child of Ro lvl 62 spell, lvl 60 pet
Servant of Marr lvl 63 spell, lvl 60 pet
Rathe’s Son lvl 65 spell, lvl 60 pet
Legacy of Zek lvl 61 spell, lvl 60 pet
Saryrn’s Companion lvl 63 spell, lvl 60 pet
Child of Bertoxxulous lvl 65 spell, lvl 60 pet
Spirit of Sorsha lvl 64 spell, lvl 60 pet
Spirit of Arag lvl 62 spell, lvl 60 pet

Wow would you notice the lvl of the pets? Weird they are all lvl 59+ huh. Get yer info right before you try and call someone a Fother Mucker, you stupid Fother Mucker.

Hope this helps some, this came from the patch message from march 25, 2004.

Has anybody done any research on the effects of this on DC pets? Does it have comparable stat increases for the lvl 46 pets that we can charm? Any info would be appreciated. Stacking
# Dec 11 2003 at 2:59 PM Rating: Decent
With two items with summoners boon, would this effect stack?
RE: Stacking
# Dec 13 2003 at 6:14 AM Rating: Decent
Focus effect items, afaik, do NOT stack. However, you may have ONE item and ONE spell with the same effect stack, such as Piety and any casting time reduction effect.

I love grouping with mages for those summoned items to stack with my Piety buffs.

BTW, in case you were wondering why I'm here, it's for my lowbie mage to drool over the stuff he'll never have.

Did multiple test with UNBUFFED Child of Bertoxxulous (65 Necro Pet). All test was pet vs. pet for 4 rounds of fighting.

When the two pets fought the Aug'd pet was at 45% health when UnAug'd pet died.

(HP below was based on a 1200 DMG nuke taking 30% off UnAug'd Pet and only 25% off Aug'd Pet)

UnAug'd Pet's Stats: 32.43 DPS, 57.73% to Hit, 4000 HP, 2 - 3% Life Regen (80 - 120 HP Regen), Hits for 78 Max

Aug'd Pet's Stats: 33.96 DPS, 60.98% to Hit, 4800 HP, 5 - 6% Life Regen (240 - 288 HP Regen), Hits for 80 Max

POSITIVE DIFFERENCES: 1.53 DPS, 3.25% to Hit, 800 HP more, 160 - 168 HP Regen, 2 Damage Max, Pet is Bigger as well.
