Melee only.

it would say something different for spells/dots/etc , such as intensity of the resolute lists:

Quote:
2: Critical DoT(50)
3: Critical Heal(50)
4: Critical HP Regen(50)
5: Spell Crit Chance(50)

I think what most ppl think when they see this is that there will be a 80% chance to land or atempt a crit strike on each swing but what it really says is there is an 80% increase to your chance. So if your chance to make a crit starts off as 10% you get 80% added to that so ending your chance at 18%.

Aloha

I have combat fury at lv3 & i just picked up an aug with cleave 2 & i am shocked to read here of an "80% increase chance to crit"?,after using this aug for about a week now i noticed 'very little' improvement in crit frequency,i expected to crit more often let alone 80% more often?! lol. am i missing something?. TY.

Bubbajunior the crit machine

I have an aug with this effect on my neck slot. I purchased it for 100k.

There are a few things that I wanted to know but no one mentioned so here they are.

First off If your class does not have an innate crit ability this will give them one, It will be lower % of crit strikes than someone who has AA's or an innate skill like zerkers and warriors.

Secondly the increase crit% is not 80% on all strikes it's an 80% increase of chance based on your current crit ability. So when you get your crit AA's later this will "stack" on those abilities making it very much worth it for a long while.

Third the reason for the 11-14 lines in the spell info is that its possible in 1 combat round to strike that many times. Due to AA's bonus strike skills and what not. So you can crit if you perform a triple strike on all three strikes (not likely but it has happened to me) Using my Frenzy (gives me an extra strike or two) I've managed to crit 4x's with this aug once so far in one combat round.

Fourth off, this also improves ranged fighting crits (arrows, daggers, axes that are thrown or shot) I noticed a nice increase in the amount of times I critted while throwing my axes.

My aug does not have a required level but I didn't even find someone even selling one until I was level 57. I can tell you it does work at least from that level forward.

This aug does not turn you into a pure critting machine, on my zerker I'd say I used to crit 1-3 times per 20 seconds of combat. Now I crit at least 2-5 times. Sometimes more sometimes less. But as of right now I have 0 AA's in critting and only have this aug.

with this aug can any lvl get the chance to crit, lets say a lvl 10 rogue?
RE: lvl requirement

As of today, all the augs with this effect are Required level 60 or higher... a level 10 rogue can't even equip a piece of gear with this aug in it. You'll get the "Your level, class, race, religion is not allowed to use this item" message.

The effect is Worn; if the piece of gear isn't equipped, then its effect does not affect you.
Does Cleave Stack?

Does cleave stack like mana regen or HP regen? Can I have one cleave 1 item and two cleave 2 items and have a total of cleave 5?
One question about the focus effect....

The only thing I'm unclear about this focus effect and others that have a similar description; when it lists the effect 11 times, does that mean it gets a probability to crit 11 times each time the probability is rolled or what? Is it listed multiple times like that for some other reason?

As I sit here trying to formulate an intelligent question regarding the way it is described, I'm having difficulties even doin that....does anyone have an insight or solid info on what it means?

I'm all for any increased chance of landing a crit, but I also can't stand not understanding something and this little gem of fuzzy descriptions is buggin me....

I would also like to know if this effect works for classes that do not naturally get melee crits (except procs).

I am a shammy with a 320 & 150 dd proc weapon. I can crit proc for 640 / 300 respectively but a chance to melee crit too would be very nice.

It will give shaman the ability to melee crit.

The multiple chance crit listing above adds one modifier to each potential attack per round, so a class that can get 11 hits in a round gets the mod added once to each hit, rather than one hit getting 11 mods.

Yes, apparently it improves the chance to crit approximately 11 times.
