It is still on PoK vendors on the Live server Antonius Bayle. It's a LDoN spell but might (and probably isn't) available in PoK until a few expansions later.

The research recipe for the Enchanter version of this spell from TSS is
Ink Additive of the Nameless
Ink of Rainbows
Invigorating Thickener
Quill of the Coercer
Smooth Supple Runic Hide

For the Necro version of the spell subsitute the Quill of the Coercer with a Quill of the Arch Lich and use a Pristine Supple Runic Hide instead of the Smooth one.
For all those that research have fun.

Forgot to mention that the previous recipe is for the enchanter version of the spell. For the Necromancer version replace the smooth supple runic hide with a Pristine Supple Runic Hide, and a Quill of the Arch Lich instead of the Quill of the Coercer.

What are the trivials for the respective recipes?

The 44 level spell: "Bounce" initially intrigued me. The idea of reflecting a caster's spell against them sounded good.

Then I realized its only a 40% chance. That's a 60% chance of getting hit! It would strictly be a defensive spell for me.

Also, I notice I can buy the better version of this spell from a vendor (using platinum, not points) at level 58. Being that I am already at level 54, I am going to save the Aventure Points I would have spent on this spell. I will wait and buy (from a vendor with plat) the 58 level spell: Reflect which has a 50% chance of reflecting a mob's spell.

Currently I find giving a gnoll hide lariat(with stun) to an earth pet very effective against casters. You could use an air pet to stun but they have less hp.

The gnoll hide lariats can be obtained at Split Paw. The are getting more expensive to buy however, now that pets can zone. I have heard that if you have a high level begging skill you can sometimes beg your pet's weaps back from them before you log. I have not however confirmed this.

You say u found a vendor that sells this for plats? Where?
RE: Bounce
# Jul 02 2005 at 4:48 PM Rating: Decent
No, he said they're expensive to buy. Not "I found a vendor that sells these." Vendors don't generally raise their prices, as they're just NPCs and have no real desire for profit, they just sell for how much the programmers tell them to.
RE: Bounce
# Aug 06 2005 at 10:28 AM Rating: Decent
Actually, he said he found a vender that sells the Reflect spell ... and he also said that gnoll hide lariats are getting more expensive to buy (you buy THOSE from players)

Not sure if its a trap or a mob, but isn't there a place in The Hole that requires one raid member to sacrafice himeself and run ahead and die. Would this deflect a trap spell?

hhhmmm now if a mob tries to mezz you and you deflect it, will the mob be mezzed, and thus save itself from pet attacks until mezz is broken?

What if it tried to charm you into a pet, surely it can't turn itself into its own pet, so does the bounce work, but then the spell fails to land due to target being inappropriate?
Uhhhh........

I finally got this spell today. I fail to see the usability of this spell. I mean, I, for one, am not going to waste a spot in my spell list for this. It lasts like 10 seconds, Self Target only, and has a recovery/recast time of a minute 20! So I don't see how you could know use is effectivly.
RE: Uhhhh........
# Mar 14 2004 at 10:32 AM Rating: Excellent
Okay here's where this spell is beautiful...Say you are killing a tough caster mob and your party is hurting a bit, you nuke a bit to much mob turns towards you. If mob blasts you for 90% of your bar or even all of it well you're most likely dead either way, unless the group can actually handle it. Specially if adds. Imagine you cast this spell on yourself just as you realize he is facing you and started casting. That nuke would hit him, cost you no mana other than the small cost of bounce, and then you could go on to nuke the bejesus out of him until he's dead. It's a great spell for CERTAIN situations. No, you wouldnt use it on every grouping, but if it's a caster area and you're afraid of drawing a few nukes your way that you dont have the HP to handle, well, this could be a lifesaver.

# Nov 10 2003 at 9:06 AM Rating: Good
My gear which extendes my dots goes off when I cast this spell ... hmmm .. don't seem to last much longer .. but it still extends a little .. I am guessing just a bug on The Rathe .. but it did pop up. Most spells of such short duration are exempted from extention .. and this ain't even a DoT .. so u do the math .. but anyways .. it did extended for a part of a tick :P

and what happens if the caster of a nuke has reflect up ? ? .. and the target of the nuke has reflect up ... does it become a Ping Pong Match ? ? ?

