I have yet to be smacked by any guards while in wolf form,and I've been all over. Perhaps they changed it over time.

Amazingly enough, being in Wolf Form actually IMPROVES faction in Estate of Unrest. Great way to pull without all the aggro.

Yes, this spell can only be cast on yourself. In order to bless others with that illusion you'll need a spell like Share Wolf Form which says

wolf form speeds you up a little more than sow does, but i would only suggest using it while hunting out of reach of guards or be prepared to be hurt. learned that the hard way. :(

Learned my lesson today, Norrath's Keepers in Lavastorm and the elves in FV will attack you in a heartbeat while in wolf form.
