I was really expecting some severely raised damage on druid dots when I read that they upped the damage in the patch today and then severely disappointed to see this had lost a couple dozen damage per tick. Then I noticed one crucial factor, this dot has gone from 6 ticks to 9 ticks, allowing it to do over 2k damage overall compared to it's wimpy like 1200 damage or whatever it did before. I think that's pretty sweet. Also the cast time is hella faster.

I hope the other dots got good changes too...

This spell with the LDON spell and WD spell stack, imagine the possibilities. Ro line spells do not stack, so you get one of those to cast too. My druid still uses drones clicky when its a root rot mob. Dots make great aggro taunts when charm kiting with pets. You are the bait and your pet is the dps, dots keep them mad at joo.
is this rare?

I know it's a turn in to get this spell, but I have yet to see if for sale on the tribunal (since I have gotten high enough to be interested in it). Is it rare? Have seen all of the other 63 spells for sale.

Worth it......bet your bottom dollar!

Of course its worth it! Its another DoT that stacks, makes farming quicker...more use on raids....more quick DPS in LDoN's and I got it for 3k on Xegony!! So go on get it!

P.S.
I am the chairman of Swarming Death Corp.
it stacks

since dots stack, this is a very useful spell, stack it with your WD, and breath of ro to have a nice easy farm

Is it worth the money?
# May 01 2003 at 1:57 AM Rating: Decent
Spell is better then WD, but not by much.

WD = 143hp/tick x 9 ticks = 1287 hp
SD = 240hp/tick x 6 ticks = 1440 hp
------
+153 hp

Don't get me wrong, since both of them use the same amount of mana, this is not bad. Is just that Paying 13k-15k for only +153 hp is not really worth it. I'd say that when the spell drops to the 1k-2k range then it would be worthwhile to get. In the mean time, stick with the older WD.

I also compared your info with the info for Vengence of Nature (LDoN purchase for 410 i think). VoN is 215 per tick, 340mana, 4.75 cast time, -100 Magic, but for 5 ticks. So, if you don't have the cash for Swarming Death, perhaps you might have enough points (EF I think) for this decent alternative? Opinions?

Of course its worth the money. It stacks and costs the same mana. You must be a lower level druid as by level 60+ you more than likely can afford this spell even though its not cheap. Or you have a guild and you go loot one. I am trying to get Malo with my 60 shaman. Malo goes for 50K. .. now thats unreasonable. Guess its off to kill some guardian wurms in SF.

Not to be rude, but I'm mid 60's and do not have 13k or so to spend on one spell. Nope, don't have an uber high level guild either. While I agree with you that at this level you can definitely see the pro's for having it, but I also agree that I can't afford to spend this amount of cash for it. Maybe I just don't have a very good savings plan *grin*

I think this is a nice spell, especially for raids and such, where the mobs tend to go down quickly and it's not worth wasting your mana on a DoT that lasts a minute. This spell packs all the damage into a shorter amount of time.

easy enough to get a Extended Affliction III item. I went for the Coldain Military Wristguards (and the Coldain Military Leggings, all in about 3 hrs total). This will add an extra tick to the WD and not the SD, giving a 10HP bonus to SD. We all know that 10HP's will never make you (although I have zoned with only that keeping me alive before). I'll strive to get SD anyways just becuase I want it all!

Since Extended was changed Burning affliction (yeah theres still the extended affliction aug but for greater part...) Its easy to get a BA 4 item (either tribute or just get mage to summon you one) making SD much much better.

Extended Torment IV augment from Butcherblock LDON makes this last longer, Jagged Gravestone of Affliction 1450AP. SOE changed this focus to be very very rare in the game. Short of Raid drops there are very few places to get this focus and IMO this LDON camp is the easiest for casual players or alt chars. The focus IV is for up to level 65, but they changed focus to work at 10% decrease for every level over level of focus. At 66 you would get 10% of 10% subtracted to give you 9% extended.