Enchanter's have their bounce spell at a specific camp different from the others. It's like how it is with that Shrew spell for shaman/druid/etc... The Bounce spell for Enchanters is at the EverFrost camp. Magicians get theirs from North Ro as do Necro's, Wizards from East Commons.

Hope that helps.

P.S. Cost is 72AP.
Interesting Spell
# Sep 24 2003 at 9:47 PM Rating: Excellent
This spell is fast casting (1.5 seconds) and mana cheap. The recast time of 2 minutes isn't great but 2 minutes is probably once per pull in many groups.

And as the post below said, most casting mobs cast once or twice when they are first pulled, so you should be able to time your use of the spell to make sure mobs casts on you during the 12 second duration.

I wonder though, if I reflect a heavy DD spell back on the mob will the mob attribute that damage to me for aggro purposes? If so, this spell could get a caster into trouble when it works because it may make it difficult for the tank to get the aggro off him.

Also, the spell you reflect back might have undesireable effects. If you reflect a fear spell you might cause a trian. Reflecting root on a pull is probably bad too. The casting mob will be rooted and won't come back to the group until root breaks. He will just stand there and nuke.

I wonder what happens with mobs that cast Area of Effect Spells like many raid targets do. If two or more casters in the area have this up, the chance of it being reflected is excellent since they each will have a 40% roll. Does 2 succesful rolls mean the mob gets hit 2x? Also, is it reflected back as an AoE spell? That could be bad because it could wake mezzed mobs, hit friendly npc's, etc.

P.S. If I reflect a summon, does the mob get summoned to me? ......lol that would be funny.
Missing the point for these spells
# Sep 22 2003 at 1:34 PM Rating: Excellent
First off, people are saying 2 ticks is a short time. Ever tried to pull a caster? Notice how fast they cast on you? From now on, my group is going to have an INT-caster pull wizard and cleric mobs, because nukes are usually the first thing they cast. Yeah, the MT will get agro as soon as the mob gets to you, but while it is on its way, nice to have one or (if you're lucky) two nukes reflected back.

That said, this is the low-level version of the spell. If you're higher level, don't bother; just go straight to reflect.

Another thing: someone said this was a spell for special cases only: well, of course it is, but why is that bad? I have FD, and that's only useful in special cases too....
it's crap
# Sep 18 2003 at 11:15 AM Rating: Default
Bought it and it's not worth the points. First of all the recovery time on it is ridiculous. If you want to cast, it'll have to take up a permanent slot. Second, it fizzles alot and my abj is pretty good. It's also very brief so unless you time it just right and get lucky, it doesn't do you much good. Specialized use only imho.
RE: it's crap
# Sep 19 2003 at 10:45 PM Rating: Default
Heh, this spell is going to rule for wizzies and any other class that can use it in pvp, and for pve its always good for places with lots of casters, and most importantly on raids.
RE: it's crap
# Oct 09 2003 at 2:12 AM Rating: Excellent
Ya, this line of spells owns pvp..those stupid lights gonna end up killing themselves..you can see their nukes coming and cast this faster.. plus there are some places i just cant solo cuz of those first 12 seconds i try to pull the rare nuker mob. also, if you cast this then fd and reflect the nukes back will it keep fd from being broken (or can you even cast during the time your reflective?)? that would be GD amazing.
RE: it's crap
# Sep 20 2003 at 10:47 AM Rating: Default
Try looking at the duration and recast time, and try to say that again. 2 ticks = 12 seconds. Time enough for one nuke to be cast by your opponent. :(

Frankly, I wish it was quite a bit longer lasting, and targetable (C'mon, what MT wouldn't want this on a raid going up against a caster? :))
RE: it's crap
# Sep 26 2003 at 6:56 PM Rating: Default
More like 2-3 nukes actually, depending on what they are casting, and in pvp that could mean difference between life and death, so sure this spell may not wonderful pve but its still nice pvp. :)
RE: it's crap
# Sep 20 2003 at 5:31 PM Rating: Excellent
For a spell that fails most of the time even when it doesn't fizzle, it takes too long to cast, has a rediculous recovery time, duration suck, you have to have it up exact time when you are being cast upon or it was a waste of time, it si a self only spell so it wont help keep your team alive, just waste your time while they are dieing, But on the bright side, it has a good range so if you are away from yourself you can still cast it.
