I'm looking at the spell scroll now. Level 52 to use. "This spell works on creatures up to 62 (Sixty-Two), This spell is unresistable."
So I guess they increased NPC level it hits by 10 since all these other older posts?

With the high resist and short deration should be good for quests that require faction.

What for?

I Think it'll be a spell with no or high lvl cap, instead it has a very short duration (just 8 ticks as it says) more a spell for new tactics, as you may be able to charm a powerful pet, kill within a few secs, then recharm or zone out. We 'll see waht it's really useful for. Might very well be just another "I charm/mezz/root and run" - spell :)

This will be a spell you keep out when you absolutely know crowd control will be an issue in a low 50s area. 8 ticks is long enough for my new pet to take on another add, me to mez any others and my group to evac or get the hell out of dodge. Least thats how I envision what it will be for me, though my idea of a chanters #1 role being crowd control.  We can buff and debuff like the @#%^ens but if you can't effectively control a multi pull none of it means anything. This will be a very nice utility spell in certain areas.

edit: what? I can't say @#%^ens? He was a famous writer and I for one enjoyed his work =P

Charm issues

Beware...charm now seems to draw all mobs in the zone after you...ignoring your new pet

charm aggro was changed a while back , right now it seems to be related to the number of players on the mobs hate list. If you have 1 or 2 players on the hate list pet will hold aggro just fine, add a 3rd and pet wont hold aggro well at all.

My friends and I have started calling it the Rule of 5 :) 4 things on the hate list and you're fine, everything works normally, add a 5th and pet's will no longer hold aggro. That 4 includes both players and pets. So a pet duo works just fine, but add a 3rd person, say a ranger to snare and the instant he shoots an arrow or whatever and gets himself on the hate list, the target will ignore pets. Rooting is the only way to remedy this, and we all know how reliable root is :P I'm guessing the change was added to give more value to the tank role, since a pet with 20k hp's will outdo a player tank any day.
Lower level Dictate?

Wow, I assume this snuck in with the Alendar line presumably for the next expansion? The spell data has the same stats as Dictate but at level 52 and 350 mana? Nice! I wonder what the level cap on it is?

My first guess on the level cap is around 45ish. Probably 46. Around the same level difference Dictate has.

I was wrong.. See post above. Level limit is 52.

Edit = correct information. - Level 52 limit.
