Don't Cast this spell

When you're with a druid that is.
I've noticed that I can't snare a mob with my druid when some sk or necro has cast this spell. So if you're grouped with a druid or ranger please don't use this spell. The druid/ranger spell lasts a lot longer than this spell and will actually stop a mob under 20% health. This spell doesn't stop the mob until somewhere around 10% health.

granted this is a low level spell, and the druid line of snares probably does last longer, they DON'T do damage. SO if you are grouped with a druid, tell the stupid DROOID to not load their snare spell, instead use the slot for another dot or root (for when this spell fades). Learn the time this line of spells lasts and get use to recasting it, just some friendly advice. I have a Necro that just turned 59 and has solo's 98% of the way (only grouped for raids to help with epics). Fear kiting is the way to go with the necro, snare, root and DoT for the Druid.

This Druid is 57 and Ditto on the Solo'n.

Snares
# Nov 24 2003 at 4:29 PM Rating: Good
Engulfing darkness seems to be resisted alot less than either dooming darkness or cascading darkness, but also slows them the least. If I know I am going to be snaring for agro kiting or fear kiting or whatever, I will have engulfing darkness loaded and cascading darkness or dooming darkness (depending on mana needs).

I will first snare with engulfing darkness to bring them in and to make the resist rate as low as possible, and then hit them with dooming darkness or higher when closer or the pet has them busy. This way I do not worry as much about a snare resist because they are already snared with ED. If you start with cascading or esp dooming darkness, you have a much greater chance of it being resisted and now they are running at you top speed. It is allot harder to cast the longer cast time snares when they are running at you.

Rule of thumb for kiting is 2 snares, FD, Lich, lifetap, and a DoT. The other two slots are for what type of kiting you will be doing.. fear or agro. If fear, one fear and one dot, if agro, 2 more dots which can include a lifetap dot like VM.

This is another snare spell that slows your mob. Cast this before you fear the mob.

This does not slow the mob. It lowers movement speed. "Slow" is usually used to refer to attack speed, IE shammie and enchanter slows. And yes, before someone flames me, Beastlords too.

Idiot.
