the spell makes the Druid's summoned bear (Nature Walkers Behest ) 50% larger. so be aware he get's in your way more. however, makes it easier for you to run and hide while pooh bear attracts mob's attention.

Hit F8!

I noticed alot of people (well, maybe not ALOT) mention that this spell makes it alot easier to target a MoB, since you don't have your pet in the way when trying to target it. Y'all know that if you press F8, it targets the nearest enemy in your camera's field of view? And if you're in a group and there are multiple MoB's pummeling your tank, you can click the tank's name in the group box and then assist him/her without causing a break-off...

This is especially useful in enclosed areas, LDoN for example. While in these places all large group members (pcs and pets) should be shrunk if at all possible. This is purely so you can get around without bumping into each other in doorways, corridors etc.

When you have multiple mobs on or around your group, F8 is not how you should be targetting.

Shrinking pets makes targetting and movement (and just being able to see what's going on) easier for everyone.

#Valria, Posted: Jun 22 2003 at 3:17 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Unless this spell works on PC's on Care Bear servers the message of Soandso shrinks could only mean my pet. The message 'you feel smaller' is JUST WRONG. AS is the spell details reguarding group usage. THIS ONLY WORKS ON YOUR PET ! Lets actually try the spell before posting misleading info shall we. THIS SPELL SHRINKS YOUR PET NOTHING MORE. However; I would not be suprised if it did shrink others on the boring err blue servers. On Rallos this is a sweet spell and very useful in misleading your foe. Pets are hard as hell to see and target unless they are hitting you.

One of the first things I did when I got this spell was charm everything in sight and shrink it.

I went through half of antonica that way, even shrinking every orc camp in WC. It was great, all these little orcs the size of mice standing around a huge fire.

I figured I'd better quit when I discovered the High pass gaurds were uncharmable and had to train them all to zone.

OK I get the shrinking of the pet and all - hmmm but why they give it to a Shammy at 19 when we dont get a pet for quite a few lvls yet?

This is an excellent spell. To clear up a few points:

Yes, you have to be able to go to PoK to buy it yourself, as it is no drop.

You cast it on charmed pets as well as 'normal' pets. If you haven't tried it yet (and it seems shamans don't bother) using a charmed pet is excellent experience, if slightly more challenging than normal soloing/grouping.

It can help your pet get through small spaces. This isn't often a problem.

It also reduces your pets size making it easier to target mobs behind your pet. For any small race, this is a big advantage.

But the biggest advantage is when you have a charmed pet: you can tell it apart from all the other otherwise identical mobs! During a fight there will be less confusion from group members trying to attack your pet, and when charm breaks, you know which one is the ex-pet for recharming. This also applies when a heaving buffed ex-pet is found wandering around a zone - if it's tiny, take extra care.

(and it seems shamans don't bother)

As a shaman all we can charm is animals. When trying to charm level appropriate mobs (light blue to green in this case) I continually got the message that the mob was too high level for the spell. Shaman summoned pets are much more effective than a charmed one due to the level restrictions...that's why we don't seem to bother.
RE: *shrugs*
# Dec 14 2002 at 5:21 PM Rating: Good
Because they made it a lvl 19 spell for ALL classes, including classes that get pets right away. They also give it to druids at lvl 19, even they don't get a pet until way after lvl 50.

we can charm very early on. and it might help to distinguish our own pet, from a mob actually. sometimes your hunting same type, vs same type... and even same con. Sot he tiny griffine woul dbe mine. Sounds kind of dumb, but in lue of the confusion I had last night, Id love to have this spell. and well... they are cute. I wonder if charm breaks if they stay small?

click on scroll info above. It shows names of three venders that have it. of course now you got to find the vendor. but that narrows it down, hehe.

PoP is useful in that it allows you to travel Norath without having to use the spires. This gives you access to cities and zones that would normally be impossable to go to or travel to by ship.
What you do need to do is locate what aresa are available. The PoP map is here, check the zone map on this site. Also look at the location of where in the zone the portal opens at.

Xencho - (the soon, but not quite exactly now) the great

RE: Do you need power of Planes?
# Nov 20 2002 at 6:54 PM Rating: Excellent
You don't have to be lvl 60 to use it, but you DO need PoP, because it is a NO DROP spell.

All PoP spells under lvl 61 are NO DROP so that people without PoP can't use them.
