this spell was the difference between life and a wipe of my 2box when I had my 58 Monk duo'd with me (62 cleric) in BoT back in the day. If you had a serious twink monk lvl 58 like I DID, flagged for BoT, you would cast your Supernal Elixer on him after dumping this on him b4 a pull. This gave you enough time to land chain CH's/nukes after also landing a Mark of Karn on the mob.

For those of you who are even NOW leveling a cleric and find yourself approching 62, don't overlook this one! Coupled with a clestial b4 the pull and a "LANDED mark of karn", you can do things in zones that will amaze even yourself let alone the squishy tank you are duoing with :)

I had my wizard craft this for my cleric bot. The recipe level is 230. The only farmed ingredient is a Grubby Fine Parchment; everything else is storebought. See eqtraders for the full recipe.

No, it doesn't use a component, but that's not surprising since even Temperance doesn't now. I don't know whether this spell cost a dot back when Temperance did.

And yeah, reducing damage by 10% over the course of the next 16000 damage, isn't bad. Even if you don't refresh it, it's certainly worth casting when you start out, when the cleric can expect to have some out-of-combat regen before the first fight.

It is also no longer "nodrop" from ldon vendors.
Been using some stored up ldon points to sell them in bazaar.

This spell is not found at NRO as stated or they nerfed it. Have enough pts to buy and is not there.
Does anyone know where it is sold or if it still exists

Found in South Ro LDoN, not North Ro. It costs 650 Guk LDoN points

Use the LDoN sorting guide

I am currently using the one from EF (lv 44 spell)which was an overpriced 72 A.P. Absorbs 700pts of dmg. I am currently 63 and will not spend the points to upgrade. The lv 44 Vie average duration has been 2-4 slowed mobs according to my Tanks. Still collecting data for update.

'hint' 'hint' Sure could use a Group version of the Vie spell line :) 'wink''nod'

<EDIT> OK OK I WAS WRONG! Now that I am 64 I have to face reality and upgrade my lv 44 Vie spell.

Oh B.T.W. Folks you DO NOT USE A JEM with VIE spells. Believe me I would of been out of Dots for the amout of times I have cast this thing in a given gameday. Besides it would say component: Expencive Jem above if it did use one.

any component required?
# Sep 18 2003 at 1:53 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone know from personal xp if this spell needs a component to cast or if it is component free? thanks!

This spell does not take a component. It does however, at least in my experience, help quite a bit in the dungeons. Against big nasty ugly raid mobs? It would be a joke, obviously. But if you are just EXPing or adventuring, then this is a decent spell to have. It helps with having to heal myself so much when I get add agro. Or it helps me stay up that couple seconds longer, whichever. It's nothing to pass out over, but it does help imo. I cast it in the casters too, just in case. Anything that helps them stay up a lil longer for me to get heal off is ok in my book :D

Actually, this spell has ended up making a huge difference on raids. Many guilds are now setting aside a cleric or two specifically to chain cast this on the MT. This spell has helped time guilds single tank quarm. It even allowed a monk to be MT against Fenin Ro. 10% reduction in damage helps a lot against spurt rounds where the mob gets off a few full (or near full) hits.

Please check and verify that this is indeed true. The enchanter version of this spell (Bulwark of Alendar) does use up a peridot when cast. Although they are actually 2 different types of spells (1 absorbs a % of melee dmg and 1 absorbs a % of spell dmg), they are both considered "Rune" type spells. Check to see if yours is costing a peridot and you just didnt notice. :)

Thanks!!!

Easiest way to check is bank all your peridots and then try cast to spell. Better yet when you just died and are naked waiting for your rezz!

Should tell you if you need a reagent then!

LDoN spell
# Sep 16 2003 at 5:06 AM Rating: Excellent
Sort of a rune for clerics :)

Available from Guk adventure camp for 650 adventure points.

Does anyone know how much damage the spell will absorb before ending ?
It's on test
# Aug 25 2003 at 2:45 PM Rating: Decent
I've only seen it cast on test, but i've actually used the lvl 24 version on test, and it makes mobs that normally hit for about 100, do 10 dmg, so this aughta make mobs that normally do 350 dmg, do about 100 8)
Possibly LDoN spell?
# Aug 25 2003 at 1:12 AM Rating: Default
I would assume the new spells here are advanced info Lucy has about ones coming with LDoN... probably on the test servers now /shrug
IS this a spell?
