Fizzles, short duration
# Jun 28 2004 at 11:15 AM Rating: Decent
This has to be the worst performing spell out ther for my character. I have a mimimum of 15 fizzlesbefore it sticks. And worse yet, the duration is nowhere near what it should be, I usually find myself running through a zone only to have the effect fade away - usually at a time when Mobs are nearby. Ouch! This spell is awful.

Anyone that knows how to improve the effect of this spell please reply. No other shaman spell for invis that i know of.

This is not true. It is your level that makes this spell fizzle. If you just got this spell, no woder!

Er, somewhat. Let's take a "for instance"

For instance, Beasts get Invisiblity at lvl 49. If a Beast *never* cast a Divination based spell until say, level 70, by your reckoning, the Beast should have few fizzles?

Not quite.

The skill + the level. And really, while level is important, but not near as much as skill. I spent countless hours working on Div so when I got Invis, I could cast it w/o fizzling 15 times.

And ya know what, I only fizzled every couple of times. NOw level kicks in, fizzles got less as I levelled and my skill in Div reached its max at 235. When it finally hit 235,I still got fizzles, and as I attained more levels, fizzles became less yes.

But without the foundation of the skill, the level pretty much makes no difference.

it is both the spell lvl for character AND the spell skill lvl that determines the fizzle rate

I think someone needs to stand in PoK and lvl there spell skills *wink*

This spell's (like all spells) fizzle rate and effectiveness are based on your casting skill and level. Invis is divination. It is particularly bad for a shaman, because the spell lvl is 29 and odds are you haven't cast very many divination spells at all during your early career. Sit in POK and cast "True North" a few hundred times and you should be good to go.
whats the difference

Just wondering what the difference is between Superior Camo and Invis, is one better? Do some critters detect one and not the other?

Camo works outdoors only
Superior Camo works indoors and outdoors
Improved Sup Camo has 10 minutes fixed duration.
All can be cast on others.

unreliable !
# Apr 24 2003 at 8:32 PM Rating: Default
I've had invis potions last as little as 10 seconds... be careful with invis, it's very unreliable.
RE: unreliable !
# May 11 2003 at 9:42 AM Rating: Decent
Lol! i saw a DE mage zone in, and start walking into kaladim! obviously she got killed. i guess her invisibility ran out. Be careful with this! (espically when you're trying to get through kithicor at night, and it runs out and you can't recast because ur spells suck.......... then you die and no one helps you...........)
RE: unreliable !
# May 17 2003 at 2:29 AM Rating: Default
Um in kithicor at night invis does NOT help you. You need Invis to Undead. The undead in Kithicor see right through invis.. in fact most undead do.
RE: unreliable !
# Apr 25 2003 at 11:34 AM Rating: Good
That's part of the point. "Improved Invisibility" has a fixed duration. Also, the higher your divination skill, the more reliable this spell is.

Also, occasionally, even with a high Divination skill, this spell will drop after like 2 or 3 seconds. If you've just invised yourself and are about to zone into an unfriendly area, it's a good idea to pause and make sure invis is holding.
