I suppose there are several things for me to clear up:
- There is your Dodge skill, which is not a chance in itself, just how good you are at it.
- Second there is your chance to dodge an attack, which I suppose is a % chance devolving the attackers fighting skill and your dodge skill (otherwise the attackers skill would not matter, and they could just give a straight chance to avoid attacks).
- If the above is correct, then Improved Dodge III would raise your final chance by 30%. If that would be for example 5% against King Tormax, it would be increased to 6.5%.

Anything wrong with my assumption?

I recently made an improved dodge III aug thinking it would help a lot for when I 2 box with my druid. But something is SERIOUSLY wrong and if anyone can explain why this is happinging please do...

I parsed myself 2 boxing in PoF using Yalp. BST dodge maxes at 180 and block 210 I have a 5% dodge mod and 8% block so my effective dodge should be 189 and block 226ish. A bit of a difference but not to much but I figured my improved dodge III worn effect would compensate considering that according to Allakhazam Improved Dodge III is increase chance to dodge 30%.

So WHY when I did my parses I had 319 blocks and 119 dodges?! It seems like Improved dodge III's effect should be DECREASES chance to dodge 30%.

I just parsed myself again without the aug and came up with about 358 blocks and 128 dodges almost the exact same ratio.

I am conviced this effect IS BROKEN!

Any help/suggestions/comments would be great.

All theories aside,

The thing is,

Dodge is the absolute last check done when all others fail.
You can increase it 60% , and you will still parse it the same.
It is actually a pretty useless effect. You have a better chance to bleed acid than noticing an increase in dodge.

The aug slot would be put to much better use than wasting a dodge aug in it.

have been told that the improved dodge is seperate ablity that does not show as a dodge ie 30% chance to dodge then ablity dodge gives a chance to dodge then parry block etcetc ie
200 attacks at you with improve dodge 3 lowers it to 140 attacks on you which you would then normal dodge ablity that you actually see as you dodge attack you only see this over a long parc having an effect but key to note class that repo will repo less because less attacks reaching you:

Very cool theory and would be sweet IF it could be proven. : (

* Do mobs have a set amount of attacks or a random amount ?

* How do you measure a random amount of " 200 attacks at you with improve dodge 3 to lower it to 140 attacks on you which you would then normal dodge ability that you actually see as you dodge..." ?

* How does the 30% stack with perhaps another Dodge augment if at all without a way to measure ?


Just a few questions you can ask the guy that told you.


Now with that said I just wanted to say that the 100k up to 800k for these crafted augments are a total joke. Take the time to shop the DoN merchants for the type of augment you want then see how much crystals sell for on your server.

90% of the overpriced crafted augments could be purchaced for 50% + less with crystals.

Stat Augments are the worst rip off's in the Bazaar.

For example DoN stat aug has +8 Str, +8 Sta, +8 Int, +8 Wis, +8 Dex, +8 Agi , +8 Cha for the low cost of 90 crystals. I have also seen and purchaced +10 to +14 in all 6 stats for 90 crystals up to 120 crystals + ! ! !

( Sorry I forgot what the 14 crystal aug goes for but it is just above 120 crystals).

If crystals go for 150pp each on your server you are looking at paying 13.5 k for 90 crystals ! ! !

Now compare the cost of +10 in all 6 stats vs the +12 in one stat a Aug Vendor is selling in the Bazaar.

Sorry Tradeskillers not my fault you all paid insane amounts of cash for your components driving up the prices beyond value of end product.

Same could be said with the Dodge,Spell Shield, DoT ect... Augs.
The best DoN augs will look like this: Dodge 2 & +30 hp/mana/end for the cost of 680 crystals. Spendy ? Perhaps but compare 102k (@150 per crystal)

Some crafted +12 stat (or whatever) with Dodge 3 augment selling for 210k + in the bazaar and ask yourself if you really want to spend that much on the hope it stacks or makes much of a difference.

Now some servers are hipp to this fact and you see it in the prices of crystals going up.

Question... the 30% I assume is a bonus not a % modifier, so this would be a massive increase in the amount of dodges made correct?

Increase chance to dodge by 30% -- as in if your character currently dodges about 10% of the time, your will see your character dodge about 13% of the time with this aug, not 40%.

This is just an example, I think 10% is a bit optimistic for a base chance to dodge.

I think it would be a little silly if SOE gave you the 40% method, but you never know. This is a very reasonable and easy to draw asssumption, but let it be known it is still an assumption and I cannot confirm this.
