Does anyone know if this spell series stacks with the Rune series? If so, does the damage become applied to both i.e when hit by a spell, does 100% come off the rune and 20% off this sheild, or 20% from this and 80% from rune? etc. Thanks:)

yes and no. if war hits you then rune will take the blows till it gone then you die with this spell still up.

If wiz nukes you this spell will take the blows till it gone then you die rune will still be up.

how that helps you on how this spell works

Hmm.. I am pretty sure that rune will absorb direct spell damage... It has a habit of getting in the way when a necro uses lich or a shammy uses canni, so I would assume rune will start taking your hits after this spell is gone if you are getting nuked, but I'm not sure if they will both be active on the same hit (I.E. 100 points on guard, 100pts on rune... get nuked for 200 does rune take the second half or can you only use one "rune-like" spell per attack?
What Can It Absorb?

I'm curious as to what sorts of spell damage it can absorb. I'd assume that a DD targeted at you would be subject to the Spell Guard effect. What about, say, a damage shield though? Or a damaging AoE from a mob or trap? Anyone know if these would be affected?

The reason for my curiosity is that my main character is a rogue. I'm thinking of getting either a Guard or a Spell Guard augment for my weapon - I suspect Spell Guard to be the more useful of the two, if it will help me out versus DS'd mobs, mobs that are AoEing, etc., since I have ways of shedding aggro if I get it. But I'd hate to spend the points for a Black Diamond of Absorption and only then discover that it doesn't count DS's as "spell damage".
